We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience with the lock and appreciate your patience while we worked to resolve the issue. We’re happy we could get everything sorted out and that the apartment met your needs. We appreciate you choosing to stay with us and hope to welcome you back in the future!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We truly appreciate your kind words about the cleanliness, décor, fully equipped kitchen, and thoughtful extra touches. We’re also glad the location made it easy for you to enjoy the nearby restaurants and attractions. We know the temperatures were exceptionally hot during your stay, and we’re happy the additional window unit helped keep you comfortable. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we would love to welcome you back to Garden of Lotus again!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While I’m glad you found the property clean and as pictured, I do want to clarify a few points for future guests. Unfortunately, it seems this home was not a good fit for you. You arrived after 11:00 PM and had not reviewed the check-in instructions prior to your arrival. As a result, you had to reach out to me during the late-night hours for assistance with accessing the property, even though the check-in instructions had been provided in advance. Regarding the odor you described as a “foul cat smell,” there have never been cats kept in the home. You advised me that once you reached the landing of the primary living area of the home, you no longer smelled the odor. I understand that historic properties may not appeal to everyone, and I respect that this particular home and the historic downtown area were not your preference. I do, however, encourage future guests to carefully review the complete listing and check-in instructions before booking and arriving so they can determine whether the property is a good fit for their needs.

Hi Carla, Thank you so much for taking the time to rate your stay with us! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful experience and honored that you gave us a perfect 10/10. Your kind words and support truly mean the world to us. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Brian, thank you for taking time to review your stay. We are pleased to know that our home was suitable for you and your family.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to provide additional context for future guests. The toddler was not simply walking through the home. Beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m., there was repeated running throughout the upstairs unit. It was not until the 10:00 a.m. hour that I politely asked that the running inside the home be minimized. The request was made not only out of consideration for the shared living arrangement, as the upstairs unit is directly above the host’s residence, but also for the child’s safety. There are several areas within reasonable walking distance, including a playground designed for young children, that provide a more appropriate space for active play. The listing clearly states that the host resides in the downstairs unit. This information is disclosed prior to booking, and guests are encouraged to review the listing in its entirety to ensure the property meets their expectations. Regarding the insect reported, homes in this historic waterfront area may occasionally experience water bugs. When the concern was brought to my attention, I responded promptly and addressed it immediately. If there had been a legitimate issue that warranted a refund, I would have been happy to work with the guests to reach a fair resolution. My goal is always to provide a comfortable stay while responding promptly and professionally to any concerns that arise.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We noticed you rated your experience 3 out of 5, and we truly appreciate your honesty. We’re always striving to improve, and your feedback is important to us. Could you please share what we could have done to make your stay more enjoyable? We’d love the opportunity to learn and do better.

Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. However, at no point during your stay were we made aware that the TV was not working. We had guests check out prior to your arrival and no concerns regarding the TV were reported. Regarding cleanliness, after each guest we complete a deep cleaning of the property, so we are unsure specifically what areas you felt were not clean. We certainly understand that everyone’s standards and expectations may differ. We also had the opportunity to speak face to face during your stay, and at no point were any concerns or issues expressed to us. In fact, our interactions seemed to indicate that everything was going well. That said, we are glad you enjoyed the space, kitchen, laundry amenities, and our communication and hospitality. We appreciate your stay and your feedback.
