About this property
Newly Built: Kenai River Front Cabin with 2 Bedrooms - Premier Fishing Location
This brand new cabin has been being built since the last months of 2022. All winter long we have been completing all the finishing work of the Moose Cabin as we have named the place. We will be completed with the finished cabin in May of 2023. Ready for Guests.
This new cabin will have 2 large bedrooms and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms. There is a full kitchen with all the dishes flatware, and pots and pans any home would have. Near everything will be provided for an extremely nice vacation rental.
It has a fabulous Kenai River View with access to fishing just steps away for a variety of Salmon, Trout and Dollies. If you want to enjoy all the property, enjoy it with the huge outdoor pavilion with the best fire pit on the Kenai Peninsula. Horse shoes on a Olympic size horse shoe pit. You will be near many hot fishing holes along the Kenai River because we are right in the middle of Kenai Peninsula and Mid river. Just a hop, skip, and jump to anywhere on the play grounds of Alaska. This is our "Little Peice of Heaven" in the biggest sandbox ever.
This new comfortable two bedroom vacation rental has one of the best views of the famous Kenai River. From the spacious deck you will see for miles and miles of natural beauty! Here on this pristine property, you will have private fishing right from the Kenai River bank just steps away. The new daylight platform decks will make ease of your fishing and viewing of the river. With your stay here you will feel like you are in the wilds of Alaska and yet be totally relaxed with all the beauty around the property. This private 145 feet of Kenai River frontage is for you to use as you may. There are a couple of fire pits, plenty of picnic tables and benches to use as well as all that elbow room to move about the river bank. Your own fish cleaning table is there to use for the catch of day and a large freezer to store it for your trip back home.
The "Moose Cabin" is centrally located to conveniently help get you any where on the Kenai Peninsula in minutes. All the small town conveniences such as restaurants, groceries and more, are just around the corner here in Sterling. Just a short 11 miles from Sterling is the larger town of Soldotna, where the crowded tourism is more centrally located. From the "Moose Cabin", you can be in Seward in less than 90 minutes for a fishing charter or a tour of the city. And only another 110 minutes in the opposite direction be in Homer for some Alaskan fun. The "Moose Cabin" is a great base accommodation for all your Kenai Peninsula activities planed for your adventurous Alaskan vacation. From halibut, trout, and salmon fishing to white water rafting to bird watching and hiking, or a gentle scenic drift boat ride down the Kenai or Kasilof rivers. Guided or not, this will be a fantastic place to stay, play and relax. Fly into a bear active area with a guided tour and be back that evening. There is so much to do here on the Kenai Peninsula, you will enjoy being right in the middle of it all. And yet, have the privacy of a large quiet space to enjoy nature right at your door step.
Inside the new "Moose Cabin" all new appliances, furniture, and bedding. You will be able to enjoy a big flat screen satellite TV, WI-FI and/or wireless internet to stay in touch. There is a wonderful kitchen to cook your fresh catch and use at times when you would rather just stay in to enjoy the comforts of home cooking. All the basics will be in those new cabinets for your use. There are beds for up to 6 people and a maximum of 6 people. The one bed room has a Queen bed. The second bedroom has two Queen beds, one stacked on top of the other like a bunk bed. The long couch in the living area has plenty of seating. There will be a roll out bed available if necessary too. There is a washer and dryer to use at your convenience . A shower to enjoy after a hard day of fun. The barbecue is there to use and a table to enjoy the fresh air and food & drink. You will be totally amazed about this view space.
WE ALSO HAVE OUR "WOLF DEN" CABIN/BUNK HOUSE JUST (STEPS) AWAY FROM THE "MOOSE CABIN" TO ACCOMMODATE A LARGER FAMILY OR PARTY. This "Wolf Den" is just sleeping quarters for those extra beds you may need. It has 2 very comfortable twin size captain beds and a view of the Kenai River just out the front windows.
