The Pink Flamingo, formerly The Rio Retreat, is an adorable midcentury modern with updated coastal features and a touch of pizzazz, right in the heart of historic Rio. Drink in the tropical backyard setting, while enjoying a glass of wine around the large firepit and sitting in an adirondack chair, on those balmy South Florida evenings. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea in the island style rocking chairs on the front porch, surrounded by coconut palms swaying in the warm breeze, with the privacy hedge keeping it green! Enjoy natural Florida with beautiful beaches and parks, just minutes away. Perhaps you'll find that perfect seashell to help remember your special Florida beach vacation! For vintage car aficionados, The Elliott Museum is a must on Hutchinson Island Stuart. Visit historic downtown Stuart with its fabulous restaurants, resort wear, gift and art shops. Not to be missed is the ever popular Kilwins ice cream and fudge parlor. There is a favorite for everyone so be prepared for a bit of a line because it's that good! Grab your seats early, or just boogie on over to the dance deck with your honey for Rock'n Riverwalk, featuring a different band every Sunday afternoon. The historic Lyric Theater newly updated, also offers first class original music groups, tribute bands, and comedy. Ride free of charge the village trolley, which allows you a tour of the area attractions and a bit of the history of old Stuart.
Mrs. Peters (historic & famous) Smokehouse, is just down Dixie Hwy where you will find her renowned smoked fish and dips. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at Jan's Place in downtown Jensen Beach, and every Thursday night the town is hopping with Jammin' Jensen! Stuart and Jensen Beaches are just minutes from your stay! The house has city water (not well.)

Darling House!

This house is delightful! Beachy decor without being overboard, comfortable furniture, two nice bedrooms and bathrooms as well as an office, well-equipped kitchen and nice laundry room. The Rio Retreat was the perfect spring break getaway for my wife and I. Olivia has thought of everything while appointing the property. I would definitely return for another stay

The home was amazingly clean, with well thought out Mid-century decor with very nice landscaping. Comfortable bed and furnishings, amenities included a wood burning outdoor fire pit on a comfortable patio. The home is in an area with a some really nice restaurants with great food that are in a walkable distance. Easily drive to beaches or fishing. I enjoy mid-century homes and I would stay there again.

What an amazing place! Everything was perfect from top to bottom. The house was clean and very comfortable. Well equipped with everything you needed for your stay. We especially enjoyed the back patio, the spacious remodeled kitchen, and the wonderful laundry room. Great location; close to beaches and shopping. We will be back.

I cannot say enough how amazing our experience was at the Rio Retreat. There was not a detail missed and they even went the extra mile to provide a few items you may need (soap, laundry detergent, spices). Great stay by the beach

The house appeared to be newly remodeled. It was very clean and nice. It was close enough to drive to the beach, restaurants and stores and was in a quiet neighborhood. The house had all the amenities we needed and the hosts were great. They were easy to get ahold of and quick to respond. They even let us check in early since the house was ready and we arrived early to town. Would definitely recommend it.

Things could not be better in the treasure coast

From the moment you walk through the door you just get this welcoming feeling. It’s bright, sunny, and oh so clean. It’s decorated so nicely, it could be in better homes and gardens. Close to the beach, shopping, and so many great restaurants your head will spin! Wonderful and friendly neighbors in the community. Olivia couldn’t be more helpful. Jensen Beach is a beautiful area. It’s a little treasure!!!

Whole house & yard cleaner than any other…even in the corners and on the window sills where you always find dust! All appliances seem brand new. Beautifully decorated. Very comfortable/spacious in every room with 4 adults sharing space. A real treat to have the use of a firepit and comfy, pillowed Adirondack chairs on the patio with decorative lighting. Wished we could stay longer and would definately come again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "Rio Retreat." The interior design is very well done, the craftsmanship on the interior finish is excellent, and the bathrooms are well done and very clean. The house has a nice backyard with a seating area. The kitchen has new and newer appliances and is well equipped. The washer and dryer are full size and new models. The keyless entry made checking in seamless and the house has a circular driveway which made it easy to get in and out. Communication with the property manager was very good. All and all I would definitely stay here again. Tony

Paradise in Rio

I cannot begin to describe this wonderful Gem in Paradise!! Being a native of Stuart, Florida from many moons ago, I was in town visiting family and friends and attending a reunion. This darling little cottage provided one of the best experiences that I have had in a “home away from home”. It was impeccably maintained and unbelievably clean. Olivia’s attention to detail was unsurpassed compared to other locations we have stayed. Everything that we needed was provided (other than groceries and so forth – naturally). The interior décor, and outside landscaping took me back to the place where I grew up, “Old Florida”. What wonderful ambience during my walk down “memory lane”, throughout our stay. You will not be disappointed! Olivia is a wonderful host.

Our updated midcentury modern is a comfortable haven. It’s a bit of paradise in the middle of the action. It's in a vintage neighborhood surrounded by coconut palm trees swaying in the wind, with greenery all around! It's quiet, peaceful, yet in the heart of everything you could want in a Florida vacation. All the beautiful beaches are just a few minutes away, as well as fishing, deep sea fishing, surfing, and kayaking too. We are surrounded by the best restaurants in Martin County! Historic downtown Stuart is just over the Roosevelt Bridge. Once you stay at The Pink Flamingo you will long to come back again and again!

What makes this property unique

I fell in love with this home because it is a completely renovated vintage home, in a vintage neighborhood surrounded by the lush and tropical vibe of old Florida. I find the sea breezes, that blow in from the east refreshing and calming, while the warm sun relaxes me. I'm sure you will experience this too!
