About this property
Charming studio very central Soho/Covent Garden. Excellent reviews!
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! A cosy haven of charm and comfort right at the very centre of London.
Certificate of Excellence since 2018. Over 100 excellent reviews on the most popular websites.
Very close to Soho, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, West End theatres, the new Outernet London, Oxford street shopping, British Museum, Denmark st. music heritage landmark, Oasis gym and swimming pool, etc. All within 5 minutes walk.
Restaurants, shops, cafés, supermarket etc. nearby.
Tottenham court rd. tube station a few steps away. New Elizabeth line direct from Heathrow. 40 mins. ride.
The room has charm in abundance, mixing modern design that incorporates an interesting split level living area and the original features of the impressive Edwardian building.
The apartment is surprisingly quiet considering its central location. This is because the apartment is high above the road (3rd floor) and has very effective newly fitted double glazing windows. A separate shower cubicle. A very comfortable double bed that slides out at bed time and slides away during the day. The bed has a new (April 2024) hybrid supportive high quality mattress. As seen in the photos the studio is on two levels - only two steps between both. Not accessible for wheelchairs. A well equipped kitchen. Cable TV, hi-speed Wi Fi. Linen and towels provided.
The flat's manager meets you at the flat upon arrival and checks you in.
The historic Edwardian building in which the flat is located has currently been restored. The facade looks beautiful ! There are still restoration works in the stairway and some of the other flats, and the vintage lift may go in and out of service during the works. Works take place only during working hours and on weekdays only. Therefore we are offering during the restoration period discounted rates. The rate was amendeds accordingly in the listing. Important and interesting things to note:
1. Great reviews on various websites!
⸻
2. Instructions for Guests (also displayed in the studio):
- Hot Water – operated by a boiler switch. The water heats quickly and stays hot for a while. Please do not leave the switch on for more than 30 minutes at a time (sufficient for two hot showers).
- Shower Room – please make sure the internal shower door is closed while showering, and place the bath mat on the floor.

3. Music and Theatre History:
The building and its surroundings have a rich music and theatre history:
• Brian Sommerville, the Beatles’ early publicist, once lived here.
• Dick James Music, the Beatles’ first publishing company was located on the 2nd floor.
• Many West End actors and theatrical agents used to live in the building.
• Even today, visiting West End actors sometimes book our studio.
The building stands at the corner of Denmark Street, famous as Britain’s “Tin Pan Alley” in the 1960s — the hub of music publishers, music stores, and studios.
• Elton John met his writing partner in an office there.
• The street’s cafés became popular hangouts for musicians.
• David Bowie met his first backing group here.
• Everyone from The Kinks to Stevie Wonder to Jimi Hendrix to The Rolling Stones recorded in a local studio.
More recently, the detective series Strike (written by J.K. Rowling) filmed scenes in an office above one of the street’s guitar shops, featuring Denmark Street itself in many of the scenes.
Denmark Street has been recently renovated, preserving its rare 17th-century buildings and musical character. It’s still the place to buy guitars and other instruments — and maybe even spot a famous musician!
Enjoy your stay!