The "Wolf Den" also has its own front porch and fire pit. There could be a roll out twin size bed added if necessary to use. So this cabin is able to sleep up to 3 people. There is no water plumbed into this accommodation as it is a "dry" cabin. This "Wolf Den" is not available for renting unless the "Eagles Nest", "Moose Cabin", or our other "Bears Den" accommodation is part of your party. There is a microwave oven, small refrigerator, table and chairs for 4 for snacking and playing games. Great place for those whom like it a little more private and quite. There is a nice warm electric fireplace to enjoy. Also a flat screen TV, WI-FI and/or wireless internet. This is very comfortable and warm, newly remodeled with beautiful knotty pine interior walls.
The "Moose Cabin"is just one of our 4 lodging accommodations. We also have the 1 bed/1 bath "Bears Den" apartment on VRBO with a listing (#704413) in case you are interested in our property availability. Our Eagles Nest is another 1 bed/ 1 bath with a deck overlooking the Kenai River VRBO listing (#798980). And we have the Klondike House which is a 3 bedroom ranch style home with the VRBO listing (#1801842). This may be of value in case you have a very large group or party and want the whole property to use. Or maybe if you have some calendar issues.

Our Journey to the Kenai River: A Tale of Love, Exploration, and Homecoming
As a Montana native and my wife hailing from Donetsk, Ukraine, our journey together over the last 25 years has been a testament to love, adventure, and the pursuit of a dream. Celebrating a quarter of a century of marriage, we've been incredibly fortunate to find and make our home on this prime piece of Kenai River property, embodying the essence of the Alaskan spirit we've grown to cherish deeply.
Our path to this beautiful estate wasn't swift; it was a deliberate quest that spanned over a decade. We searched tirelessly across the Kenai Peninsula for a place that felt like it was truly meant for us—a place where we could envision spending our golden years. This pursuit was driven by more than just the desire for a scenic backdrop; it was about finding a location that resonated with our souls, where the serene beauty of nature and the vibrant wildlife could serve as daily reminders of life's incredible wonders.
Having now called this place home for so many years, we reflect on our decision with no regrets, only gratitude. Our life here, on the brink of retirement, is everything we hoped for and more. The Alaskan lifestyle, with its promise of tranquility, adventure, and the raw beauty of the wilderness, has been more rewarding than we could have ever imagined.
This property isn't just land to us; it's a culmination of dreams, a sanctuary where we've spent nearly a decade of our lives, and a testament to our journey together. Living here, we've embraced the rhythms of the Kenai River, the changing seasons, and the wildlife that shares our space, enriching our lives beyond measure.
As we continue to build our life here, each day is a new chapter in our ongoing adventure in Alaska. Our love for this place and for each other only deepens with time, solidifying our belief that we found the perfect spot to spend our forever in the majestic wilds of the Kenai Peninsula.

What makes this property unique
Idyllic Alaskan Haven: Our Nearly 2-Acre Riverside Retreat
From the moment my wife and I laid eyes on this almost 2-acre slice of Alaskan paradise, it was love at first sight. Our initial encounter with the land was marked by a memorable welcome from a lone eagle, perched right in front of what would become our picture window, vocalizing loudly as if to greet us into our future home. Over the years, we've come to understand the eagle's affinity for this place, with abundant food and ideal conditions for these majestic birds to thrive, mate, and raise their young.
Nestled along the banks of the Kenai River, our property boasts unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains, creating a picturesque backdrop to our daily lives. A gentle trail leads down to a prime fishing spot directly in front of our home, where the lifecycle of the wild unfolds before our eyes. Here, we witness the awe-inspiring sight of King Salmon nesting and leaping from the water, a testament to the river's rich ecosystem.
Our days are filled with the constant presence of eagles and a symphony of bird calls, each adding to the vibrant tapestry of life that surrounds us. The area's natural beauty offers endless opportunities for exploration and engagement with the wilderness, ensuring that life here is anything but mundane. Despite the lively environment, there's a profound sense of peace that comes with our secluded, natural setting.
Living here is a daily adventure, immersed in the tranquility of Alaska's wilds yet always within reach of nature's most exhilarating displays. It's a balance of relaxation and excitement, where the wonders of the natural world are our constant companions. This nearly 2-acre haven is not just a place we call home; it's a living, breathing sanctuary where life in all its forms converges, creating a truly unique and cherished existence.
