I rarely write bad reviews. I do my research carefully and usually find nice rentals. Previous reviews of this rental did not reveal the problems. I will provide the details.
Two major problems. Queen beds are 60” X 80”. The bed is smaller in both dimensions. Additionally, it transmits motion to a high degree. It is impossible to avoid one sleeper disturbing the other. Not suitable for two people. To their credit, the hosts provided additional bedding for the person sleeping on the couch, which is not a sleeper sofa nor does it have movable cushions to make space for the person sleeping there.
Second major problem - the dank and musty smell. This is not normal for FL. I owned property in FL for 13 years. Proper maintenance and use of air conditioning prevents this problem. We found it necessary to keep the windows open nearly all the time.
Minor problems: toaster and vacuum work poorly, bed linens and towels are old and worn. It is unusual for a Florida rental to not provide beach chairs. There is debris in the air vent to the living room causing a rattle that is disturbing to the living room sleeper. Compared to the many other places I have rented, this place has little in the way of supplies. BYO everything.
Is there anything good? Washer, dryer, and dishwasher work well. The walk-in shower stall is nice. A good fry pan, which is unexpected in a rental. The small patio is quite nice and we ate most meals there so as to be in fresh air.
