About this property
Glen lake Private frontage sleeps 10. 5 bedroom fireplaces! Color tour open
An exceptional location. Lovely water and Sleeping Bear Dune views. The lake warms early and has a hard pack sand bottom very clear water and shallow for some ways out.
The cabin is simply decorated with time treasured furnishings linen and down bedding, real art, and wool rugs. Also boasts an oversized cut field stone fireplace which can warm the entire home.
The cabin has an amazing sunroom which is great for dining or can be made private for sleeping.
There is a fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs. a deck with comfy chairs, sofa and dining table. and the best view around. as well as extensive in progress garden with fruit trees, shrubs cutting flowers and herbs.
very close to Heritage trail. In warmer months to Bike, Hike, swim, water ski, forage, really endless adventure's await. Great wintertime fun includes, cross country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing and so much more.
you can see the northern lights from our dock.

10 GUESTS CAN STAY. this is due to legal occupancy.
excellent foraging in the park for mushrooms, I have found morels, chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, lions mane, chanterelles, black trumpets and more within walking distance.
wild and feral raspberries, blackberries, apples, blueberries, strawberries, asparagus, fiddlehead ferns, pears and so much more have been found within the park. check regulations on quantities.
fly fishing. between 30 minutes and an hour you can be on world class trout and salmon rivers. Nearest would be the Platte River, Boardman River, Manistee River, Betsie River and little trout streams dotted.....(brown, brook, rainbow trout resident) along with steelhead and salmon as they migrate. The Crystal River is the closest hold lovely small mouth bass and migratory salmon.
Bikes and Kayaks can be Rented in Glen Arbor or, bring your own!
Surfing is an up and coming sport in the area, surfing at Empire beach, Frankfort beach and Sleeping Bear Point. boards can be rented at the sleeping bear surf and Kayak shop in Empire.
There are casual as well as gourmet restaurants. - some only take cash. I love La Becasse for French Country, on Big Glen Lake.
In the winter the cross country trails are groomed and there are miles and miles of trails.
Hiking. we have hiking maps in the desk. I like Treat family farm to Empire bluffs.
This is a private, dead end street with year round permanent residents. Very quiet and peaceful.
This would make a great retreat for your respectful group. Suggested retreats could be, yoga (on the dock is a treat!) anglers, foragers and mushroom collectors, writers, painters and other artists, meditation, paddlers, hikers, cross country skiers, and snowshoers, bird watchers, aspiring chefs, family retreats, girls weekends, men's retreats. Formal or informal. We do not allow parties or other intrusive type events.
A former local, raised in Traverse city now living elsewhere. this is our retreat and other home which we share. We work in the restaurant and retail design industries. (Civil Alchemy retail and wholesale business, e Annex STL coffee and foods and The Frisco Barroom)
We like informal comfortable settings in and near the wilderness. We enjoy hiking, foraging, Fly fishing, kayaking and much more.
we are a family of 7. and try to live a peaceful, meaningful and kind life.
