We had such a great experience here and John was very nice. Check in and check out was very easy!! And the hot tub was great!! I recommend everybody try this vrbo spot. :)
John’s house is a fantastic base for a ski trip to Utah if you want to hit more than one resort. House is conveniently located on a ski bus stop and provides easy access to Solitude/Brighton and Alta/Snowbird. There is also ample space in this house for a group and the hottub was great.
The unit is as advertised in terms of what it offers. We wondered how noisy and difficult the traffic might be, being directly on Fort Union Boulevard. Noise wasn’t an issue because of the way the house is set up on the rear of the property. There are a couple brief periods of the day when traffic can be a little heavy when exiting the driveway but overall it’s a non-issue. Zero turns to Brighton/Solitude and one turn to Alta/Snowbird is pretty convenient! John is very responsive if anything comes up. We had a couple small issues and he took care of them right away. He was also especially on top of things with regard to the hot tub, maintaining it several times while we were there.
We were planning on staying in a different Vrbo until we learned they were going to charge 250 for a pack-n-play rental for our baby to sleep in. John bought a new pack-n-play for our 2 week stay, we really appreciated this. Communication and the check-in process were both great! We saw John numerous times outside the shared unit next door, which would be convenient if you have any questions during your stay! The sheets and towels were all clean, but the home itself (especially upstairs) wasn't very clean for our stay and one of the bedrooms upstairs smelled like cigarette smoke while we were there. Also, we weren't able to fit our Nissan Altima (4-door car) in the garage due to a couch being stored in there, but we didn't mind parking in the driveway! The location is very close to the canyons, a park, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
We’ve been to a lot of places as a family that claim to ‘sleep ten’. Get there and find out it’s a futon and a fold out bed, and two people per full sized mattress. This place delivered on the accommodations and everyone had an adequate place for themselves to sleep on a real bed.Yard wasn’t anything too spectacular. But with a really nice park and splash pad right near by the location was overall very nice. Great AC for some hot summer days. Well equipped kitchen. Would highly recommend for a large group.
Well appointed property! Only negative was steps down to home and no basic spices. Good beds, great cookware, lots towels , toiletries, did not get to use hot tub . Kids liked foshball table and all the televisions , plenty of space . Busy street really wasn’t noisy as I thought it might be when arriving. Great overall home!
This house had lots of beds and was perfectly located and equipped for Parents of college students and friends meeting up to ski. Every thing you might need was within minutes
Short distance to Ski Bus, Ski Rental Shop, Whole Foods, and State Liquor store, quick uber or bus ride to many restaurants and retail stores. Hot tub was great, lots of beds so perfect for multiple family groups. Kitchen was well supplied with pots and pans / glassware, etc.
John's place was perfect for a Cottonwood Canyon snow trip. The hot tub was essential after long days on the mountain. Plenty of suppoes for cooking for the group and he was quick to respond to our questions during our stay. Would definitely stay again.
good things: It has a very eager and attentive owner who tries hard to help out and the location is good for ski slopes and nearby to shopping. The beds were comfortable, the home was quiet. The hot tub works very well. We stayed at Christmas and appreciated having a full size decorated Xmas tree. The garage holds 2 cars. The kitchen is fully stocked with equipment.bad things: This is an older home. The bathrooms are very small with tiny counters/sinks. There are many, many beds in this house- but the 2 small bathrooms would make it hard to have a crowd the older gas oven reaked of natural gas when used, so much so that we evacuated the house and called the landlord who called an inspector. He did find that the oven vented natural gas into the kitchen (which he said was normal ) and recommended that we turn on vents and ceiling fan when using the oven. He also found a small leak in the basement near the furnace which he fixed. The owner indicated he has already purchased a new electric oven after this incident so this may not be an issue for future guests. We returned home one evening at 10 pm to find the home was 59 degrees. The owner later indicated that the new thermostat was set to drop the temperature when nobody was around. I assume he changed this, but we were very uncomfortable waiting for the home to warm up.in both cases the owner was very attentive, arrived quickly when needed for the gas odor, and called us to make sure we were okay afterwards.
John’s place is a great and affordable option when you have a large group of people that you want in one place.
It has everything you need including shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryer lots of toilet paper, plenty of kitchen cooking supplies and plates.
It is an older property, but he keeps it clean and well stocked. It is also very close to lots of shopping and the freeway.
John also had a very detailed binder to get you acquainted with the area.
He was very accommodating and helpful with our requests.
There are 2 rooms upstairs and 1 room downstairs with a big game room that has 3 beds available. This worked well for our kids and the upstairs rooms were great for our parents so they didn’t have to navigate extra stairs.
The beds are a little older. They are stocked with plenty of pillows and blankets.
The house is also in walking distance of a nice park and has a hot tub off the patio. We didn’t use it, however, it looks like it would comfortably fit 4-5 people.
It worked out great for our group of 6 adults and 2 kids.
We loved this spot! So much room and a lot of beds, it would be perfect for a big family or friend gathering. The location was great and i felt like the listing was really accurate. Thanks for the stay, we had a great time!
Super location! Our family spent a week in this vrbo which is within walking distance of grocery and liquer stores. The owner/manager lleft us two bags of reeses on the table! A park next door with a lovely walking path. Close to the interstate so not more than a 20 minute drive from anywhere in the salt lake area. The beds were clean and comfortable. There was room for everyone to have their own space and a nice big living room area and kitchen to gather for meals and conversation. The yard is small but cute and woodsy. Very private. I sat outsie front or back each morning communing with Jesus in His beautiful creation. Nice hottub. It was so hot outside we didnt use it much though. Would be great n the Fall or Winter. The place was so well stocked with everything we needed including tons of clean linens, cleaning supplies, pots and pans, good old fashioned drip Mr. Coffee maker, a crockpot. And much more. Oh and central air! So nice!! We had a wonderful time with our family and would definitiely book this place again!
Th anywhere.
We had a great time here. The property is very cozy, and can hold a lot of people. I'd love to come back in the winter to go skiing.
