What makes this property unique
Old Louisville in and of itself is a fascinating area. The neighborhood officially contains the largest collection of Victorian houses in North America. The architecture of each individual house in unique and breathtaking. Multiple historical walking tours are available in any season and if you happen to be a history or architecture nerd then there really there is no better place to explore. Third Street which is just a few blocks away is referred to as Millionaires Row because both sides of the street is lined with enormous Victorian Mansions, many of which have been preserved or restored. Central Park hosts concerts, festivals, and theatrical performances throughout the year. The Filson Historical Society is a short walk from the flat and right across the park is where Muhammad Ali was married. If you love culture and history, then you will fall in love with this neighborhood.
The flat itself is in a house that was built in the early 1900's, which means the ceilings are high, the floors are wood and the space is well appointed. It's also located directly across the street from Central Park which was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed for the Vanderbilt Estate and of course the most famous city park of all, Central Park in NYC. The bedroom has beautiful views of the Park. Also the balcony in the back of the flat, overlooking the mature landscaped garden steals the show. To be so centrally located and have such a beautiful, natural place to retreat to once the day is done, is incredibly special.
This property is our only short term rental and we love hosting. We are both well travelled and love welcoming visitors to the city we call home. You are not hosted by a large management company or staying in a place that feels cold or lifeless, as we really strive to make the flat feel cozy, comfortable and unique as the neighborhood itself.
