The Cantina has two separate entrances as well as stairs that lead to the main house's gardens and pools. Perfect abode for 1-4 couples. This Villa was the Bisop of Pisa's summer residence, and historically is known as a famous Medieval night-club, in its time, a military headquarters in WWII, and the scene of a great deal of history in a lookout hamlet overlooking three giant valleys of fabulous views.
The apartment itself has a large queen bedroom and a giant "dorm" that can sleep a great many guests, or a large group of kids. The unit has a brand new kitchen and bathroom, all Italian tile, and bright; and is otherwise literally the ancient stone and arches that once led out from the village castle.

Why they chose this property
This is a town of 35 houses built in 1012, and at the center of local history, with view in every direction over northern Tuscany, peaceful and traditional, quiet and yet 5 minutes from a great little city with everything, including beauty, rivers, stores, routes to all major Italian areas, but few tour buses or major crowds. The apartment is the downstairs of a house that is 800 years old and was built for a Bishop; it dominates the tiny town's one street. The apartment has a magnificent view over a large area, including Carerra quarries, many hill towns around, and beautiful farm and forested vistas, and a very impressive view down the valley.
What makes this property unique
The large apartment is all stone walls with arches and an ancient feeling, with huge and numerous chestnut roof beams and rafters, tiled floors, and screened windows; it is a very beautiful and very old space, totally re-done with modern bathroom (shower) and kitchen (disposal, washer, etc.). This is a totally peaceful setting but a short short drive to many interesting and entertaining settings, including Barga and Lucca, and famous hill towns.
