About this property

Spacious Gulf Coast mini resort with heated swimming pool, kayaks, paddleboards.

Experience the quiet beauty and natural wonders of the Tampa Bay and views of the Gulf of Mexico at this large home on a canal on a tiny island. Enjoy the heated pool and attached spa, or use our kayaks and paddleboards to row out to the bay and view the mangroves, wildlife and sea life. You might even spot the manatees that live in our canals! It is illegal to touch, feed or harass the manatees.
Lush and beautiful Emerson Point Preserve is just around the corner at the point of our little island. There are walking trails throughout the preserve/park and you are sure to see white ibises, great blue herons, cranes, anhingas, and many other birds, and you may spots turtles, raccoons and other wildlife. There is a small beach at the point of the preserve that is perfect for watching the sunset.
Beaches are 30 to 40 minutes away including Holmes Beach, Anna Maria Island beaches, and Coquina Beach.
Or spend a day in St. Petersburg, 30 minutes north. Here you’ll find great restaurants, breweries, shopping and world class art museums. Tampa has lots to offer as well being 45 minutes or so north.
Or head south to Bradenton or Sarasota for more great restaurants, a farmers market, the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature, (just across the Manatee River in Bradenton), the Ringling Art Museum in Sarasota, and shopping on St. Armand’s Circle, Sarasota. Also, we are less than a 2 hours drive to Disney World, a little more than an hours drive to Busch Gardens, and the Everglades are about 2 1/2 to 3 hours south where you can take a tour on an airboat and try to spot alligators and other South Florida wildlife.
There is so much to do here in southwest Florida, but you might just prefer relaxing at our little private water oasis in a quiet canal community where we provide beach towels, floats, and sunscreen. And after a day enjoying the water activities or beaches, relax in our media room with theater system where you can stream your favorite shows. We look forward to making your stay special! We offer a 5% discount for a 7 or more night booking, and a 10% discount for a full month booking. PLEASE NOTE: We do have a cat. He will not be on the property during your stay and the house will be thoroughly and professionally cleaned before you arrive. But please take this into consideration if anyone in your party is allergic to cats. Thanks!

We had the pleasure of staying in Alli's home for 6 weeks this winter. The home is very comfortable and very well appointed. Our children and grandchildren visited though out our stay; there is plenty of room for all. We really enjoyed time spent in the pool and hot tub. The walk to the nearby nature reserve became a daily activity. Alli was very responsive to all our questions.I would highly recommend this property to anyone vacationing in southwest Florida.

This house is a gem! The house is spacious, has a lot of character and is in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It's an awesome set up. We had fun using the kyaks and paddle boards and taking long walks to Emerson Point. The two weeks spent there was extremely relaxing! My whole family was sad to leave. I highly recommend!!

Love this gorgeous home. Alli was super communicative and the home decor was over the top! Pool and hot tub were beautiful. The kayaks were a hit. Saw lots of Manatees. Even though the weather wasn’t great this home made you forget about it!! Would highly recommend this A VRBO Home!!

This is an absolutely charming house with every amenity possible. The media room and pool area were our favorites when not exploring the state park and the nearby tourist areas, not to mention boating on the Myaka river and Tampa bay. Our hosts made sure everything was just right and were readily available for any questions or help we needed.

Amazing stay!

This was a fantastic trip! The house is located right on the water with so much to do. There are kayaks and paddle boards that are easy to get right out on the water. The house is spacious with a great kitchen with everything you could need. The neighborhood is a short walk from nature trails where we saw so much wildlife. Would recommend to anyone!

