This was a wonderful winter holiday house for a family get-together. Check-in was easy, the host is very accessible if there's any issue, and the combination of amenities at the house and being walking distance to town was perfect.
This home is so relaxing and sitting on the front porch listening to the birds and watching the squirrels was awesome. The 20 stairs were a little much for a couple of us, but that's an age issue! Thanks, Charlie
Truly enjoyed our stay- home was beautiful and in a great location. A wonderful time was had by all- the holiday decorations were a special touch we enjoyed very much. Thank you for a great vacation!!!

We loved this beautiful historic home! It is walking distance to the downtown area of Waynesville, and close to all the things we wanted to do. Plenty of room for 8 and could have even accommodated more comfortably. Wonderful stay!

Hi Emma, thank you for the wonderful review. It is a sweet old historic home and I love to share it with my guests. Hope you will visit again. Charlie
We had an amazing time at Twin Maples Farmhouse during our annual girls getaway. The porch was perfect for relaxing and catching up with each other. Downtown is very convenient to all the shops and restaurants, all in walking distance. We all loved the farmhouse charm! We would definitely come back!
This old farmhouse/former B & B, built at the turn of the 20th century, and situated on a beautiful lot overlooking a creek, grassy fields, and countless fireflies, was the best "find" I've ever made on VRBO. The furnishings were impeccable, the accommodations were spacious with huge bedrooms and a bathroom for each, the kitchen was fully stocked, the air conditioning was great, and the front porch had enough rockers for the five of us. This was an unforgettable stay in a lovely home, and I couldn't recommend it more.

Brooke thank you for such a wonderful review. I am so glad you enjoyed my home and the fireflies; they are so fun to watch. I hope you will visit again sometime when you are coming to the Smokies. Charlie
This place is like being back in time! Absolutely beautiful old farmhouse with feel at home style. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed relaxing on the porch watching the squirrels and chipmunks playing around. The outdoor space with fire pit was very nice and relaxing. We hope to come back here again. Charlie is a very sweet lady and met all our needs, you will enjoy her! Thanks again Charlie for allowing us to vacation at your place!!
We had a wonderful week's long stay at this property, ages from teenager to grandparents. It is evident how much this home has been loved through the years. It is charming, but updated in the right ways for guest comfort. The home is nicely located close to town. We took advantage of the short walk on several occasions. The home is large with ample gathering space. The check in process is easy and Wanda is very accessible for questions. We especially enjoyed the large front porch with plenty of seating for everyone. We very much enjoyed our stay at this very sweet home.
Even as we arrived, we realized we were going to enjoy this stay tremendously, and we certainly did. The property is just as advertised, close to all that you want to see, do and eat on the main drag in Waynesville. And yet when you are on the front porch, you feel as if you are in the country and it's just you there. There were six of us on this stay and, to a person, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Charlie is a great host and called to check on us several times during the week. I highly recommend this house if you are traveling to the Waynesville area.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I am so glad you enjoyed my home and I hope you will visit again. Charlie
My family and I love this place! The location was perfect, super clean, beautiful house, and the view from the wrap-around porch it's fantastic. The whole house is decorated beautifully and comfy. You have everything you need and more in the kitchen. I will go back there in a second!
The walking distance to downtown Waynesville is perfect! You can eat, drink, and then go back home walking.
We have a great time in the town and all the fantastic places around Waynesville.
Charlie was excellent before, during, and after the trip.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, Charlie!
Three men between 55 and 65 stayed in the beautiful old home for three nights. We were there to ride motorcycles in the mountains. The home had a very comfortable bedroom and bathroom for each of us. It had more space than we needed. It had a wonderful porch with rocking chairs. There was a great fire pit with more outdoor furnishings that was very useful. It was a great property and exactly as advertised. We needed solid pavement all the way in and plenty of parking for the motorcycles. It was an easy 5-10 minute walk into town. It was perfect for our needs. Thanks Charlie.

For anyone who enjoys stepping back in time this was an amazing place. Each room contains so much history, including photos of the original owners. I loved sitting on the porch and the shops in Waynesville. We had only one concern and that was promptly addressed by Wanda within hours. She was great to work with, even contacted us to tell us we could check in early!!!!!
We had a great experience staying at this property. Charlie has great communication!
We had two families staying together while we attended a conference at Lake Junaluska. It was an easy drive to the lake each day. It is conveniently located close to downtown Waynesville and local stores.
Our favorite part of the house was sitting around the dining room tables to eat, play games and talk. There was plenty of room to spread out and have our own space.
We love to cook, and the house had everything we needed to prepare our meals. Very nicely stocked!
Perfect week away!
I love the location of this property. Could easily walk into town. Good parking. Bedrooms are spacious. It is a traditional historic home with a lot of charm in character. Enjoyed our stay very much
The house is old farmhouse. It was built in 1907. It has been upgraded and has all the modern conveniences. Two bedrooms have en suite baths and the other two bedrooms have adjoining baths. The big yard is great for kids to play. Each bedroom has a TV and there is a TV in the sitting room. Internet connection is strong. The property manager is friendly and respoonsive.
This was a great choice for a short family getaway. Property was very close to shopping, restaurants, and scenic location. The property owner was wonderful to work with!
Very nice historic home convenient to town w lots of great shops!
We all enjoyed the property and had a great time!

About the host
Hosted by Charlie
I grew up in Haywood County and have spent most of my life here. Although I lived in San Antonio for twenty years, I could never get these mountains out of my blood and eventually found my way back home. I come from a large family with seven siblings and I’ve truly enjoyed being back home close to them again. I enjoy hiking, camping, restoring old homes and listening to good music-all of the simple things that make mountain life special.
Why they chose this property
The things I find most inviting about the neighborhood are its small-town charm and the easy access to downtown Waynesville; whether you choose to take a short drive or enjoy a pleasant walk to Main Street.
What makes this property unique
The things I enjoy most about this property are the historic details and timeless charm throughout the home-the high ceilings, original woodwork, beadboard walls and the inviting front porch surrounded by trees. I also love the easy walk to downtown Waynesville, where you can enjoy local shops, restaurants and breweries; while still being tucked away in a peaceful, private setting surrounded by nature.
