An exceptional location. Lovely water and Sleeping Bear Dune views. The lake warms early and has a hard pack sand bottom very clear water and shallow for some ways out.
The cabin is simply decorated with time treasured furnishings linen and down bedding, real art, and wool or jute rugs. Also boasts an oversized cut field stone fireplace which can warm the entire home.
The cabin has an amazing sunroom which is great for dining or can be made private for sleeping.
During the High season June-August We only offer the entire home.

There is a fire pit with 5 Adirondack chairs. a deck with comfy chairs, sofa and dining table. and the best view around. as well as extensive in progress garden with fruit trees, shrubs cutting flowers and herbs.
very close to Heritage trail. In warmer months to Bike, Hike, swim, water ski, forage, really endless adventure's await. Great wintertime fun includes, cross country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing and so much more.

10 GUESTS CAN STAY. this is due to legal occupancy.
excellent foraging in the park for mushrooms, I have found morels, chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, lions mane, chanterelles, black trumpets and more within walking distance.
wild and feral raspberries, blackberries, apples, blueberries, strawberries, asparagus, fiddlehead ferns, pears and so much more have been found within the park. check regulations on quantities.
fly fishing. between 30 minutes and an hour you can be on world class trout and salmon rivers. Nearest would be the Platte River, Boardman River, Manistee River, Betsie River and little trout streams dotted.....(brown, brook, rainbow trout resident) along with steelhead and salmon as they migrate. The Crystal River is the closest hold lovely small mouth bass and migratory salmon.
Bikes and Kayaks can be Rented in Glen Arbor or, bring your own!
Surfing is an up and coming sport in the area, surfing at Empire beach, Frankfort beach and Sleeping Bear Point. boards can be rented at the sleeping bear surf and Kayak shop in Empire.
There are casual as well as gourmet restaurants. - some only take cash. I love La Becasse for French Country, on Big Glen Lake.
In the winter the cross country trails are groomed and there are miles and miles of trails.
Hiking. we have hiking maps in the desk. I like Treat family farm to Empire bluffs.
This is a private, dead end street with year round permanent residents. Very quiet and peaceful.
This would make a great retreat for your respectful group. Suggested retreats could be, yoga (on the dock is a treat!) anglers, foragers and mushroom collectors, writers, painters and other artists, meditation, paddlers, hikers, cross country skiers, and snowshoers, bird watchers, aspiring chefs, family retreats, girls weekends, men's retreats. Formal or informal. We do not allow parties or other intrusive type events.

Perfect house on Little Glen
Our family absolutely loved our time here! The house is very well appointed - just lovely. We cooked most of our meals in and the kitchen had all the tools we needed. Adults and kids loved the beach, dbl kayaks, dock, and the use of the mooring for our jet ski. The location is perfectly situated between Empire and Glen Arbor. Sunset views over the Sleeping Bear dunes were gorgeous. We’ve always stayed on Big Glen, but this location is much more peaceful. Excellent hosts!

Dream property, location, and host!
We had the most peaceful stay at Kindred Cabin. The gardens, view, and house were beautifully maintained and so special. Kitchen was great for cooking, used the slow cooker to start dinner so we could go on hikes, dunes, and beach, to return to dinner and relax. My kids loved the kayaks and hammock. Hope to return again!

Very comfortable house! Fantastic water front!
All the bedrooms were great and each had a degree of privacy so we didn’t feel on top of each other. The common areas were terrific too. Water, dock and beach front are amazing!! Great for children and adults.

Kindred Cabin is my family's favorite getaway!
This was our third visit to this property. Of all the vacations we have taken over the years, this is the only place that my kids (& husband) want to return to each year. We love the coziness of the house and the location on little Glen Lake. The view of Sleeping Bear Dunes, across the lake, is lovely!

Little Glen Magic
The first impression one gets when arriving at the house is the peace and tranquillity provided by the lake and the property. A perfect view of the lake and its surroundings are offered directly from almost every angle of the property. As the stay went on, our entire party marveled at some of the other aspects of the location as we rode bikes with our little ones to places like Empire for ice cream, the dune climb (only 1.5 miles away), and Glen Arbor. We were able to do all of this via the gorgeous (and safe) Heritage Bike Trail. The house itself met our needs perfectly with plentiful space, very clean rooms, and comfortable beds. Overall the house offered a fantastic week as we were all in and out of the water, constantly having a blast!
