A wonderful condo, complete with kitchen, a lanai with an amazing view, and located close to the beach. It was clean, well stocked, and we loved our stay here!
The place was located at a very peaceful and quiet location, room was adequate enough for my family and the host was quick to reply to attend to our needs! Also you can’t beat the price!
Condo worked perfect as a homebase. We basically ate out all the time and stayed at the beach most of the time the sun was out. Met so many fantastic neighbors. We would definitely stay here again.

Mahalo nui Tom! Glad you enjoyed your stay in Makaha! We look forward to when you can return.
We had a beautiful stay in Makaha! The apartment was the perfect size for me and my two friends and it had everything we needed! The apartment complex is well organized, clean and safe and had a super pretty beach in walking distance as well as a bus stop, parking and laundry machines. The check-in was super easy and the chat with Nainoa was nice and helpful! Mahalo!
Had a great stay! Studio is in a beautiful and safe location. The mountains that come up to the back of the property are breathtaking. We even saw wild goats of some kind. The peacocks around the property are beautiful, although they do make some noise in the mornings.
The studio was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay with my husband and oldest child. We didn’t spend much time inside, but the beach towels that were left for our use were helpful on our day excursions. Thank you for the stay!

Pleasant stay
Overal stay was pleasant. We had a very nice view from the balcony, used the bbq area on several occasions, which was great and kids enjoyed the swimming pool, which was a great evening addition to the beautiful beach. The host was quick with responses and helpful. The only negative for my family was that the room was not so clean and needs updating. Also, there was no washing card. We ended up buying it from the office and paying just to much for one wash.

Thank you Aga! I did ensure the room was really clean before your arrival. Perhaps a little dust had blown in from the lanai. Winds had been somewhat heavy during that time.
One of the major highlights of our stay at this property was the exceptional hospitality Nainoa offered our family. From the moment I sent a message inquiring about the property prior to booking, right through to the moment of this review, Nainoa was one of the most kind, thoughtful and friendly hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of connecting with via text.
I had a few concerns based on the first review of Nainoa’s property, but Nainoa was very genuine and comprehensive in his response to me and assured me that his space had been thoroughly cleaned, and well equipped with essentials to make our stay comfortable.
While the beds could not be folded up, they were indeed very comfortable and we loved the soft sheets and pillows provided. There was also an abundant amount of bath and beach towels, which were just perfect for our nearby beach outings.
Overall the property is quite dated as other reviewers have noted, with furnishings showing their age, as well as the cosmetics of the kitchen. The floor was also really quite sandy and dusty when we arrived and while we found a broom to use in the closet, I imagine that even a small, portable vacuum could be really handy for longer term stays. I’d also kindly suggest adding more dishes and utensils.
However, as our family was staying for just a couple of days, we truly found that it really had all that we needed to feel comfortable and Nainoa’s kindness made practical just perfect 👍

Mahalo nui Rebecca! Reviews like this really help me improve the vacation condo for all my guests 🤙🏽🙂
When we arrived at the security gate we were informed that we didn't meet the condo owners association's occupancy rules. Reason: my wife's name had not been submitted by owner.
We weren't allowed on premises until the condo manager was contacted and a temporary approval was given. We had to report to condo office the following morning to fill out extra paperwork, prepay for parking and additional parking security deposit (these fees had to be made in cash not debit or credit card). surprised arriving to shoes on landing, TV on and dishes in the sink. The drapes were either missing or could not be drawn.
We are in our 60's and just adjusted to the situation.
It would have been nice to have had a welcome note from owner, as the fridge and freezer had a lot of jars of condiments along with bags of vegetables, some wilted, etc. Recomened if these are not the owners items (if owners occupys unit occasionally) that at least the fridge is cleaned out between guests.
I would suggest that the over range microwave be removed and replaced with a venthood with light, as the light at the range and kitchenette is poor.
Overall, aside from that listed above, we enjoyed our stay. The location and views were hard to beat.

Mahalo for all the suggestions and feedback.
I wasn't able to submit your wife's name because it was not provided until you folks arrived at the property and security called me. A previous guest was supposed to pick up their shoes. I usually kept a few condiments in the fridge as guests had mentioned they liked the convenience of not having to shop for so many items. Unfortunately the parking rules are set by the building association.

Has potential
Owner needs to be more involved with this unit. He told us he had a long term renter(a couple of months) that told him that he had cleaned the unit, and he took his word for it. He went to the unit the night before our arrival and discovered the QN size Murphy bed was broken. He sent a message on VRBO, 5 hours before we landed on Oahu, telling us the bed was broken but he thought it would be okay. He said we might need to put the pillows from the couch under the foot end to hold it up.
Upon our arrival, the bed was not okay, the unit was filthy and there were no amenities. We checked the smaller Murphy bed and found that it was broken, too. I called the owner and told him that my husband tried sitting on the bed and it collapsed. He said he could get some bricks to put under the bed and bring them to the unit but it would be a couple of hours since he was on the other side of the island. He, also, said they could pick up some dishes, after I told him we had planned to cook and there was nothing to cook or eat with.
Hours later, they showed up with bricks to put under the bed, a 3-piece skillet set, 2 bowls, 4 glasses, a 16-piece utensil set, 1 spatula, 2 sponges, and 6 rolls of paper towels.
There were 2 new towels, 1 new hand towel, 4 new washrags, new sheets and pillow cases on the QN Murphy bed, a new smaller blanket on the bed, and possibly 2 new pillows.
Unit needs a new microwave as the current one does not work. Stove cooktop works, but oven baking temperature is not accurate. There is not a coffee maker or coffee pot. Curtain rod for drapes over one of the sliding glass doors is broken. Both sliding glass doors have screen doors to let nice breezes in. Unit has an A/C that works well.
Owner was easy to get ahold of and work with. He seemed to feel bad about all of the issues, wanted to know if we needed anything else and what he could do to help. He ended up reducing the nightly rental price because of the issues; reimbursed us for dishes, cleaning supplies and other items we purchased for the unit; and refunded the cleaning and insurance fees. Unfortunately, we didn't gain back any of our vacation time that was spent shopping for and cleaning the unit.
The Makaha Valley is very beautiful and is away from all the craziness of the city. Everyone at The Makaha Towers was very nice and personable. Owner said he hoped we would come back to Makaha and promised the unit would be better. We look forward to seeing this!!

Thank you very much for all the constructive feedback Tamara. I'm glad you enjoyed the overall Makaha area and the building staff and neighbors. Again my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience and for not having the condo meet the standards of what VRBO travelers like yourself expect in a vacation rental. I can certainly understand the frustration and disappointment of not being able to fully enjoy your vacation due to the circumstances.
I will continually assess every aspect of what will make the guests' stay most comfortable and provide the best service and hospitality each of my visitors deserves. As for the issue with murphy beds, I've reached out to a licensed contractor who will help me repair or replace the hardware to ensure guests' safety and comfort. Microwave will also be replaced and more kitchen amenities will be gradually added.
