About this property
Modern Mountain Getaway in Connestee Falls now with a Tesla charger!
We call our home The Happy Place. It's in the Connestee Falls gated community near Brevard in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Connestee Falls has beautiful lakes, breathtaking natural beauty and a championship golf course. The amenities here are spectacular, and the residents welcome guests to share the beauty of the four stocked mountain lakes, waterfalls galore, miles of private hiking trails, and full club benefits including: a pool, hot tub, golf, tennis, pickle ball, bocce, and clubhouse dining (both a casual Grill and the lovely Overlook Restaurant where you might see a herd of deer or a lovely sunset).
Our open floor plan is perfect for relaxation and entertaining. The three level house is well designed for a couple, a family, multiple generations or multiple families. There is plenty of space to gather or have quiet time. The kitchen is well stocked with typical appliances (blender, toaster, coffee maker, Keurig, mixer) cookware, bake-ware, utensils, serving dishes and dishes. We want guests to be able to use the kitchen as they would their own and have provided everything we can think of for making a casual dinner to a full Thanksgiving dinner. There is plenty of dining space for your whole group, including a large dining table plus bar seating at the kitchen island. Relax in the modern main level living room and enjoy music on the Sonos speaker, a movie or game on the big TV, and stay warm and cozy near the gas fireplace. There are smart TVs in every bedroom along with two large TVs in the main level living room and the family/game room.
The main level deck has a gas grill and an outdoor table for dining, as well as comfy Adirondack chairs for relaxing. This space is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee/tea or a glass of wine in the wooded surroundings. Our Deer friends often come to visit in the morning and evening.
The roomy upstairs primary suite features a king bed and a daybed that can be used as two twin beds (for littles). Of course, all linens are provided. The spacious bathroom has a huge soaking tub, dual vanities and a small tiled shower. The master also has a small private deck overlooking the forest where you might see a variety of birds, deer or a white squirrel.
There is a comfy queen bedroom on the main level. There is also a dedicated office space on the main level with two convertible sleepers that can be used as two twin beds or as a king. Linens (twin or king) and fluffy bed pads are provided for extra comfort.
Downstairs, you will find two more comfortable bedrooms. The first has a king bed while the other has a queen sized bed.
On the lower level you will also find the family/game room space with a huge TV, a ping pong table, board games, darts and lots of comfortable seating.
We recommend that during your stay you take some time to explore Connestee Falls. The Community has the feel of a park with its beautiful lakes, wildlife and walking/hiking trails. Guests are welcome to enjoy a wide range of outdoor attractions and activities that offer something for just about everyone. The house is a very short, mostly flat, walk to the Clubhouse (pool, hot tub, tennis, pickle ball, bocce, dining, and golf). From the house you can also easily walk to two lakes (Tiaroga and Ticoa) for swimming or fishing. Lake Atagahi Park, with a sandy beach for swimming and a wonderful playground, is a short drive through the neighborhood.
From The Happy Place you are only minutes away from beautiful Brevard, known for its dynamic live music, fabulous restaurants, craft breweries, and quaint shops. Some of our favorite spots are 185 King Street for causal dinner and music, Square Root, Vescovo, or Wild Morel for a nice dinner, Morning Social for breakfast/lunch, Oscar Blues Brewery for music and food trucks, OP Taylors toy shop and Mantiques everything shop. The Hub is a great bike shop near Piscah for biking needs. Area 22 is a wonderful guitar shop for string enthusiasts.
The Brevard Music Center is a world renowned training center and brings great entertainment to the area. Every June, faculty and students come together to present over 100 performances encompassing multiple music genres. Over the past 85+ years, BMC has hosted world-class soloists including Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Frederica Von Stade, Conrad Tao, Johannes Moser, Olga Kern, Garrick Ohlsson, and other talented performers. On a summer night you can sit outside on a grassy hill, or in formal seats in the covered theater, and enjoy music ranging from Bluegrass to Opera.
In addition to the above, Brevard hosts several fun seasonal festivals including the White Squirrel Weekend in early June, July Fourth celebrations, the Mountain Song Festival every September, and lots of fun activities for Halloween (Brevard is in Transylvania County, after all).
Cedar Mountain is a quaint village about 5 minutes from Connestee Falls where you can see live music, have a Creekside dinner under the stars, taste moonshine, or hit the local green grocer for fresh local fruits and veggies, a bottle of wine, and even locally made ice cream or baked goods. DuPont State Forest is about a 10 minute drive from Connestee, with outstanding hiking, lovely lakes, water falls and streams. Dupont is known for some of the best mountain biking in North America (Ridgeline). Pisgah National Forest is also close, about 20 minutes, for amazing hiking, sliding on Sliding Rock, or access to the stunning Blue Ridge Parkway. From July to October you can visit Jeter Mountain Farm, also about 20 minutes away, where you can pick a peck of peaches or apples, or a pint of blueberries, or taste some home pressed, small batch hard cider. Gorges State Park is a quick 30 minute drive for amazing hiking, biking, fishing or picnicking. Lake Toxaway is a lovely 35 minute drive for dinner at the Greystone Inn. Asheville and Hendersonville are both 40 minutes away offering great dining, craft breweries, culture and shopping. In the Winter, snow tubing is a 40 minute drive to Cashiers.
There really is something for everyone ! This is a great place to relax or be active. We feel lucky to have found our Happy Place and look forward to hosting your visit. Please feel free to call if you have any questions. Thanks and enjoy your stay at The Happy Place!

About the host
Hosted by Jessica Dumas

We are a family of three from Atlantic Beach, Florida. We rented a house in Connestee Falls when our son went to Camp in Hendersonville a few years ago. We fell in love with the area. My husband and son are mountain bikers so proximity to Dupont was a must. Connestee is lovely, offering so many fun activities for all ages. We love the hiking and often tell our friends that hiking in our community is as good, or better than, the nearby parks. We take all of our visitors on the hike to see Connestee Falls (yes there is actually a big waterfall in the neighborhood and lots of small ones!). The lake fishing is great all year long. The lakes are super clean because the community only allows human powered or electric boats. Our house is cozy for the three of us, but we also host lots of friends and have made every effort to equip the kitchen and house for entertaining. It is a very Happy Place.
Why they chose this property
Hiking. Biking. Mountain Lakes. Peaceful. Tranquil. Close to everything.
What makes this property unique
Connestee has it's own security, and fire/rescue. It's is in a very low crime area. The best part of the community is the hiking trails and the lakes for us. The food in the restaurants is always good. Friends who golf say the course is spectacular.
