- PEOPLE: Ensure all guests are accounted for within your reservation; we can accommodate up to 6 people and 2 dogs. We DO NOT allow anyone that is not accounted for onto the property, even if they do not plan to stay the night. Unannounced guests will result in a $100 per guest, per night booked AND you will need to vacate immediately, AND any resulting plumbing and septic repairs shall be guest's responsibility.

- PETS: Dogs require a $100 additional cleaning fee for up to 2 dogs. Ensure all waste is picked up. Due to local wildlife, please be mindful of your dogs. No cats or other pets, please, due to owner allergy. There is a $200 fee for bringing an unannounced dog or other pet and all waste must be picked up. Due to local wildlife, please be mindful of your pets.

- PRIVATE DOG PARK: This cabin has its own, private dog park, Blue Ridge Private Dog Park, directly across the street. Private: just you and your pups, no one else. The park is fully-fenced, with 0.84 acres of cleared, wooded land (no grass). *Please be mindful of potential ground hazards as the area is not groomed. You may encounter wildlife. Poop bags are provided. Please dispose of all waste and garbage in a secured trash bag and place in bear bin at the cabin. To use the dog park, there is an additional $35 for a stay of 3 nights or less or $75 for a stay of 4 nights or more.

- SEPTIC/PLUMBING: ***This cabin is on a septic system*** Bathroom - Flush only toilet paper. Do not flush hygiene products, wipes (even if flushable), paper towels, or tissue, as this will cause a blockage and render all plumbing useless. ***Kitchen - Only liquids can go down the kitchen sink drain. Cooking oils, grease, fats, food debris, and coffee grounds must go into the trash. *** Drain screens - There are drain screens in the kitchen and bathrooms to prevent hair, food, and other items from going down the drains; these must be used at all times.***

- HOT TUB: The hot tub is emptied between every reservation, therefore the water may not be hot upon your arrival. The hot tub can reach temperatures up to 104°F. It will lose about 5°F per hour when the lid is off; weather conditions and use of the jets may expedite this cooling.

- TRASH: ***All trash must be BAGGED and TIED in kitchen-sized 13 gallon bags, then placed in the outdoor bear-resistant trash bins. The trash company removes each bag individually; no dump truck. Trash is collected Tuesdays and Fridays. Dog poop bags must be enclosed in trash bags as well***

- FUTON: The futon in the game room is designed for convenience over comfort. If you are sensitive to mattresses, one of the traditional beds is recommended.

- FIREPLACE: To use the fireplace, ensure the flue is open by sliding the handle that's at the top center of the fireplace (smoke should go up the chimney). Fires must be attended at all times. Place all cold ashes in the metal bucket provided; do not dump outside. Do not use the air conditioning and fireplace at the same time. (Not permitted for use May-August).

- INSECTS: Because this is a rural area, we recommend turning off lights not directly in use as insects are prevalent and attracted to light, especially at night. **If you are sensitive to wildlife, this listing may not be the right fit**

- LAWN CARE: Lawn maintenance is completed each month, weather permitting. You may see contractors working outside.

- OUTDOOR CUSHIONS: Outdoor cushions are located in the storage bench on the deck. In order to preserve them, please place cushions back into the storage bench when not in use.

- FLAMMABLES: No candles and no fireworks permitted anywhere on the premises.

- BOOKS: The cabin has a Take One, Leave One library. There may be books which do not represent the opinions or values of your host. If you find something offensive or inappropriate, please tuck it away and let us know.

Perfect Cabin with all amenities on a beautiful rushing river!
Just when you think it can’t get any better, you can bring your fur baby too! The cabin looked brand new inside. It was immaculate, clean and well appointed. The two master bedrooms had the most comfortable king beds on the planet not to mention three full bathrooms, two of which had beautiful new showers. They had every dog amenity you could think of including dog cleaning wipes, poop bags, dog blankets, big crate, dog bed, dog bowls, and dog sanitizer spray… You name it! The hosts were very attentive and responsive if you had any questions or needed anything during your stay. They had lots of games and puzzles. My husband and I even played Monopoly while we were there… low and behold he won and boasted about being the king of the properties! The hot tub was huge and extremely relaxing! The river was just amazing. We really loved opening the doors and listening to the rushing water run over the rocks and hear the birds singing. The cabin really had everything you could ever need and more. In addition, the location of this property was perfect! It was secluded yet only a few mins (~3-5 miles) from Walmart, Home Depot, and the quant historic downtown shops and restaurants. We will definitely be coming back to this same exact cabin!

We came to the Blue Ridge Mountains as vacationers and fell in love with the area - its natural beauty, wineries, orchards, proximity to several different downtown areas, hiking, antiques, Bigfoot Museum, drive in movie theater, and so very much more. So we created The Bear's Creek Retreat, for your riverside mountain experience.

Why they chose this property

While the cabin feels secluded in its gorgeous natural setting of woods and water, it's only 6 minutes to the nearest orchard and winery and gas stations, 10 minutes to Home Depot, Walmart, and downtown Blue Ridge.

What makes this property unique

Hearing the rushing waters of Fightingtown Creek from every room, the single-story cabin comfy charm, 3 bedrooms, each with its own fully renovated private bathroom access, our 150+ bear scavenger hunt (can you find them all?), and the nearness of local sites, shops and restaurants.
