Great place to stay for our family. Loved having lots of bedrooms for the kids and 2 bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen, AC was excellent with 3 mini splits. Would definitely book again. Quiet neighbourhood with very little traffic.
The property was great, clean, air conditioning was cold. Communications with the host was answered quickly. We were there for 6 days and the weather accommodated our stay.
I came with some friends for a retreat and we could not have been more pleased with the accommodations at the house. It was so beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and cozy. What more could we ask for. Thank you for. A lovely stay.
The houses was nice and clean great location to where we were fishing from. The kitchen area was set up well with coffee, tea, and water for making coffee and condiments.
Our first time staying in a vrbo. Alicia was great, answered all of our questions right away. Great location for ice fishing. The cabin was extremely well stocked, comfortable and clean. Highly recommend !
The property was clean, a great size and super accommodating with a huge amount at amenities that our family really enjoyed. Would highly recommend and would book again.
We were 7 seniors who have known each other over 40 years. Having 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was a blessing. The hot tub was an added bonus as was the dishwasher, lots of dishes, towels etc…The dining table was large enough to accommodate us all for meals, cards etc… The smart tv allowed us access to our devices and the photos on them for viewing which was wonderful as we do not all live in the same province! The only thing missing were ice cube trays to prepare our own ice! We weren’t sure recycling was done in the area but used blue recycling bags for those items and left them in the kitchen. An excellent rental!
We enjoyed the coziness of this cabin. The cabin looks so unique. Everything was well stocked and clean. The beds were comfortable, smart tv and wi-fi was great! Alicia responded quickly when I had concerns and questions. We would stay here again, maybe we’ll try during summer time! :) Thank you for letting us stay in your cozy cabin.
We loved our time at the Eh Frame! It absolutely exceeded our expectations. It was well stocked and we found we actually packed too much because they’ve thought of everything. Communication with owners is easy! Loved our stay and are currently booking for next year!
Pulling up to the house, it's super welcoming with the string lights on and the fire pit surrounded by rocking chairs beckoning visitors to leave their cares behind. Walking around to the back, a new deck with more string lights and a hot tub further encourage an escape from the day to day. Once inside, it looks newly redone with fresh paint, but the furniture and decor keep it looking cozy. Fair warning for taller people, although the sloped walls provide a unique ambiance, it does require awareness for where you are walking.
During our stay we did walk over to the beach, short walk with minimal traffic. We did a lot of driving around to various nearby towns for grocery, fishing, hiking, etc. Access to the highways was pretty easy. There were also numerous bikes around, for those who choose to ride. Overall, a lovely visit in a quaint area.
The property was great but the owners were not. We stayed at this property for 2 nights and had a fire on the first. We used the glass sliding door due to there being a large rip in the screen door, which we kept open. The morning after night 1, the owners texted at 9am (we were all asleep) and said they were stopping by to grab something from the garage. This wasnt an issue but felt as though they were spying on us. The rest of our stay was fine. We had a wedding to go to, so didnt spend much time at the cabin.
When we got home from the cabin i received texts from the owners blaming us for ripping the screen door and accusing us of smoking weed in the cabin. They said that the cleaners had to do double the cleaning. The owners are trying to charge me $400 for this.
We did not smoke anything inside the cabin, we most definitely did not rip the screen, and we even took out all of the garbage and recycling. The only instructions left for us was to load and start the dishwasher, which we did. We also made sure to double check every room and put all dirty towels in the bathrooms.
Beware of these owners and if you do rent this cabin, take photos upon arrival and vefore you leave.

Disliked: Cleanliness
We frequently rent vacation homes and are usually thrilled with the accommodations, but we found this rental lacking. It is aesthetically pleasing and well stocked but it lacked the cleanliness and privacy we sought. The biggest issue we experienced was the dirty oven that set off the smoke alarm the first day we arrived. We had to air out the house from the smoke to quiet the smoke alarm. It was an unsettling experience for everyone in our family. Once notified about the stove, Alicia sent in a cleaner the next day to clean the oven. Having the cleaner come into the home interrupted what was to be a peaceful time away without people coming and going. Due to allergies and sensory sensitivities we could not be in the home when the stove was being cleaned. The cameras onsite (front and back of the cabin) are intrusive. We would not have stayed at this location had we been aware of the cameras. The condition of the stove made us wonder what else hadn’t been cleaned before our stay…We were happy to be leaving at the end of our stay and didn't find the stay worth the cost.
This is a great cabin that is very well stocked. The host was friendly and helpful. The hot tub makes it a perfect spot. Close to the lake and a great convenience store in Matlock. An easy drive to Winnipeg.
Cottage was very thoughtful , clean and comfortable! The pictures are accurate! Great location for the wedding we attended. The overall community was wonderful! We did have concerns with the cameras on the property-and the alleged handy man who came to the premises when we were not there. It did appear the hosts were spying on us- although there explanation was satisfactory. I I had told them in advance our dog would be there- they accused me of not telling them- however was able to prove in an email that was sent August 12th- advising them. They did apologize for this and acknowledged they missed the email.Overall- it is a nice place! We are long term users of VRBO and have an excellent record of renting. We did enjoy the stay.
We stayed here for a wedding nearby. It was clean, well stocked, and in an incredibly quiet and well kept neighbourhood. Walk easily to Matlock beach, or use as a great stepping off point for adventures further afield. Due to the A-frame architecture, be prepared for a little manoeuvring in the upstairs rooms, especially if you’re tall. If that’s a concern the bedroom downstairs is very cozy and comfortable. Lovely stay.
We stayed here for 4 nights, the cabin is adorable. It was clean & well stocked with all the amenities we could have hoped for and more. We can’t wait to stay here again one day!
One thing we would love to see added in the future is a clothes line for drying bathing suits and towels more efficiently.
Absolutely fantastic stay for our family members and friends attending a wedding in the area! The host is very easy to communicate with and the accommodation is excellent!
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Matlock area!!!
The place is a lot bigger than it looks on the pictures. We appreciated the firepit, the hot tub and having everything available. All we had to bring was food, bathing suit and whatever else we were going to need. It is well kept and felt very comfortable. It was welcoming right down to the little decors. Neighbourhood was very quiet.
