Chic Flat
This was a really lovely flat in the Old Louisville area. It had a warm, welcoming and comfortable vibe. It was well decorated and equipped with everything needed to make for a nice stay. The host was good about reaching out with helpful info and clear communication. It was a wonderful place to have as our base to explore Louisville!

Perfect Spot in Louisville
I can’t say enough good things about this property. It’s spacious, beautifully decorated, thoughtfully equipped, and has little touches (like great soaps, and coffee, etc.) that make it a five star experience. The hot water in the renovated shower? Soooo good. It feels like you’re staying in the best suite of a fancy bed and breakfast but with the privacy of it being your own space. The neighborhood is all vintage homes and across the street from a nice park. Although there is no designated parking, I had no difficulty finding a spot in front of the space. Thanks for making such a beautiful space available. It made my trip relaxing and wonderful. Id definitely stay here again.

The flat is located in a perfect spot - very walkable if you don’t mind walking places (we love to walk!). We stayed here while doing parts of the bourbon trail and it was great. The hosts we’re great and communication was easy! Cute place.

Hi I'm Ismail and people commonly shorten my name to Izzy. I'm a long time VRBO traveler recently turned host with my partner Nerissa. We have only one property, which means we can focus on giving you the best experience. We love hosting, and we can help you see Louisville like an insider with tips on the best art, music, food and culture - especially hard to find gems

Why they chose this property

You will be within minutes of downtown’s excellent distillery tours, waterfront park and theatres; NULU/Butchertown’s hip restaurants and galleries, the parks, boutiques and wonderful bars of the Highlands; Germantown’s exciting emerging gastronomic scene; the emerging arts scene in the Portland neighborhood; and the superb bookstores, parks and cafes of Crescent Hill. Less than a mile away are the University of Louisville’s JB Speed Art Museum (free on Sundays), and the phenomenal races and museum at Churchill Downs. Old Louisville itself is the city's most diverse neighborhood and boasts the longest and richest history. Old Louisville consists of 40+ blocks of the city's oldest homes and mansions. The neighborhood contains the largest collection of restored Victorian homes in the country and is the 3rd largest Historic Preservation District in the U.S. Finally, you are within a stone’s throw of some great neighborhood restaurants and bars, including: 610 Magnolia (Romantic Fine Dining) Old Louisville Brewery (Around the corner, Local Brews) Birdie & Vi's (Quirky Consignments and Beer) The Magnolia Bar (aka The Mag Bar- a Legendary Rocker Venue) The Tavern (Pub Grub) Old Louisville Coffee Co-op (Worker Owned, Homey cup of joe) North Lime (Coffee and Donuts) Pizza Donici (By the Slice Walk-up and Pie Delivery) Ollie’s Trolly (Walk up Hamburger spot) Dizzy Wizz (Throwback Drive In) Burger Boy (24 Hour Diner) Granville Inn (Beer Garden and College Bar) Bucks (Classic Fine Dining Establishment, Brunch)

What makes this property unique

Old Louisville in and of itself is a fascinating area. The neighborhood officially contains the largest collection of Victorian houses in North America. The architecture of each individual house in unique and breathtaking. Multiple historical walking tours are available in any season and if you happen to be a history or architecture nerd then there really there is no better place to explore. Third Street which is just a few blocks away is referred to as Millionaires Row because both sides of the street is lined with enormous Victorian Mansions, many of which have been preserved or restored. Central Park hosts concerts, festivals, and theatrical performances throughout the year. The Filson Historical Society is a short walk from the flat and right across the park is where Muhammad Ali was married. If you love culture and history, then you will fall in love with this neighborhood. The flat itself is in a house that was built in the early 1900's, which means the ceilings are high, the floors are wood and the space is well appointed. It's also located directly across the street from Central Park which was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed for the Vanderbilt Estate and of course the most famous city park of all, Central Park in NYC. The bedroom has beautiful views of the Park, but when push comes to shove, the balcony in the back of the flat, overlooking the mature landscaped garden steals the show. To be so centrally located and have such a beautiful, natural place to retreat to once the day is done, is incredibly special. This property is our only short term rental and we both love hosting. We are both well travelled and love welcoming visitors to the city we call home. You won't be dealing with some management company or staying in a place that feels cold or lifeless, as we really strive to make the flat feel cozy, comfortable and unique as the neighborhood itself.
