About this property
Amazing Mountain Views HOT TUB Fire Pit Remote Location Pet Friendly
Eagles Nest is perched 3600 ft high with amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and clouds dancing between the peaks. The setting is a perfect venue to go for walks, fishing, take in mother nature, or simply decompress. Cathedral ceilings, gas brick fireplace and details like log pillars in the loft add to the charm without sacrificing the everyday modern conveniences of a newer home. Close to Bakersville, Spruce Pine, Burnsville, Blue Ridge Pkwy and just over an hour from Asheville. There is a flat screen HD TV, desk, lazy boy and rocking chair flanking the fireplace along with a futon/couch. Enjoy the gourmet kitchen with a coffee bar, five burner gas stove, dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer with an ice maker, granite countertops and custom cabinetry. The large covered porch spans the back of the house, offering front row seats to the mountain ranges and in the morning, the smoking cloud formations between the peaks. There are Adirondack chairs, and a gas grill for cooking and table and chairs for dining al fresco. The Primary bedroom is off the great room and features a white cedar king size bed, flat screen tv and an en suite bath with two pedestal sinks. Upstairs, you will find a loft bedroom with two twin beds, a full bath, and a high top table with chairs in front of a window featuring panoramic views of the mountains. There's also a cozy built in cushioned bench overlooking the hot tub and woods. The lower level has a king size bed, full bath and a table for card playing, games or anything else. The front porch is a great place to take in some of the wooded grounds, or head directly to the 5 person hot tub cantilevered to soak in the views or a bit further down the slope you will find our custom built fire pit. The serene and private community has lots of meandering roads and trails to take in the beauty of the mountains, walk the dogs, or simply hike in solitude and likely not see another person.
The entire home and grounds are there for your enjoyment. Other things to note, although it's fairly easy to reach Eagles Nest, please keep in mind the roads are gravel for most of the way up the mountain. In icy or snowy conditions, we would suggest all wheel drive or four wheel vehicles only. Otherwise, it's a lot of hairpin turns but navigable.
Please note we are pet friendly but we do charge a $100 non refundable pet fee.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property after looking for quite some time. We wanted to find a property that offered privacy in a remote location but also close to a lot of amenities, dining, entertainment, grocery stores and offered a lot to do in the way of outdoor activities.

What makes this property unique
The views were the first thing we noticed. Eagles Nest is aptly named as it appears perched on the side of the mountain as you approach the property. Situated on over three and a half acres, there's plenty of room of what we call "vignettes" to enjoy from the outside side deck with a hot tub, to the front porch with rocking chairs overlooking the woods or what we think is the best view - the open porch in the back that takes in the long and short range mountain views, smoking clouds in the morning between the peaks, every changing shadows cast as the sun moves from east to the west.
Inside the home, the hardwood floors matched with the tongue and groove cathedral ceilings, the tall Rumsford gas lit fireplace, views of the mountains from the back or through the bay window on the side will certainly catch your attention. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare a small intimate gathering or up to comfortably eight. There are also three bedrooms, three bathrooms (The first bedroom is the primary bedroom and bath, one bedroom is the loft upstairs with its own full bath and the other bedroom is the lower level with a king bed and full bath).
Pets are welcome of all sizes and shapes. This is really a place to bring the whole family including the furry ones.
Leaving Eagle’s Nest, here are some distances not too far away.
Bakersville and Spruce Pine:
1.4 miles (7 min) to the community gate/Rockdale Rd., then 6.7 miles (12 min) to Bakersville then 10.8 miles (16 min) to Spruce Pine.
