About this property
Exclusive Venice and Veneto Villa with Hilltop Panoramic View
Ca’ Contea is a countryside farmhouse with a history going back centuries. Located in the middle of a vineyard and with breathtaking view, the house is built on a property of 12 acres, on the hillside of Padua, in the heart of Veneto Region. Its position is central between the wonderful cities of Padua, Vicenza, Venice and Verona. Decorated with stylish, comfortable appeal, Ca’ Contea is a perfect choice for those seeking peace and serenity, but why not spending some time outdoors and keep fit ? The Euganean Hills present the opportunity to travel characteristic paths, making you feel exciting emotions, which only nature can offer. Sport activities are: Nordic walking, trekking, hiking, biking, rock climbing.
The house is 400sq, distributed on two levels. On the ground floor, the front door leads onto one of the two living rooms, both with a fireplace and comfortable sittings. The adjacent big kitchen opens in a large veranda with a squared table for 'al fresco' dining.
A huge dining room with a wooden six metres-long dining table, a bathroom with tub and a laundry room complete the ground floor.
A staircase leads to the second floor, where there are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (with shower) and a very spacious study-library. The master bedroom has a four-poster bed; two bedrooms have two single beds each (on request it is possible making them as double bed), and one is a single bedroom (cozy, but small).
The study-library has a fireplace and two glass-windows overlooking the valley.

Magnificent House, very well equipped.
We spent wonderful holidays despite heatwave. The place is beautiful, resourceful. Opportunity to discover Venice, Verona, Padova.
This is the first time in all my experience with short term rentals where the property far exceeded the pictures. We stayed for 24 nights and had a marvelous time. Christina was wonderful and only there when we needed her. The villa had everything we needed and each room is so unique. I would return her at the drop of a hat. We also found the location to be perfect for our needs. We took day trips to the most enchanting small towns and wineries in the area as well as day trips to Verona, Bologna, the Ferrari museum and Lake Como.
The villa is located near a small mountain town surrounded by vineyards. It is an absolutely stunning setting. The villa easily sleeps 7 adults and it is large with lots of separate rooms so it never feels crowded. It is filled with art and antiques and whimsical things to discover. There are two outdoor patios, one for outdoor dining and one for sipping wine or snoozing in the hammock. The villa is secure behind a gate and fence with room to park several cars.
Our hostess was incredibly kind and patient with us as we asked lots of questions and needed help a couple of times. There are numerous restaurants within 15 minutes of the villa. We dove into the Padua train station which is about a half hour drive and rode the train to Venice and Verona for day trips and drove to Lake Garda, Este , and Aqua Pertrarca to explore small towns.Over our 3 week stay, we had 5 guests the first week, 3 guests the second week and 2 guests the third week in addition to the 2 of us.All had a wonderful time as we celebrated an 80th birthday, and a 59 year wedding anniversary. I highly recommend this experience for those wishing a relaxing country vacation.
We drove to the villa outside of Padova in the Euganeen Hills. The villa has been beautifully updated and renovated and is very comfortable with a kitchen that any chef would be proud of. My brother was one of our traveling companions and he loved the property’s well equipped kitchen. He made some amazing dinners that we enjoyed in the adjacent covered patio. The furnishings were comfortable and the villa was beautifully decorated. We walked the grounds and enjoyed the white plums, apricots, mulberries and peaches that were all in full ripeness. Fascinating wildlife abounded, deer , pheasant, grouse, wild Boer and rabbits . The Euganeen Hills appears to be a training location for bicycle racers as we encountered them on every drive from the villa to the train station in Albano Termi or the grocery store. The Italian train system is great. We easily travelled to Bergamo, Padova, Bologna, Modena and Venice for day excursions. The thermal baths in Albano Termi and Montegrotto Termi should not be missed. Numerous baths and golf are available within minutes of the villa. The shopping was well stocked and inexpensive ( we wondered why the Italian grocery prices were 50% of the prices in the US). The local wines were great. By the way, the photos of the villa in the VRBO listing do not do it justice…it is actually much more spectacular than the photos show. My brother the chef was in heaven there. He actually remained at the villa instead of excursions. We 100% would return.
My family wanted to travel to Venice during a portion of our trip to Italy, but did not want to fight the crowds of the city. We found this listing and immediately booked it. It is a short and relatively easy drive Venice, with a couple of easy parking options once you get to the city. But the real thrill of this location are the other surrounding towns in Veneto: Vicenza, Padua, Teolo... so much charm, so much local culture. Christina was an awesome hostess, with a great guide book that was very helpful in finding local restaurants and hikes. I would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to get away and have the best of both worlds, the activities of the city & quiet charm of the country.

Thanks Peter, I am very happy you enjoyed the place. I like very much the area and the surrounding and I love to share this passion with my guests

Beautiful home and ideal location in the Euganean Hills
Ca'Contea is a lovely home surrounded by lush hills and vineyards, yet it's an easy drive to the Padova train station from which so much of Italy can be accessed. My friends and I could not have imagined a more perfect retreat. I hope to return someday soon.

