My family and I have stayed in a number of rentals over the years, and though we understand there aren't too many options when renting in this part of Florida, we did not feel this cabin was worth the price. The kitchen was not the most well-equipped and the refrigerator made a lot of noise throughout the night. We were thankful to be close to the lake, which is why we selected the cabin, but we felt it was overpriced.
Wonderful hosts, location and trip. Advice: if you have spotty cell service, screenshot info before hand. (Ask for WiFi via contacting hosts). Thank you!
Went for OHV trail riding and had a great time. Property location had decent road access for my 18' trailer and I could park it completely within the property fence and close the gate with it hooked to the tow vehicle. I did not see lake access but also did not go looking for it. It is a lower level rental where the owner stays upstairs but it was easy to forget they were there as it was quiet and relaxing. Neighbors were very polite when I got a bit lost due to bad Google directions (do not go straight at the signs, turn right instead). Good place for a single rider or couple to stay for OHV riding. Don't miss the opportunity to go to Odd Todd's if you're in the area. Some of the best food around.
Nick and Ericka were extremely attentive and gracious hosts! The place looks exactly like the pics, and the hosts went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable! Nick lit the bonfire for us each night, they had all the things you don't think of- charcoal for the grill, big spray, etc. Definitely recommend this place for some peace and relaxation!!
Bed was SUPER comfortable. Zip lining, Horseback riding and springs all within an hour. wish ROCU had the major news networks. and the driveway is an an adventure in itself.

Thank you for staying and the kind words. The Roku has 100+ channels, sorry if it did not have the one you wanted, but may have been able to have been programmed while you were here. maybe next time, you could let us know before or during your stay
Erika and Nick are very accommodating hosts. Rental is nice. This is a very rural experience so make sure that is what you are looking for. Road in is dirt and very rough. Which was fine for us. Note: there is no pool as stated.
We enjoyed our stay here, it was clean, cozy, and matched all the photos. I will say that I wish I had known the last 0.3 miles of the drive is very rough dirt roads. I would have driven the Jeep instead of the brand new Camry. Other than that, it was a pleasant visit.
The property is quaint and off the beaten track.
The property owners treated us like family; we could not have asked for a more enjoyable trip.
If you’re looking for shopping and spas, etc. The property is about a half hour from town, so this is might not be the place for you.
It’s exactly what we were looking for though.
We had a good stay! Host was very nice and helpful when we had a need. Cabin is off the beaten path. If you cannot live without Verizon cell service, this would not be an area for you. Host does offer WiFi at the cabin. There’s a river within walking distance if you like to do a little fishing. If you plan on swimming in the pool, I recommend double checking with the host to make sure it is open for use. Same with the hot tub. Charcoal grill available for guest use.
My woman and I had a wonderful time here. The host was very accommodating and the interior was thoroughly clean and inviting. The road to get to the property itself is in dire need of maintenance, but that’s nothing to do with the property itself. The one critique is the pool; it was dirty (had to clean it myself) and there were electrical outlets & wires running by the steps into the pool. That aside, we had no complaints and only praise.
The property was very nice and peacful. If you are looking to get away from the everyday rush in this world, this would be the right spot. My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. There was an incident that was out of everyones control, but the property owners handled it well. Nick and Erika were wonderful hosts. They even brought us some bread pudding from a restaurant they had visited (they did invite us to come along but my hubby and I were pooped). It was a vacation we will not forget. Thank you, Nick and Erika! 🙂

We didn't enjoy the location, too remote for what we expected via photos. The pool was not in condition for entering, the rooms smelled old and musky. The vinyl flooring was mismatched as was the interior design. The host was extremely nice and cooperative with offering a partial refund

We are very disappointed to see this review, and believe it to be unwarranted. As far as the location, you were given the address as soon as you booked, and would be able you tell you were in a remote location. Our conversation prior to your stay also let you know it's remoteness, so we believe this to be exactly as described in the description. The pool was cleaned that very morning, and the water was crystal clear during your stay. The cabin was also cleaned to our own high standards prior to your arrival, we would debate any 'musty' order. Being most of the cabin is made of wood, perhaps that is what you sensed. As far as the flooring, agree the tile is mismatched, we have not had the chance to work on n the flooring, however, it is exactly as pictured. Lastly, even though you left early without cancelling, we felt it fair to give you a partial refund, if you did not want to stay at this location, you had ample opportunity to cancel.
Also it sure seemed you had a great time while you were here as you laughed and stayed up late enjoying the surroundings, which is why we were shocked to see this review, we did everything we could to ensure your stay was enjoyable, from bringing ice, lighter, setting up the tiki torches, giving you mosquito repellant, we wanted to make sure your stay would be pleasant. We also spoke with VRBO prior to issuing the refund, and they mentioned you never gave any negative feedback about the cabin, nor did you cancel as requested. Again, we feel this review to be unfair, and would ask you to have VRBO take it down.
The husband & I do not care for the big cities & towns. So Jaunita’s Cabin was just right. It’s cozy. It’s comfortable. It’s delightful. It’s right close to the Ocklawaha River which is awesome.Salt Springs just down the road. Fabulous. If you want city-like conveniences and attractions, choose elsewhere. But if you want the peace & quiet of the Florida woods this is a lovely spot. We stayed for the month of November 2024. Loved it.Oh and the pet chickens were a sweet surprise.Nick & Erika were excellent hosts. For us, it was thoroughly delightful.
