The beautiful property was just as described and pictured. It looks brand new and very clean. We had everything we needed for a peaceful, quiet stay. The cabin is very roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub with the firepit. The bathroom is very roomy. The bed was comfortable and internet worked well the little bit we used it Very convenient to Gilbert’s for kayaking. People at Gilbert’s were great I appreciated all the info in the guidebook that was sent prior to our arrival. It gave us everything we needed to know Enjoyed our short visit!

Our stay with our 3 teenage children was everything we were looking for! We had close access to the Buffalo River and ATV riding wasn't too far away. We were able to come back to our cabin in the peaceful woods and relax with the amenities offered. Although we had activities planned for our time in Arkansas, it wouldn't have been necessary with all that was offered at the Dogwood A Frame. With the creek access, hot tub, games and books offered at this location then I think we could have planned less excursions and thoroughly enjoyed more time on the property. The pellet grill was nice to have and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a few simple meals. If you want a place to stay off the beaten path, this is a wonderful scenic option! Do be prepared to travel a couple miles of gravel road. It's well maintained but still a rough ride if you aren't used to traveling off pavement. Be prepared to travel slow on those roads to keep from messing up your suspension. It all adds to the beauty and charm of the peaceful location though!

Relaxing and beautiful

We loved everything about the cabin. There are other properties around so we didn't feel too secluded but it was private. The hot tub and fire pit was a great feature and we appreciated the amenities including the coffee beans and espresso machine! The beds were also very comfortable.

We stayed for 4 nights with 2 adults/2 children. The layout and design of the home was fun and suited our needs perfectly. Good bathroom size since there was only one for us to share. Loved the deep freestanding bathtub and the provided bath salts. Great water pressure in the shower and appreciated the option of 2 different shower heads. Furniture and beds were comfortable. Kitchen was nicely stocked except I couldn't find a can opener and had to use a knife. Had a small issue with everything in the fridge freezing over but it only ruined our watermelon. Didn't like that before hand the notes said the freezer made a very small amount of ice but the sign in the freezer said we weren't allowed to use the ice machine. Since the location of the house is in the middle of no where, it is hard to get any supplies. Just be prepared to bring your own ice. There were a few basic spices provided but they all were dried up in clumps and couldn't be used. Luckily I had brought my own. Note that the oil provided is canola and the coffee is Maxwell House. As noted, the WIFI is very limited. Luckily we brought walkie-talkies to communicate with our friends staying in the other houses on the property. Communication with the owner was slightly delayed but they were very nice when we met them and accommodating. Overall this place is amazing and I would highly recommend and would love to stay again.

Thank you for the review. I would like to address the complaints. We send guests a guidebook house manual before there stay so that they can come prepared. We send it but very few actually read it. We did mention to bring Ice. The ice maker when on will over freeze the freezer so that is why we tell guests not to use it and to bring ice with them. We also let guests know as much as we possibly can that the area is remote and wifi is limited. This area is very humid in the summer months. It can have an impact on the spices causing them to clump up. We do our best to offer our guests the amenities they need or we inform them ahead of time so they can be better prepared.

Amazing Quiet Getaway

We loved the Dogwood House. It is exactly as advertised- every convenience is provided and well thought out. Expertly maintained and managed. As a Hotel Architect I know how complicated this can be. About the host

Hosted by Melissa Barnes

Host profile image
My name is Melissa Barnes and I am your host. I love to entertain so sharing Nature's Loft was something I was so excited to do. I feel it is so important in this day in time to seek out areas where you can relax, reset, and reconnect without distractions and without giving up modern luxurious amenities. I wanted to offer a place in the woods but not a cabin in the woods. I wanted to offer luxury surrounded by nature. So this is the dream that started the vision for Nature's Loft. My husband Jeff and I created this magical place to be an adult playland. We wanted to offer a place where adults could enjoy themselves in peace and quiet. I have five children and six grand children so getting time away is welcoming. I hope you find this place to be as magical as we do.

Why they chose this property

Nature's Loft is 30 acres of remote beauty. We are only 4.4 miles from the amazing Buffalo River at Gilbert Ar. so the location is perfect. There is so much at your front door. So many out door activities and day trip destinations close by. It is an area that is very centrally located. The nature of this place is beautiful and is very special. It is such a breath of fresh air.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefits of our homes is the setting paired with the amenities we offer. Peaceful and beautiful and surrounded by nature. Our homes at Natures Loft are luxurious. The modern amenities will leave you wanting for nothing. It is truly nature's luxury. Our rock like hot spas are perfect. They are unique and welcoming. We have tried to think of everything that will make our homes welcoming and comfortable. We want our guests to be spoiled.
