Beautiful Place

We come to Mena every year in January for Athens Big Fork Marathon. Our group gets larger each year and this house accommodated perfectly. The description of the bedrooms and beds is not entirely accurate, so don't assign friends to beds till you get there. However, the rest was perfect. The hosts were very responsive even after full payment.

Great family get-a-way!!

We celebrated our belated Family Christmas here this weekend and it was amazing. There were 17 of us - ages 4-58 and everything in between and there was plenty of room for everyone. We loved that there were 3 levels and the kids had their own space. The kids were disappointed that they didn't catch any fish but I'm sure it was because it was very cold out!! The hosts were very responsive to all of our questions. Highly recommend!!

Bethesda Landing is part of Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins, a mountain destination created and owned by Michael and Jessica Myers.

Bethesda Lake has a long and fascinating history. The lake was originally constructed in 1925 and was intended to become the centerpiece of a resort community that would include a golf course and lakeside recreation. When the Great Depression struck, those plans came to a halt and the resort was never fully developed.

Years later, the Watkins family revived the property as Lake Bethesda Resort, building small cabins and opening the lake for seasonal swimming. The resort operated for several years before eventually closing in the late 1960s.

For the next five decades, the property slowly fell into disrepair. The cabins were removed, the land became overgrown, and much of the lake’s natural beauty was hidden beneath years of neglect.

In 2019, Michael and Jessica Myers, owners of Bethesda Springs Properties, purchased Bethesda Lake and the surrounding land with a vision: to restore the historic property and create a destination that celebrates the natural beauty of the Ouachita Mountains.

Working with local craftsmen and builders, they began restoring the land, rebuilding the lakefront, and constructing cabins designed to showcase the scenery and peaceful atmosphere of the mountains.

Today, Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins spans more than 300 acres and continues to grow as a destination for relaxing mountain stays, outdoor recreation, and memorable gatherings. Future plans include additional mountaintop cabins with panoramic views that rival some of the most scenic mountain destinations in the country.

Bethesda Landing is one of the newest cabins at the resort, designed as a place where families and groups can gather, relax, and experience the beauty of the Ouachita Mountains together.

Michael and Jessica invite you to enjoy the property and become part of the continuing story of Bethesda Lake.
