About Matt Kelsch
My name is Matt Kelsch and I live in Carmel, Indiana which is just North of Indianapolis.
Matt Kelsch purchased this House in 2000
Why Matt Kelsch chose Lake Berkley
When I bought my home 10 years ago my 3 kids were 7, 5 and 3 and owning a home so close to Disney World seemed like a great idea. Once my family stayed in a home rather than a hotel, I was sure we would never go back to a hotel and we love being able to enjoy the comforts of a home and private pool as opposed to cramming into a small hotel room.
What makes this House unique
Our home is truly in the nicest neighborhood close to Disney. I have been to many and nothing compares. This fact along with my South facing pool and Hot Tub overlooking the lake make our home a great choice for a relaxing vacation.

Great house for large parties
We stayed at this house for a week along with 2 couples to total 11 people. The layout of the house was perfect and allowed each couple to have their own private space. The rooms were nice sized and clean. Our kids loved the pool and would immediately jump in each afternoon when we arrived back to the home. There is a Walmart super close which we utilized a lot to save money from eating out. The grill was super dirty so we were not able to use it. The TV in the master bedroom would not work. My only major complaint is with the air conditioning unit. It is controlled electronically and can only be lowered to 73 by the occupant. This was comfortable in most of the rooms but it would change back to 76 several times a day, including around midnight. When it would change to 76, the temperature in the home would often go up to 78 and stay there for hours. This was way too warm, especially in the bedrooms that had no ceiling fan. I communicated this to the owner after 3 hours on 78 and he said if it continued, he would send someone out. This was around 8pm on our last night there so we just suffered through it. If they would change the automatic ac changes back up to 76 and let you keep it at 73 throughout your stay, I would highly recommend this house. Otherwise, not sure if we would be repeat customers during the summer again. If 76 to 78 degrees in Florida during the summer works for you, this would be a great house.
A great place to stay close to Disney
Slice of Paradise
Great space for my party of 11. We had the best time and would definitely stay here again! Very clean!
The roku in the master bedroom didn’t work. Only Netflix available on other rokus in house.
The grill was dirty when we got there so we never used it. The master bedroom’s bathroom was not cleaned good at all. Was a dirt ring in the tub and hair as well. The roku in the master didn’t work. I changed the batteries and even tried other remotes from other rooms didn’t help. House was a decent size but I feel it should be equipped and stocked with the essentials. Plenty of toilet tissue, soap, shampoo, and trash bags as well as detergent for clothes and for dish washer. Matthew was very nice and professional though throughout our stay and contact. And the house, despite the minor issues was very nice and roomy.
Pacheco’s Vacation 2019
Very nice home with plenty of space. Nicely located to theme parks and shopping. We had a great time.
Lovely home close to everything!
The Disney Dream House was by far one of the best I’ve ever rented for a vacation! It was very clean, well maintained, well stocked, and honestly can’t be beat for the price considering the space, location, and amenities.
The owner was very friendly and accomodating. We had some weather issues coming and going, but he was great about working with us. We also had a little issue with the pool heat, but I contacted him about it and he had the property manager out that day to check into it and it was fixed by the next day.
The house was convenient to Disney (15-20 min drive), Universal (25ish min), and there are tons of grocery stores, restaurants, WalMart, etc. within minutes.
The community was nice and we felt very safe during our stay.
One note I will make is if you’re staying in the colder months and expect the pool to stay heated, it won’t if the temperature outside is below 55 degrees. We learned this from the property guide binder in the house. It was unfortunately on the cooler side for most of our trip (lowish 50s), so we were only able to enjoy the hot tub one of the nights we were there, but it was fantastic while it lasted! Weather is outside all of our control so we made the best of it and don’t think it counts as a flaw against the property. We just happened to be there during a rare weather pattern.
Lastly, there is wifi, but it wasn’t very reliable (at least in our experience). We weren’t able to stream tv shows or movies without getting kicked off every 10 to 20 minutes. I ended up turning the wifi on my phone off as it was quicker to just use my cell network. This wasn’t a huge deal to us as we spent the majority of the time in the parks and had brought a few of our own DVDs to watch. I didn’t bring this issue up with the owner so it could have just been user error.
Overall, this place is a gem and we hope to stay here again the next time we make a Disney trip. If you’re leaning towards this one, do it! I’m certain you’ll have a great experience.
