Incredible Lake Michigan Home with over 1/2 mile of public beach and amazing views of Little Sable Lighthouse. This gorgeous custom built home is built among the soft sand dunes of Mears Michigan and designed to take advantage of the beautiful views of Lake Michigan as well as the views of Little Sable Lighthouse across the street. Home is engineered to recreate the homes frequently built to house the light keepers for lighthouses built during the latter 1/2 of the 1800's along the shore of Michigan's Great Lakes. Enjoy over a 1/2 mile of soft, sandy Lake Michigan Beach that is literally directly across this quiet dead end street. Utilize the amazing powered beach wagon to effortlessly transport all your beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, food, ice cold drinks and even your kayaks and paddle boards from the home to the waters edge. Toes can be from the door to the water in 4 minutes and buried in the sand dunes right off the amazing wrap around deck. Whether you are relaxing on the deck, enjoying a gathering around the fire pit, entertaining in the living room, enjoying a movie and games in the walkout basement or hanging out in the 4th story crow's nest, you'll enjoy the most amazing views of one of Michigan's most iconic lighthouses from nearly every room in this quality home.
Little Sable Lighthouse was constructed in 1874 and is among the top 5 tallest lighthouses in Michigan at 107 feet. Visitors can stop by the small gift shop located in the public parking lot of the lighthouse to purchase a souvenir or pay a small fee to climb the internal staircase of Little Sable and get an amazing panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the surrounding dunes.
Enjoy a truly unique experience at Silver Lake Sand Dunes state park which is only a few miles north. This is one of the few locations in the united states which permits 4x4's to ride on the dunes and it has the added bonus permitting vacationers to pull their 4x4 up to an amazing Lake Michigan beach that is only accessible by 4x4 drivers and their companions.

Beautiful property with perfect location! The house is equipped with everything you might need or want. The beach buggy was a cool addition. The beds were very comfortable. We had multigenerational family members gathering for a baby shower at a restaurant in nearby Ludington. Once we figured out parking for family members visiting for the day, (they could park at the Lighthouse basically across the street), it was perfect. We had the beach to ourselves. My husband, myself, adult daughter and our dogs stayed for a four day weekend at the house. The house was beautiful and the location gorgeous. Set in dunes with views of Lake Michigan and the lighthouse. We visited Silver Lake Dunes with our UTV. My daughter and I shopped in Hart, Pentwater, and Ludington. We visited lighthouses and wineries. The trees were amazing. Sunsets and stars like no other place. The location reminded us of the Outer Banks. Although we were late in the season there were still places open and not having the crowds was nice. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

This house was everything we had hoped for! It was very well equipped and had plenty of room for everyone. The sand beach was a quick walk away, the lake was wonderful and we all enjoyed swimming and laying out in the sand. The views of the sunset were spectacular all week and the night sky was amazing from this location.We also made a couple of day trips around the area including a ball game in Grand Rapids. This was the perfect spot for a couple of families to unwind and relax for the week. The kids especially loved the large TV room downstairs for movie nights!Lastly, the host was super responsive to minor inquiries and gave us great recommendations around the area.

Why they chose this property

I spent my early childhood in St. Joseph Michigan, where my father and mother raised my siblings and I to appreciate the majesty of Lake Michigan in our 19’ Mercruiser tri hull boat. We moved to Brighton when I was 7 years old and when I grew to my adulthood, I was drawn back to Michigan’s west coast. I purchased a small 16’ Bayliner and took my wife and daughter to Lake Michigan several times a year.
I frequently dreamt of owning a little cottage on Lake Michigan some day. After we lost both my parents, both my in-laws and my brother within a few years span, I convinced my wonderful wife Sue to take the plunge with me. With our limited finances and the ever rising cost of properties near Lake Michigan, we decided to try our hand at renting our place out as a short term rental. We love sharing our home and providing the backdrop for so many great memories for our renters and their families. We have more than one amazing property now and we are still hoping to expand a bit more by finding incredibly unique and beautiful locations for our rental base.

The most amazing views of one of Michigan's most iconic Lighthouses with the home custom designed to take advantage of it's proximity to the Littles Sable Lighthouse and capture incredible views from the cathedral ceiling in the main living room to the lighthouse literally in your face as you step out of the master bedroom/bath and the unique view of the lighthouse from the 4th floor crow's nest. If you love walking through Michigan's dunes, you'll find so many options here as this home is literally built on a sand dune with great dune exploring on the state park directly across the street and many trail options within walking distance. Finally, you have the amazing Silver Lake Sand Dunes where you can drive your personal 4x4 on some of the most unique terrain in the country as you test your vehicle's muscle and your driving skills on the infamous Test Hill or drive your vehicle to Lake Michigan's water's edge to a beach only accessible to 4x4 owners.
