This was the perfect place to escape to the mountains. The house itself is surrounded by farms in which you will have the pleasure of seeing cows, horses, and lots of deer. However the drive up is a purely scenic mountain climb. The perfect location to many of Kentucky's distillerys on the Bourbon Trail. 10/10 recommend!
The Farmhouse Cottage was perfect for our Derby weekend stay. The house is well-appointed with lots of special touches to make your stay more comfortable. It feels like staying in someone's home, not just any Vrbo. It has a rural feel, but is close to many attractions. Views from the porch are incredible, and a great place to drink a cup of coffee while watching the cows. Checking in and out were very easy, and the host was responsive.

The location was perfect, away from the traffic and city noise we are used to living near Chicago. Darlene has a wonderful eye for decorating as the inside of the home was beautiful. Everything we needed, except for a few meals purchased at a grocery store, was provided. We so appreciated just sitting on either the front or rear porch and enjoying nature.
The home was clean and quiet. It’s centrally located being only minutes from Wild Turkey, Four Roses, Larriken, Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace and other distilleries. A great restaurant (The Stace)is close as well. Wonderful food & bourbon bar. I highly recommend this home.
When we arrive on Saturday, the smell inside the house was very offputting. We almost had to leave. I believe the smell was from the fact that the house was closed up and the house is old. There needs to be some ventilation while the house is closed. We lit candles and opened up the house and then the smell was bearable. Also, the beds were very small. I know the advertisement stated that the beds were double size beds, my bad, I should have noticed the wording in the ad. The master bedroom could easily accommodate a queen size bed.
This house was very clean and put together perfectly. They had everything you would want for a weekend stay. The host was very good at communicating everything with us.
This little farmhouse was a great place to get away for a long weekend. Short drive to many different distilleries and downtown Frankfort. Nice outdoor areas to relax and watch the deer wander pass.
The house has old farmhouse feel, like a trip back in time to Grandma's. Well furnished with everything a couple or small family needs for a lengthy stay. Beautiful rolling hills view from covered back deck and the only sound is cattle in the distance. Perfect getaway in center of bourbon country.
Bourbon trail was awesome and the house was as advertised.

quiet country living close to bourbon distilleries. Definitely need a car to get to towns for dining etc.
Home was like staying at Grandma house - charming.
Very well stocked with everything you can think of.
We enjoyed nighly fires around the fire pit in the backyard - just lovely.
The location was convenient to town, wineries, and distilleries, although off the beaten path. The charming house allowed for relaxation in a quiet setting surrounded by fields of cows and deer grazing each night. The host was responsive if contacted. We had all of the comforts of home and found it very relaxing.
Love this beautiful quaint cottage. It was perfect as usual. We had a blast. Loved sitting on the back porch and watching the deer in the evenings and early mornings. It brings a sense of peace to be there. So excited that this property was available again this year. I would highly recommend!
Take a step back into the 1940s in this delightful cottage with appropriately selected modern conveniences. Enjoy the rural environment while being just moments from sevetal of the most popular distilleries.
This property is an amazing vintage farmhouse cottage set in a farming community with quick access to distilleries and horse farms. Deer grazed in the yard every night. The drive to the property is picturesque. The house was furnished with country antiques and had all the kitchen and bath amenities you would need. My sister and I loved it!
This property is a must stay, for anyone looking for privacy and peace. There would be no need to bring anything but clothes and food, the home is so well stocked and beautifully kept. Do yourself a favor and try it, you will not be dissapointed. Darlene is the top 10 host, #1 on my list.

Oh, this was just what we needed. The farm was the perfect decompression location. We could hear cows, geese - the deer were all over the backyard. The area was quiet. The cottage was adorable. I felt like I was at my grandma's house - so comforting. If you need a place to go away from the city, this is where you need to go. We were able to chat with the host; she was great.
Came in town for an event and had a wonderful stay. The property made you feel like you were at home. It was clean and quite comfortable. Loved the quiet surroundings. We sat a lot either on the back porch watching the cows or sitting out on their front porch enjoying the cool weather. If you are coming to this area, and looking for a relaxing, peaceful get away, I would highly recommend this property. It was excellent and I hope to stay there again on my next visit to KY.
