About this property

Laura's View Tower - King, Large Bathtub, Birding

Laura’s Tower is truly one of a kind.

Nestled in an enviable location on the edge of town, the Tower offers spectacular views of Paonia, the river valley, and the Grand Mesa beyond. Designed for romantic escapes, remote work retreats, family vacations, and longer stays, the spacious two-story home combines comfort, creativity, privacy, and nature in a way that guests consistently describe as unforgettable.

As part of a major life transition, our two beloved vacation rentals — Kale’s Cottage and Laura’s Tower — are now officially being offered for sale, with transfer to a new owner planned for October. For nearly a decade, these handcrafted spaces on a peaceful one-acre sanctuary at the edge of Paonia have welcomed travelers, birders, artists, musicians, remote workers, families, and adventure seekers from around the world.

This is an incredibly rare opportunity to become only the second owner-operator of two deeply loved and well-established vacation rentals in the heart of Colorado’s North Fork Valley.

Laura’s Tower vacation rental is private, including parking areas, multiple deck spaces, balconies, gardens, and outdoor sitting areas surrounded by towering cottonwoods, fruit trees, lush greenery, and expansive mountain view corridors. Well-behaved pets have loved their stays here over the years, enjoying the peaceful decks and open-air spaces right alongside their humans.

Upstairs, the open floor plan features a king-sized master bed, twin sleeper sofa, private sunny deck, multiple workspaces, 50-inch HDTV, and a spacious bathroom complete with an oversized bathtub and shower. Large windows frame the surrounding valley and mountain landscapes while allowing natural light to pour into the space throughout the day.

Downstairs, the beautifully renovated kitchen includes stone countertops, butcher block island, full range and oven, dishwasher, Liebherr refrigerator, and south-facing windows overlooking Paonia and the mesas beyond. Whether preparing a quiet breakfast or a celebratory dinner, the kitchen was designed to feel both functional and inspiring. A professional BBQ grill on the lower deck extends the experience outdoors during Colorado’s beautiful evenings.

Both bathrooms feature heated flooring for added comfort, while the dining and lounge areas provide cozy separation between gathering, relaxing, and remote work life.

The property itself has become a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers. This year alone, guests have enjoyed sightings and songs from Northern Flickers, Black-capped Chickadees, Mountain Chickadees, Spotted Towhees, American Goldfinches, American Robins, Dark-eyed Juncos, Black-billed Magpies, Eurasian Collared-Doves, House Finches, and many more species that move through the mature trees and surrounding gardens throughout the seasons.

Winter snow showers drifting across the Grand Mesa, spring migration, summer evenings beneath the cottonwoods, and the golden colors of fall have all made this property something deeply special to share.

If you have ever dreamed of stewarding a truly unique and established hospitality property in one of Colorado’s most vibrant small towns, we would love to connect with you.
