About this property

Aurora View & Water Views. 8 minutes to airport-Very private house out of town.

View the Aurora from the warmth of the living room on a clear night in this house built in 2007. Pond view in spring and summer right out the living room window. Located just 8 minutes to Fairbanks Airport, but out of town with Chena Ridge blocking light pollution. You have full run of the house. We have a well equipped kitchen (food not included) so you can prepare meals at home which will save a lot of money because dining out in Fairbanks can be expensive. Keurig coffee maker, K-cup pods, tea bags, sugar and creamer provided, or bring your own favorite K-Cups. Do you like smoothies...We have a new Magic Bullet for your use.

There are two aurora cameras that we give you access to during your stay so you can see multiple directions to know when the aurora is active without having to stand out in the cold waiting. We also have a lot of information and resources that we can provide to help you maximize your aurora viewing experience.

You arrive to a nice, warm, clean and inviting home. The view of the pond, which is frozen over in winter, and the serenity of no house in sight is so relaxing in this very private setting. With the convenience of being just minutes to downtown and the airport, you get the best of both worlds.

The house is stocked with lots of new games for your enjoyment. Wifi and 2 smart TV's to round out the indoor activities and entertainment in two separate living rooms. But, why would you want to be inside when you have the beautiful Alaskan outdoors that beckons you? There is so much to do in and around Fairbanks. This home is a great base camp for all of your bucket list activities...Artic Circle, Dog sledding, Alaskan skiing, Ice Carving Champioinships, The Santa Claus House at North Pole, Denali National Park, Museum of the North, whatever your heart desires.

There is a washer and dryer and laundry pods in the house for your use.

Bathroom has a tub/shower combo, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body soap and black make-up wash rags for your use. There are reverse osmosis spigots in both the bathroom and kitchen for drinking and cooking.

There is a firepit that is seasonally accessible with Adirondack chairs and tables. We aso have a deck.

There are steps up to enter the front door as well as stairs to the the main bedroom which is on the 2nd floor. The bathroom is on the first floor.

We have Ring Doorbell video surveilance on the property for security, outdoors only, as well as the 2 outdoor Aurora cams. All of these devices also have two-way audio capabilities.

No smoking or vaping is allowed anywhere on the property. No pets.

You will be required to sign a lease agreement which will be sent to you after you book.

4 adult maximum, but we can accommodate up to 6 guests including children. Weight limit on top bunk of 120 lbs.

Mosquitos are an issue in Alaska when it isn't freezing. Come prepared with mosquito repellent if you plan to be outside much, not just at the house, but everywhere in the great Alaskan outdoors. This is not a refundable issue, it is nature.

Aurora viewing success
We brought our three girls along with us to try to see the northern lights! This was the perfect place for our family. It is very cute and clean. The aurora viewing cameras put this place over the top. Darlene was so helpful sending us tips and links to help us reach our goal of seeing the lights. It is in an amazing location being close enough to town for convenience but far enough out that you have all the privacy and seclusion expected in an Alaskan experience. Everything is up to date and cozy. We would definitely come back.

Great Alaskan get away
We came to Fairbanks to visit with family. What a great property! It is just a few minutes down the highway from the airport and anywhere that we wanted to go in Fairbanks, but it felt very private. We watched birds on the pond in the mornings and evenings, and we even saw a moose from the bedroom window this morning before we checked out. The main bed upstairs was SO comfy and there was a tower fan to keep us cool while it was raining and when we had to keep the windows closed. The kitchen is well equipped for a short stay (we were there for a week). All linens were easy to access, and there were extra pillows. So much thought has gone into setting this home up for visitors. ❤️ Some work had been done in the yard prior to our arrival, so I was glad that we had an all wheel drive vehicle for accessing the drive, but I’m sure that will be taken care of soon as the owners are so invested in providing a top notch experience for their guests. This didn’t affect our views from the home at all. We had family game nights thanks to the games provided in the home. That was a highlight for me during the stay. There were so many “little thoughtful touches”. The owners were Great! Any needs that arose during our trip were addressed promptly and with concern for our comfort. It was a real pleasure working with them to arrange our stay.

Quiet cottage with a view
The cottage is adorable and very comfortable. Its equipped with everything you need, and while being quite secluded, its is still close enough to Fairbanks.

Perfect place to stay
We loved staying at the Aurora Moose Lodge! It was so cozy and comfortable with a great view from the deck of our own personal pond. The cabin was newly remodeled and had everything we needed to make our stay fantastic! It is also in a perfect location, just a few minutes from town, and very private. I would definitely recommend staying here and would absolutely stay here again!

We are Aurora chasers who just love Fairbanks. It has great outdoor activities in the summertime. Ice Carving Championships in February and March. Aurora chasing September through April.

All this makes Fairbanks amazing all year long.

Come, make yourself at home and enjoy the nature show!

Why they chose this property

Located on the outskirts of beautiful Fairbanks, Alaska, this home is perfect for Aurora viewing. Chena Ridge is between the house and downtown Fairbanks, so it blocks the light pollution for amazing Aurora views; Yet, the house is close enough to town to be super convenient. We are only 8 minutes to the airport.

The very private setting of this home has a pond view, which of course is frozen over in winter, making this home a relaxing escape from reality.

What makes this property unique

You have a good possibility of seeing the Aurora from inside the house on a clear night with favorable Aurora activity. This is a secluded home with a beautiful pond view (frozen over in winter). Great location. Peaceful setting. And you might even see a moose.
