Worst experience ever with VRBO and especially the host

Tried to cancel several times with the host and VRBO due to a family emergency. Host never responded. VRBO never helped. Told VRBO and host that my family and I would not be able to stay at the property but neither did anything to accommodate or discuss other options. Very dissatisfied as we lost the entire amount for a stay. VRBO stated that they tried to call the host but he was unreachable. Horrible experience and likely never to do business with VRBO again.
