About this property

Central Vermont Summer at Stylish Modern Farmhouse

This Vermont farmhouse was built on the edge of the Green Mountain Forest in 1986 by its original owner, and has the spaciousness of a contemporary home while having the charm of an historic one. The house has three bedrooms, with a master on the first floor, and two bedrooms upstairs (one king room and one room with twin beds), sleeping six people total. The substantial kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and entertaining, complete with a dishwasher, microwave, and a range of tools. A beautiful formal living room has plenty of seating as well as a wood-burning fireplace. In the basement, there is a large family area for relaxing and enjoying movies. Throughout the house, visitors will find personal touches through vintage artwork, antiques, and a thoughtfully curated design.

On the property is also a three-season screened cabin perched over Roaring Brook, which acts as the rear boundary to the farmhouse. The brook can be heard throughout the house on summer days, and is a perfect place to sit on the deck overlooking the water, or napping inside. We do our best to leave the cabin available throughout the year, though access may not be possible in winter.

Lovely Stay for an Okemo Ski Trip
We had such a lovely time staying at this home for a late winter ski trip. The hosts, Tim and Caitlin, where super communicative and made booking, check-in, and check-out a seamless process. It made our first trip to Okemo and first Vrbo rental one to remember. The home is as pictured; beautifully decorated, adjacent to a roaring brook, and a stone’s throw from Wallingford Main St. which has some cute cafes and restaurants. We even lucked out with some snowfall the second day so everything was magically covered in white. Highly recommend to anyone considering.

Great ski trip location
The house was such a peaceful retreat after busy days skiing. Listening to the sound of the stream, sitting by the fireplace, instantly sets the tone for a relaxing ski weekend. Tim and Caitlin were super responsive. The house is well stocked, especially the kitchen. Everything is kept very clean. Mud room super helpful to hold all the ski equipment. Beds were comfy. Can’t wait to head back again.

Vermont Ski Trip
My friends and I were looking for a place to stay for our ski trip out in Vermont. We found 412 School street, which was in a great location for skiing in Okemo mountain. This house was very charming, cozy, practical and plentiful with amenities. The mud room right off the bat was amazing to be able to leave your skis and wet gear in a room away from elimination to dry but also away from the comfy home. The variety of streaming services in the downstairs entertainment/theater room made for easy unwinding. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and cups for family style meals, which made it easy to serve and sit down to enjoy downtime and food. The bedrooms/beds were very cozy. The location of the house with the brook in the backyard was super picturesque. Thank you, Michael

Incredible Home
This house seemed like Chip and Joanna Gaines renovated and furnished it! So many details from thoroughly labelled cabinets to amazing art throughout, this is a wonderful place to stay. The setting next to Roaring Brook adds to it.