Spring family fun

Totally relaxing venue, with plenty of room for 8 couples plus infant. Enough activities at location to fill days with swimming, kayaking, paddle boards, fishing and hiking. Fantastic vaca

This home was beautiful. We had a great vacation. Four young grandchildren and we couldn’t get them out of the pool. Kayaks with the manatees swimming along side was awesome. We had movie night in the media room. We didn’t leave the house much because it was so perfect

We could not ask for more

That pretty much sums it up. There are many reasons we chose this special place for the second consecutive year for our family vacation. We love the location, everything about the property itself with every possible amenity to accommodate guests of all ages, the safe environment for our grandchildren, who love this place, the proximity to local waters, the beaches, great restaurants - the list goes on and on. I think most importantly the beautiful and inviting atmosphere created by the thoughtful and highly responsive hosts who have made me feel that they wanted to ensure our stays have been everything we wanted them to be, and, they certainly have with so many special memories made. Hedrick's Christmas Vacation 2024

At Christmas all I ask my kids and grandkids is to give us the week after Christmas for some real family time together. I look for a place that is not only comfortable but also special. This house exceeded our expectations! We loved it! We were all so sad to leave. The house was better than the pictures, the private pool was wonderful. I honestly left feeling that I could write a novel or create a beautiful work of art even though I am neither a writer nor an artist. Allison, the owner, was a joy to work with. If your family is looking for a beautiful home to spend some quality time together I highly recommend you consider this property!

Beautiful and spacious

We were in the area for my daughter's lacrosse tournament and chose this property for its proximity to the fields as well as the number of bedrooms, as my parents met and stayed with us. It is a beautiful home right on a canal that flows into a bayou. The home has plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and also have larger gatherings. The kayaks were amazing; saw manatees the next canal over as well as a ton of birds in the bayou nearby. The spa felt amazing after kayaking in the cool waters. Emerson Point Preserve had a lot of birds and walking trails. Short drives to St. Pete's and Anna Maria Island. Allie was a fantastic host. Quite a lovely property and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in the area.

Wonderful vacation home!

Our family had an amazing time in Palmetto. The house is beautiful and has everything you need to feel right at home. The owners were very responsive - providing information about the home and area as well as great fishing tips for our teenagers. While the weather was a little colder than desired, we had a great time kayaking in the mornings out to the preserve area - kids caught a lot of fish in the canals as well as off the dock. The hot tub was great for the chilly nights. The kitchen and den area were the perfect spot for making meals and hanging out in the evenings. Plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind from the day's adventures. Snead Island is a great community - we spent NYE at the house and were delighted to watch the golf cart parade as well as see the luminaries lining the streets. We walked down the road and watched the fire works along the water. The location was an easy drive to the Tampa airport as well Anna Marie Island. The description of a "mini-resort" is spot on! Highly recommend!

Perfect Family Getaway

Everything about our stay in this beautiful place was perfect. The thoughtful and highly responsive hosts have taken every step to ensure that you have everything to enjoy your stay and provided excellent communication before, during and after the stay. The house itself is charming, full of personality and interest with spacious rooms, appointed with every amenity. The theatre style media room offers every possible streaming service and was a hit, especially with our two year old grandchildren. The large kitchen contains every pot, pan, tool and device needed to prepare any dish. The generously sized pool is suitable for all ages, and surrounded by stylish fencing offering security for small children. The front yard is also surrounded by a picket fence that offered our grandchildren a safe space to run and play. The boat dock area is well equipped and the adjacent floating dock provided a perfect place to stage my boat as well as convenient launching for kayaks and paddle boards that are available. The grounds themselves are beautifully maintained and remind you that you are in paradise, located in a prime area with easy access to anything you need: shopping, great restaurants, airports, beaches, and a nature preserve. The neighborhood itself is quiet and great for walking, running or biking. This special place provided everything we were looking for to make unforgettable memories. We could not have asked for more and will surely return.

We want to provide great vacations for our guests!

Our property is away from the commercialism of the public beaches but still close. And being on a canal with access to the bayous and open waters of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico allows exquisite kayaking and paddle boarding experiences, right from the backyard dock. And of course, Emerson Point Preserve is right here, offering great walking/biking trails and wildlife viewing, with a small beach area perfect for watching the sunset!
The house itself is large and the remodeled kitchen is well equipped for cooking and just spending time together. The media room has a projector and very large screen, so movie nights are a must!
