About this property

Sea Biscuit! Cute Boho cottage on a sandy road steps to bay beach.

This is a peaceful vintage North Fork cottage in a private community. We have owned this cottage for over twenty years and my children have spent summers by the beach here. As the children age out, it is time to rent for a few years and try to hang on to this little slice of heaven. The cottage is open and airy. The ceilings have all been reconstructed for an open feel with skylights. There are two bedrooms fully stocked with linens. The pantry is stocked with all essentials and our kitchen has all the utensils needed. We are secluded in a small , off the beaten path, neighborhood with sandy roads and a private beach. The house has strong Optimum wifi so you can stay connected. We strongly encourage taking a walk through the pretty rolling hills in the neighborhood to Sep's farmstand or the lavender fields. We are a brisk walk from the jitney stop as well. Our house has felt the footeps of four kids for many years and is in no way a high end Hamptons rental. It is a small cottage with flair that lives large. The ceilings are built out with three large skylights for fresh breezes and maximum light. This cottage is ideally located by the beach. A farm, a winery, the jitney stop, a market and post office are a short walk from the house. We offer a artistic, peaceful and clean house by the beach where you can make memories. For the summer of 2024, this house will be available on a month to month basis only. The monthly rates are as follows. May 5,000.00 June 7000.00 July 10,000.00 August 10,000.00 September 5000.00. The rates will be adjusted upon booking request

I am currently living in the small city of Glens Falls NY with my four children. We just launched an exotic tea business called Boho Tea Shop! We are also the owners of Bamboostixx Co. , a small business that developed and brought to market 100 percent biodegradeable bamboo toothbrushes and straws. Follow us on Instagram! We love this little bungalow to pieces and have had so many great memories here. As my kids grow up and head off to college, the reality of holding onto this gem seems to slip away. We are renting it out as an effort to pay down college bills and make a go of keeping the house. You will love the North Fork. There is so much depth to these historic little fishing and farming hamlets.

Why they chose this property

I bought this property in 2001 when I was working in Manhattan as a respite from the city. At the time, I had no idea what went on past Riverhead. I had always gone to the South fork. In those days, it was like a different world driving down 25. People at work often referenced the nofo as "the other side". I liked it!! Today, many people have found the North Fork and brought with them such wonderful ideas for business and artistic talent. It is such a beautiful mesh of people on this piece of long island. I specifically bought my house because I fell in love with the vintage screens. No seriously. Wait, actually seriously, I think I did. The other reasons I bought the house was it was so very different from downtown Greenport and even many of the other neighborhoods. There are only ten or so houses on a little dirt road that lead to the beach. This offers a sense of complete seclusion. We are so close to Greenport for all the nightlife and shopping., yet we have this almost remote existence in the community. It is truly the best of both worlds. The beach is deeded and it is at the end of the road. Beach chairs are provided and they stay right on the beach. Grab a towel and go. Perfect.

What makes this property unique

Wooded little neighborhood. Deeded beach. Peace and quiet.