Spectacular grounds with all the amenities you need! A truly stunning vila with old world charm.
Our family of four adults enjoyed 5 wonderful nights at Ca Contea in Teolo. The property and villa are beautiful and offer a unique stay in the Euganean hills. We used the villa as our home base and did day trips to Garda Lake & Verona, Bologna, Venice and the small towns in the hills. In the area, we especially enjoyed the town of Arquà Petrarca, olive oil tasting at a local producer, Frantoio di Valnogaredo and wine tasting at Parco del Venda.
There are nice restaurants very close by and we also did some home cooking - we bought a chicken from the local butcher and used the cooking fireplace in the kitchen - delicious!
The villa is expansive with many interesting pieces throughout. Plenty of space inside and out - we really enjoyed dining outside with the beautiful scenery.
The terrain is full of hills and twists and turns - many cyclists getting very good workouts!!! We didn’t get a chance to do any biking or hiking but there is plenty of opportunity for both.
Cristina was very kind, giving us many recommendations and making sure all was good for our stay! We loved our visit and hope to come back and spend more time exploring this beautiful part of Italy!
Grazie!

Stunning Villa
We had a wonderful time here. The owner Cristina was very helpful with the booking and also had lots of helpful hints and tips for things to do while we were there.
The Villa is situated in the stunning surroundings of the Euganean Hills. The vineyard adjoining the villa also boasts fig tees and Hazelnut trees. The local area is popular for cycling and the nearby restaurants offer all you would expect from local Italian fare.
The Villa itself was roomy and cool and easily coped with 7 adults.
You will need a car if you stay here and a good sat nav is almost essential to find it initially.
Day trips to Venice and Lake Garda are possible but they would be a long day with small children. Cristina's local knowledge will help with travel tips.
A great place for a family holiday

Wonderful! Wonderful! Are there any better words?!
My husband and I stayed at this magnificent property for seven weeks. We were enchanted! The house, the views and the surroundings were spectacular. This house, lovingly restored and renovated by the owners, is exceptional. The attention to detail and the quality of the items found in the house, are higher in quality than in most rental properties. This is a house that offers luxury and comfort at the same time. Its location on a vineyard is exceptional and the surroundings are spectacular. It is located close to a small village (Teolo) which has a surprising amount of good restaurants. This, in addition to the fabulous kitchen in the house, which invites lazy cooking afternoons. Our host, Cristina, is an extremely gracious and lovely woman who is very attentive to all our needs and who oversees the maintenance of the house in an efficient, but discreet manner. She is charming and was very welcoming to our daughter who visited for two weeks and my hiking lady-friends who stayed with us for a few days. Gilles and I were very happy in this house, and we encourage anyone who is hesitating on renting the property, to go ahead and do it- it is worth it!! The pictures on internet do not do the house justice- it is even better!! Just be warned, there are two similar addresses in this small village (yes, really) and the other house which we went to first by mistake, is nowhere near the same as this one- so do not be discouraged. Hopefully this glitch is being fixed by Google GPS in order to sort that little issue... My only concern in posting this good review is that the house will be occupied the next time we want to rent it!

Dolce far niente

Better than anticipated
The home is absolutely charming. The kitchen has everything a good chef could desire.
Christina has gone to grey lengths to decorate this lovely home with interesting and pleasing decor. It is surprising that she would allow total strangers to stay here, so when you do, please take good care of everything as we plan to come back.

Our favorite rental in Italy
We cannot recommend this home highly enough.
Our only regret was that we planned so many day trips that we were not able to spend more time at this beautiful home. We do plan to return someday to enjoy more of the local country walks and Colli Euganei Regional Park. The owners were completely reliable in all regards and everything functioned perfectly in the house. It is very tastefully, yet comfortably, furnished and has marvelous objects throughout. We can't think of a single negative comment about this place, in contrast to other houses/apts. we've rented in Europe.
Christina was very gracious, straight-forward and helpful, and we can only wish for them to always have the best possible tenants.
One of the great pleasures of staying at this home is the beautiful walk around the vineyards adjacent to the house, and the spectacular panoramic views you get on the walks, and from the verandahs of the house.

Tranquil and well appointed villa
Spacious and tastefully decorated throughout, there is plenty of room to relax both outside and in. Cristina has created a fantastic base from which to tour the surrounding area, a pleasure to return to at the end of the day. It is within easy reach of Padua, Vicenza and Verona, and surrounded by well tended grounds and overlooking rolling vineyards, one of which supplies excellent wine at a very reasonable price. The description and photographs on the website are accurate and we found Cristina helpful and friendly. We would thoroughly recommend Ca'Contea.
About the host
Hosted by Cristina De Leo
I am native from Vicenza, my background is in Arts history and interior decoration. I share with my husband, the passion for antiques. We love this house and we restored it with great passion. In this days we travel a lot for work and we like to keep the house 'open and alive', so we decided to put it on rental for minded people that want to discover this 'off the beaten path' side of Italy.
Why they chose this property
This a quite unique house, because it has been built to be our home. We didn't think to rent it. So it is carefully furnished down to the tiniest detail , so you would feel to be in a very cosy and elegant place. The strategic location makes for many an inspiring day trip to Padova, Venice, Vicenza, Verona, Ferrara, lake Garda as well as Este, Montagnana, Monselice and Arquà Petrarca in the immediate vicinity. The villas on the Brenta canal as well as the famous Palladio villas should also be your primary choices.
What makes this property unique
Benefiting from being just 10 minutes drive from 3 golf courses (18 holes) and 15 minutes drive from the Hot Spring and Spa of Abano and Montegrotto and encircled by several panoramic cycling and walking tracks, it is a perfect solution for everybody liking open-air activities and wellness. Even the passionate cultural and gourmet travelers could be satisfied visiting the nearby historical cities of Vicenza and Verona as well as walled-cities and castles where it is possible find a simple but authentic hospitality, which brings you in contact with the traditional values.
