Your group was wonderful and I am glad you love that big old 100-year-old house! It is a step back in time since I show a lot of original wood and architecture. Yes, the magnolia tree is amazing. I hired an arborist to come assess the health, and he verified it is one of the largest and oldest magnolia trees in the state.

Thank you for the five-star review; after spending a year renovating this beautiful big home, I love being able to share it with guests. It is a lovely, quiet neighborhood by the beach yet close to everything--including the train. Since the tracks run parallel to the beach all across the Coast, if you're near the beach, you also get the train. Hope to see you again and glad you had a restful getaway.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this special house. We lost so many historic homes close to the beach during Hurricane Katrina. This house--and the huge magnolia tree in the back yard--are survivors. I'm happy that visitors to our beautiful Coast can experience staying in one of our historic Southern homes.

Such a wonderful review! I knew I had to buy this beautiful 100+ year old home when I saw the incredible magnolia tree in the backyard. An arborist who came to evaluate it said it is one of the oldest and largest in the state. The feeling of sitting under it is so tranquil. I live a few houses away and also love the neighborhood and location. You were great guests and are welcome back any time!

It was a pleasure hosting your family as our first guests at Majestic Magnolia Beach House. Thank you so much for our first rating being five stars--we really try to make each visit special. It really is a great spacious house built in 1913 and it was fun giving it new life during the year-long renovation. The train runs parallel close to the beach all across the state, so if you stay by the beach, you're near the tracks. You're welcome back any time and thanks again for being our first guests!

I'm so sorry you had a problem with the two bedside lamps. If you had mentioned it when I stopped by to say "hi" I could have switched them out. I have some cool magnolia lamps in a storage closet there and I'll put them out. No one has mentioned having a hard time turning the lamps on but if you had a problem someone else also might have a problem. I try to do everything I can to make guests as comfortable as possible so I'm glad you brought this to my attention.
