We stayed during the off season, spending our spring break exploring the driftless area. House was warm & welcoming and we enjoyed the hot tub. Very hands off communication with the host. We had everything we needed. Roadway was busy but the noise didn’t bother us. Fun spot!
Cabin was just exactly set up the way it should be. Plenty of room beautiful views all amenities were there from cook surfaces to grill room to sleep. People enjoyed the hot tub. Just great experience.
Cabin was cozy, especially with a fire going. We had a great view of the stars and a meteor shower at night. Local recommendations for sights, food, gas, firewood, etc were spot on. Some of the cutlery/ utensils weren't completely clean (maybe from the previous guest) but we clean before using regardless.
Loved staying at the Lazy River Cabin and would definitely stay again! Very cozy property and perfect location on the river with quick access to other streams. Huge bonus with the hot tub, too.
It was amazing! Such a beautiful place and so well maintained! The views are stunning, the fishing was good and the quaint little town of Dorchester is a real jewel!. I fell in love with The Driftless
This cabin is amazing. The scenery is perfect for a getaway. The river being right outside made it a nice view, good fishing, and we did a float right to the cabin. We will definitely stay here again.
Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Liked that the cabin was exactly as advertised. 3 bedrooms was what we wanted, and space to have our things. Was a complete property, as in its a turn key stay. Just bring your food and drink, and enjoy the wonderful views and scenery.
Overall our stay was very pleasant. The property was mostly clean but did have dead flies and ladybugs around. There was also a mouse in the lower level.
The cabin is large and comfortable. Excellent setup for two couples and children. Inside was clean. The outside needs some picking up, which is to be expected in early springtime in Iowa. Some of the utensils, such as the can opener and vegetable peeler, need replacing.
My family met with the rest of my family at this cabin for a Christmas get together. We had a relaxing time being together in the cabin. Only thing that seemed odd was the amount of lights flickering and also electricity had shut off two times while we were there. Otherwise we loved it and wonder about visiting in the summertime too.
Surprised to see a tiny house just 500 feet from the cabin and the garage by the cabin being renovated as another cabin to rent; No one else stayed the days we did so we had the place to ourselves. It also appears that there will be more rentals going up soon, so the information and picture of the place should be updated. Otherwise, Gabby answered all questions promptly and check-in was a breeze! Enjoyed our stay!!

Kelly, your review is not correct. You ASSUME that the garage will be a separate rental - which is not true. The garage is being renovated to be part of THIS rental and not an additional/ separate one. Eventually we will add a game room in it. So no need for updating the add since we are not even close to completion and it looks the same as the pictures show.
