Beautiful old building in a terrible neighborhood
The staff was very friendly and promptly helpful. The grounds, lobby and room were impeccably clean. The room was well stocked and very roomy. There was no iron provided but there was a steamer. However, there was no place in the room to hang your clothes while you steam them. Also the steamer was temperamental and if you didn’t have the exact right amount of water, it bubbled out boiling water profusely like a geyser…I didn’t get burned but it drenched my clothes while I was trying to get it to work.water in the steamer well below the Fill line: The bathroom had a motion sensor on it that could not be turned off, so anytime you walked by the room a super bright light flashed on. It was not comfortable on the eyes when I got up to use the restroom at 2 am. Overall the staff and building was nice. Old building so lots of sounds. They provided ear plugs but I didn’t find them till the morning. The bed was comfortable, the duvet comforter was very nice and attractive but was way too hot for an indoor setting even after I turned the heat down. No extra blanket was provided, which would have been nice to swap out for the extra heavy comforter. The bed needed more options for warmth. Street parking was available for free on the night I was there but I didn’t sleep well as every street in the neighborhood had homeless people. Lots and lots of homeless camps, and people experiencing mental illness shouting and staggering through he streets. Not a place I was comfortable.
