About this property

20 min from Asheville, NC! Stay in a Barn

Welcome to The Burnsville Boho Barn!

Our newly renovated barn loft/studio apartment is located on our 2.5-acre property where we raise chickens, our three tiny humans, and garden.

The barn was recently bare bones, but with a dream and a little bit of umf, we got to work designing and building our ~800 sqft, spacious and cozy barn loft studio apartment. The barn features a modern green and brown bohemian style with plenty of amenities for you to enjoy.

Inside the barn loft:

The barn loft features a queen-size bed with a queen-size memory foam mattress. The space is open-flow, set up as a studio apartment. There are no doors in the barn aside from the bathroom pocket door. The bedroom space features a large picturesque window to enjoy the wooded and property views.

The space is equipped with a small collection of books and games, as well as a Smart TV with all of the popular streaming applications (Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc.). Guests are welcome to log into their streaming app accounts to watch movies and television. No traditional cable service or DVD player is provided.

The kitchenette is equipped with a plug-in stove/hot plate with two burners, a retro mini-fridge, a toaster oven, a microwave, and a drip coffee maker.
The kitchenette is also stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, and small baking items, dishes, cutlery, and glassware. Please wash the dishes and kitchen items you use during your stay.
Basic cooking items such as salt, pepper, sugar, creamer, coffee, and tea are provided.

The bathroom features a large tiled shower, a bathroom sink, and a toilet. Towels are provided.

Water comes from our mountain spring fed well.

Wireless internet is provided. It is reliable for streaming on the tv, or personal digital devices, as well as working remotely, however, we do not guarantee it. We live in a rural area with limited service providers and there are times when the signal is not as strong. Please be aware of this. Local coffee shops also provide free wifi should you want or need to venture out.

Outside of the barn:

Below the loft is a three-stall barn. Currently, we are not boarding any animals in the stalls. We ask that guests refrain from exploring the stalls for safety purposes.

The barn is located on our 2.5-acre property where our small family of 5 also resides. We provide as much privacy to barn guests as we can, and provide an outdoor space for our guests to enjoy. Here we raise chickens and garden.

PLEASE NOTE: During the winter months we may not have livestock residing on our property for various reasons. If you'd like to come during the height of our farm season, Spring-Fall are suggested times

NEVER touch electrified fencing and never feed animals without our permission.

Please also use caution walking around our property as we are always working on a project. The field also has some large holes caused by the spring that runs underneath.

Our property is located on a short dead-end private gravel road. We have three neighbors who use the road to get to and from their homes. Traffic and noise are generally minimal but it does exist.

To get to the barn, please drive behind our personal home to access guest parking. We have enough room to accommodate two cars in the barn parking area.

4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended, especially in the winter months as snow and ice are common. The paved road from the highway to our gravel road is maintained and salted when there is ice or snow and is passable all year long.

There is a mini-split heater/air conditioner available to you to set the space at a comfortable temperature during your stay. Upon leaving, we ask that guests turn the heat down to 68.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire top-floor barn loft. Keyless entry is provided.

Other things to note

PLEASE NOTE

We love animals, however, pets are not allowed on our property to keep everyone (our family, children, pets, and livestock) safe. If a pet is to be found in the barn, there will be a $200 fee charged.

ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING ALLOWED! If smoking, of any kind, is found to have been in the barn, a $200 smoking fee will be charged.

Quick Get Away
Our stay at the Burnsville Boho Barn was perfect! I couldn't have asked for a nicer owner! I got a little turned around coming in and Mara stayed on the phone with me the entire time and personally greeted me when I arrived! I will definitely be back and let everyone I know to stay at the Burnsville Boho Barn. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Loved this place!
Brand spanking new, clean as a whistle, beautifully decorated with a great boho mix of modern and antique. Huge picture window showcasing a beautiful view. Everything you need in the kitchen, and a beautiful bathroom with an enormous walk-in shower. Deck with seating for reading or enjoying morning coffee. The owners obviously put a lot of thought and care into the design. Minutes from downtown Burnsville, but private and surrounded by trees, fields, and some free range chickens. We will definitely return!

Why they chose this property

Our open 2.5 acre property is tucked away in a holler surrounded by trees, woods, and wildlife. When we moved here a few years ago, we fell in love with the natural landscape, and the safe feeling we got. We love that our property is tucked away, but also close enough to the little downtown area and things to do in Burnsville.

What makes this property unique

Our property has many unique features that we love sharing with our guests. We have a natural mountain-fed spring, so the water that runs to the barn is clean and crips mountain water. The field, in the summertime, is green and absolutely gorgeous. Often, you will see deer, bear, and other wildlife crossing through.
