Alta Peak Vista - Sequoia National Park Luxury Home
Alta Vista Peak is a three-level, three-bedroom mountain home with a cabin feel located in Three Rivers, California and just 1.8 miles (5 mins) to the entrance of Sequoia National Park. The two bathrooms were built using a large amount of river rock to help create a mountain river ambience. There is a fireplace on the main floor and a wood burning stove in the master bedroom. The kitchen was created with a gourmet chef in mind! Lots of room and high quality appliances to prepare meals to perfection. There is a large deck that overlooks the entrance to Sequoia National Park. From the deck and all the east facing windows is the spectacular Morro Rock. A solid granite rock similar geologically to Yosemite’s Half Dome.
Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, Three Rivers sits in one of the most scenic locations in California, the Kaweah valley. The three forks of the Kaweah River flow with amazing wonder from Mineral King and Mount Whitney through the town. Some of the most famous artist in America have carved or brushed masterpieces of nature’s beauty from this location. The valley is the gateway to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The Parks, which possess the largest tree in the World (General Sherman), the highest peak in the continental United States (Mount Whitney 14,505 ft), and is also the location of some of the oldest living trees (the Bristlecone pines 4,767 years old!). Both Men’s Journal and Outside magazine recommended the trails of these parks as some of the best hiking experiences in the world.
Alta Vista Peak is a labor of love. Inspired by the incredible beauty, which surrounds it, we have created the ultimate retreat of comfort. It will fulfill the needs of a wonderful honeymoon, a family outing, or an adventurous vacation.

We only had the opportunity to spend one night at this property, it was very nice and I wish we had the chance to spend more time there. The beds were comfortable, the upstairs master suite was awesome. The owner was very clear with directions to locate and enter the property.
The house was really nice and worked well for our group of 6. The ants were a real nuisance. The owner left a note about the ants being a problem at this time of year. We were extremely careful about not leaving anything out but there were still a lot of ants and it put a damper on our experience. I wouldn't expect to have to deal with this in a vacation rental.

Nightmare!
Ants and Spiders! Food left in the microwave. The ants ate our dinner and covered our son while sleeping, so we left early. We are seasoned travelers who have been around the world. This is one of the most disappointing experiences we have ever had. Gross and unacceptable.

Needs work - lack of responsiveness from host
The house has beautiful views, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The showers don’t drain properly and smell of mildew, several outlets in the master bathroom are non-functional. The sink hardware is broken in both bathrooms. The house was poorly stocked—there wasn’t even hand soap in the bathroom. The main floor bedroom didn’t have clean sheets. Additionally, the house key broke in the door when we returned from the park. Despite reaching out to the host immediately, we received no response — nearly four hours later a housekeeper was sent but with zero communication or response from the host. For the price point, I would not recommend this property.

Great visit to area
My family of 7 just visited Sequoia National Park for the first time, which was amazing. But we were recommended to visit Mineral King, which we had never heard of. WOW..it all I can say about Mineral King, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, (i've traveled all over the world). This house is located on a hill top above the river which is a perfect location to visit both parks. You can hear the river at night and see 'Moro Rock Dome' from all the windows facing East. This house is truly beautiful with some very specific details including a walk in shower with river slab on the floors and walls in master shower, two wood burning fire places, bbq grill on deck, comfy furniture and beds, plus it's fully wired with wifi and cable tv. I really loved the gourmet kitchen as all the appliances were stainless steel and it was fully stocked with all the supplies to make great meals. We plan to come back for a longer visit next time as I want to explore Mineral King more.
