This day was great. This is the first time we’ve ever traveled with our pet. It was nice to have a great place to stay with our little dog. We did not use the hot tub. The cabin was private and it was nice to have the fire pit set off toward the back of the house.

American hollow

We loved the area, the quietness and the sounds of nature! Our puppy enjoyed it as well! Close proximity to things to do but far enough away that u feel secluded! Loved it and would love to return

Hocking Hills

We booked American Hollow in 2022 and enjoyed it so much we chose to stay here again in 2024. Shortly after booking we were notified that the American Hollow would be unavailable due to renovations, however the host gave multiple options including staying in one of their other properties for no additional charge or a full refund. We chose to stay at the Lakota which was also great!

Nice getaway, helpful and responsive managers

I had a lovely stay and enjoyed the hot tub and the dvd player a lot. When I went to leave I accidentally got my car stuck, contacted the owners who were very nice about coming and getting my car out of the rut, thanks again Nathan!

Beautiful Cabin

American Hollow was perfect for a weekend exploring the area. The cabin was clean and situated in a completely private wooded area. The hot tub worked great and was also very clean. We enjoyed the various porches and fire pit. The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We would definitely return!

Below average!

Interior so so. Dirty bedspread. Old vanity loosing side skin and dirty. Flooring has issues of deterioration in areas. Outside railing is a safety issue. Wasps nesting above hot tub. Deteriorated wood around hot tub roofed area. Rodents running in ceiling area. Scratching like nesting. I'm sorry but I wouldn't rent it again.

Perfect getaway

The cabin was the perfect place to unplug and get back to nature. Loved the hot tub and the fire ring. Because of the trees/canopy, we felt secluded. Cell service was pretty non existent, but was a welcomed inconvenience. Thank you for sharing the beautiful location

Great cabin!!

The day of check in an unfortunate wind storm came through and knocked the power out but was back on the next morning. Maintenance was great communicating with us. We had another night added to the stay which made up for the electric being off. Cabin was clean, hot tub was very nice, overall stay was great! Would rent again,

Loved the cabin/hate the water.

Was a nice cabin, once there was out of view from other cabins in park area. Was close to all areas that we went there for. Cabin inside was clean on the service. A deep clean is needed. White step in shower was yellow with grit on seats. Water itself smelted like rotton eggs. Use plenty of body soap to mask the egg smell you'll have left on skin. Gas grill had left, right side working, not middle. Hot tub was a 6 seater and had 2 sections working completely. Don't get me wrong i loved the outside and not able to see another cabin, that was great. But when charges are posted for $200. Extra if you leave trash behind. Or you have to strip your own bed down, then clean the cabin. And yes i even did the door windows, walls in bathroom and the floors by hand. Then why you're charged a service fee, and an envelope to tip the clean service. Lastly don't go by the address for this cabin, that entrance is too dangerous for vehicles. Use the main entrance by RV entrance.

Pros & Cons

There were some pros and cons about the place for sure. The pros: The cabin was cute and quaint. Perfect for a couple looking to get away like we were. It was secluded and private which is what we were looking for. The fall colors all over was totally perfect! We enjoyed having cable to watch given theres no service for internet on our phones with AT&T. The bed was so comfy and we slept great! The hot tob was clean and very relaxing! The cons: The address takes you about a mile past the enterance sp dont use a gps. As soon as you walk into the cabin, you were smacked with the smell of mold (this wasnt the smell of the water, two totally different smells). You can see the mold growing above the shower if you are standing inside looking above the curtain. When we got in, it was raining and you can see where there is water coming in on the side by the TV. At least it wasnt near the bed and didnt rain too much. The water is very hard and not treated at all. We are very familiar with well water. The good and the bad about it and when the water smells like straight sulfur like this, its not treated and has a high chance for bacteria. This is some of the worst well water ive ever seen or smelled. The shower curtains and shower were extremely stained from it showing they probably havent been changed on quite a while. The upkeep is just very lacking at this cabin and i would maybe pay $100 a night at most but creeping up to $200 was a little steep for the lack of maintenance.

Finding the cabin was our first hurdle. Directions were great getting to the property but then were a bit confusing when going from the road back to the cabin area. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities but the oven did not get hot to heat up pizza that we had picked up in Logan 30 minutes away. Hot tub was very relaxing. Make sure you take drinking water. Terrible hard stinky water. That was probably the biggest thing for us was the water. Otherwise very relaxing atmosphere at American Hollow cabin.

Short stay

Difficult to find initially with little to no cell service. Gps is not accurate at all. Management was prompt in responding once we had service. Property was newly acquired and needed some TLC but the hot tub was nice. I forgot my toiletry bag on the bathroom door and they were very responsive in returning it toMe in good condition.
