Bread and Butter Eclipsed all other VRBO experiences!
Our family group of 7 booked Bread and Butter for its perfect location for the recent solar eclipse. The eclipse was spectacular, of course, but this rental added tremendously to our trip. It is spotless, stylishly and comfortably outfitted, and our hosts made us feel so perfectly welcomed. Local coffee, snacks, fresh cinnamon bread — they even provided a kiddie table and chairs and an assortment of children’s nature books, in line with their National Parks decor. We even enjoyed a lively game of National Parks Trivia, just one of many entertainments provided by our hosts. You shouldn’t miss staying here when you visit in Bloomington!

Cozy and comfortable home -- great location
Our family of four (two adults, two teenagers) stayed at the Bread and Butter during a short spring break getaway to Bloomington. The house was cozy, clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed for our stay. Jane and Tony were great hosts -- responsive and communicative, providing a guidebook with suggestions for places to visit and also getting in touch when a storm approached to make sure we knew where emergency supplies were located in case of a power outage. We appreciated all of the details and special touches that made the place feel welcoming, such as fresh bread and butter, water bottles, breakfast items and snacks, etc. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and baking. We also loved the location – it is a cute neighborhood just minutes away from all the things we wanted to do. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!

Great hosts
My husband and I flew in to spend Christmas with our boys who are college students. The hosts were so welcoming, even left a Christmas tree for us. House has everything anyone would need, we made a full Christmas dinner no difficulty with everything available in the home. Thank you so much, would definitely stay again!

Hello,
We have been married forty-two years and we have raised four children, including one set of identical twin boys, another son and a daughter. We also have one grandson. Indiana University brought us to Bloomington in 1980 and we fell in love with the town and surrounding wilderness and just couldn't leave. We love hiking, camping, boating and music. Also, raising three cyclists, we fell in love with biking and our Airbnb reflects our interests of many of our adventures of National Parks, other vacations and the community of Bloomington. We are both teachers, Physical Education, Special Education and Auto Technology.

Why they chose this property

We have three rental properties and we continuously make updates, and keep the homes in great condition. We would never rent anything out that we wouldn't live in ourselves.

What makes this property unique

This home is an excellent IU location, 6 blocks directly south of the IU Law Building, close to Kirkwood and the downtown area. It's ideal for parents or anyone who plans on attending an IU event. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood with lots of dog walkers. It's also only two blocks from a walking and running trail at Bryan Park.
The Bread and Butter is designed to make a person feel like they are home-a-way from home and with the National Parks themed rooms, we home to inspire people to enjoy the great outdoors, take time to appreciate nature and perhaps plan their next adventure.
