About this property

Matteson’s Rental Cabins

Our three cabins are located just inside the Adirondack Park boundary line. Each cabin is 400 square feet with a full kitchen, full bathroom, and 2 queen beds. For summer fun, we are located close to many state lakes, rivers and ponds. In the fall the area is a hunting paradise with thousands of acres of public land locally. Winter time we are located directly on the snowmobile trail and within 15 minutes from cross country and downhill skiing trails.

Nice weekend getaway

Clean cabin with a comfortable bed. We were able to enjoy an outdoor fire both nights. It was easy to check in and out. The owner was very pleasant and welcoming. The owner’s store on the property had food and yummy treats to purchase. We would stay again in the future. It was perfect for what we needed.

A place to stay

We came up to go snowmobiling. Great to have the trails right there. Place was perfect for 2 of us to stay at for the weekend. Will definitely stay again.

Highly recommended!

We stayed here for a couple nights so our family could go to Enchanted forest. We had a great time. Nice cabin and friendly owners as well. We will be returning.

Woodgate Weekend

Very nice cabin in Woodgate. Clean and comfortable with all the essentials. The hosts were friendly and we enjoyed the convenience of their market with delicious food, bakery and produce. Great location right on 28 and just 20 minutes to Old Forge. Would definitely stay again next time we're in the area.

family visit

love this place second time I stay here. I must say it's a family friends place so I'll just call them myself for my next stay,and save the fifty buck cleaning fee that the owner doesn't get. they pay their own cleaners. sorry VRBO. I will how ever use the service for many other stays but not this one.

The cabin was great inside, it was very nice to stay inside it. The area where the cabin is located it was hard to navigate around. He is locating right next to a nursery. There's a lot of traffic in the area. Not enough room to park a truck and a boat.

The property is very clean and well maintained, the owner is very friendly and helpful, and check in is very easy. My only critique is the location is a little far from Inlet and Old forge, which where we spend most of our time; however we do love to kayak and the proximity to little long lake is nice. We have stayed here twice now and have had a very pleasant experience on both occasions.

Overall excellent. - and right next to their store where they make and sell wonderful food to take out! We stayed there because our family's nearby camp didn't have enough space. This was great for overflow. Only one thought I would have is to have a shade for the door window. We hung a towel over it for privacy. Will definitely stay there again.

Old Forge visit

My cousins and I very much enjoyed our 2nd stay at the Matteson’s rental cabin. It’s the perfect home base for a trip to Old Forge. It has everything you need - comfy beds, a nice bathroom with shower, kitchen with fridge, microwave, and regular coffee maker, and a fire pit. We were grateful for the air conditioning too. Bridget is a kind and responsive host. We hope to come back ASAP! :)

Wonderful stay

This was such a wonderful place to go to after a long stressful week. I went with some friends and it was definitely a memorable weekend. Beautiful cabin, had everything I needed in the shop next door and more. The service was wonderful and I’m definitely coming back next year.

Clean and Cozy

We stayed in Cabin 1 for a three night anniversary trip. The cabin was very clean, modern, and simple. Perfect for us! We had everything we needed. We've been staying in the Adirondacks for nearly 20 years, and I'd say its the best place we've stayed. Beats over priced hotels that aren't nearly as nice and none as clean! The hostess was also very nice and communication great. The only downside for us was it's right on the edge of the Adirondack park so we had to drive a ways to visit some of our favorite places. I highly recommend it if you are visiting Old Forge though. It's the perfect location outside of the busy village. Would definitely return for another trip!
