This camp was large enough for all 8 of us to have our space. The large front porch was great to have for extra storage and to sit and enjoy the beauty of the lake! The owners were great to communicate with and all the neighbors were very friendly. A great place to go and enjoy the outdoors for a week! Our grandchildren are ready to go back next year.
This camp has all of the amenities you could ask for, cooking tools, sheets, towels, washer-dryer and air conditioning, grill, fire pit and wifi. We enjoyed our stay very much, my kids (age 3 & 5) were often too tired to stay up for a campfire. During our stay we enjoyed swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The Sandy beach was the draw for us and it didn’t disappoint, my young children were able to enjoy the lake everyday. The picture of the inside of the camp don’t do it justice, the porch with views of the lake was a wonderful place to have coffee and watch my kids play. I only live about 30 miles from hinkley lake, but it’s a beautiful hidden gem of the Adirondacks. I would definitely recommend this property.
If you are looking for quiet waterfront property with amazing sunsets, this is the place! We enjoyed relaxing on the beach, the dock, the front lawn, and on the huge front porch. In the evenings, we loved sitting around the firepit overlooking the lake. I don't think I've ever noticed so many stars! The home had everything we needed such as bedding, towels, pots/ pans, tableware, board games, books, puzzles, movies, outdoor chairs, life jackets, etc. Made packing a breeze! We enjoyed cooking on the grill and eating on both the picnic table and kitchen table which had wonderful breezes and a view of the lake. Hinckley Lake is clean with a sandy bottom and we enjoyed swimming, floating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and a ride on the owner's pontoon boat. Sheri and Dennis were wonderful hosts and very responsive to any questions we had. They recommended a hike (Bald Mt ) and then we enjoyed dinner in Old Forge. The only drawback I can think of is the long drive to a grocery or convenience store. I did not pack groceries for a full week, planning on shopping when I got there which did not work out as I'd expected. Be sure to stock up and gas up before you go and you'll enjoy this gem!
We had a wonderful time. The accommodations were very comfortable for a family of three adults and two children. The walk to the sandy beach was close but not so close that I worried about the children going into the water. We loved the dock set up...it corralled the young ones so there was not kids floating off into the lake! The owners were stellar and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We'd definitely come back again.
Just returned from our week long stay on Hinckley Reservoir. The house itself is quite large, with plenty of room for everyone. (We only had 2 adults and two kids). I would think however, that with all 4 bedrooms on one side of the house, it can get pretty crowded there with more people. However, the rest of the house is large enough for all to spread out. The game room was well stocked with games and puzzles. The WiFi is not high-speed so we were not able to watch our regular streaming sources. However, it was actually refreshing to stay away from the screen and instead spend the evenings watching the fire and the sunset. The difficult part was convincing the kids :)
The owners are very accommodating. We needed children's safety vests and they brought them right over, which gave us a piece of mind watching the kids swim as the bottom drops quite close to the shore. The best part of course is the reservoir: swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and watching the water-plane land. The beach was practically empty. ATV trails were good for short hikes so was walking along the beach. Overall, a wonderful vacation away from all the troubles.
I spent a week here with my extended family, including my two young children and their grandparents. Everyone had a fantastic time. The house is newly clad with charcoal siding and is located at the end of a one way, one lane dirt road, directly across from the lakefront beach. While the beach is shared, it was never crowded and we had it to ourselves 90% of the time. The beach and water were clean and we all enjoyed swimming and kayaking. The one non-swimmer enjoyed walks around the community and reading under a number of shady trees. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable for the duration of our stay. The kitchen was well equipped and my husband enjoyed making dinner on the propane grill. For entertainment, there was a variety of board games, puzzles, lawn games and assorted toys for the kids. The house also has DirecTV and wireless internet. The living room is air conditioned, which provided great relief on a few exceptionally hot days. The four bedrooms were just the right size to hold the beds they contain, which was fine for us as we spent most of our time outside. The owners were easy to reach and highly responsive. Finally, I've never stayed anywhere with friendlier neighbors. One came over to introduce himself and offer us a ride on his boat. Another saw my kids and brought over a bubble machine for them to play with. Overall, a great spot for a peaceful and relaxing family vacation. We can't wait to go back!
We enjoyed the swimming, canoeing and use of kayak and paddle boards that came with the place. The kitchen was well furnished; the hosts were terrific, so we were very comfortable. We used the grill as well. All in all a grat place.
A great place to stay on the lake! Beautiful sunsets, perfect location. The beach area is great for young kids to play at. Plenty of outdoor space. The cabin itself is even bigger than it looks in the pictures and has all the room we needed with 2 families. We also enjoyed the screened in porch area! The homeowners were great and got back to us with any questions we had very quickly. Would definitely recommend!

GREAT family vacation home - Wonderful Owners
Our family has stayed at several cabins in the Hinkley Lake area and this one was by far the BEST. The accommodations were modern and updated. We had kayaks, paddle boat, canoe, horse shoes - what more could we ask for. The cabin had plenty of room for all of our family to gather for a reunion. Sheri and Dennis were the BEST to work with and were so helpful to make our stay the best we have ever had. We WILL be back again. Thanks Sheri and Dennis for helping our family vacation to be the best we have ever had. (And Dennis, the fireworks over the lake were fantastic - we loved watching from our boat - thanks!)

Wonderful!
This was our first time renting a cottage. What a great experience! You really only need to bring clothes and food. All the amenities are there. The cottage was clean and had a fully stocked kitchen. The board games kayaks and bikes kept us so busy we didn't need the 5 t.v's provided. We had our whole family from grandparents to 4 year olds there and everyone had fun. There are nice golf courses about a half hour away and old forge if you want a day trip, but who needs to leave? The owners are very nice and easy to contact. We already booked for next year. I highly recommend this cottage for families to just get away and have nice family time.

Great Family Vacation
This was our second stay at this property, we absolutley love it. My son is six and he had a blast playing in the sand and down by the water. Since you are not on a main road of any sort I could let him play outside without worrying about traffic. My teenage sister went as well, and she even had a good time. Most of what you need is right there, and Dennis and Sherri are great very nice people and are available for anything you need. The property is very clean, and the pictures are very accurate. It is a little bit of a drive, but we went to Enchanted Forest in Old Forge for a day trip and it was great. I would and have recommended this property to others!

Excellent Rental
This rental is right on the waterfront on the lake with a beautiful view. The spaciousness of the living spaces inside made the rainy days enjoyable and the abudance of the kitchen supplies made eating in a breeze. The lake has wonderfully clear water and being away from it all is quite relaxing.
