It was so much better than the pictures showed. The living room was big and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We loved the porch and off street parking. I highly recommend this house!

The was a very nice and comfortable house. Nice size living room that was augmented by a wonderful and large porch. The bedrooms were a nice size and comfortable. The house was well maintained. I would say the only downside was the setup for the upstairs bathroom. It was only accessible through the one bedroom. Not a huge deal but required some “scheduling”. Was also a nice location. Fairly close to the downtown area and also just a short walk to the lake. We did not use the kitchen a whole lot as we were having a family gathering primarily using another larger cottage there. However seemed well appointed. Just a heads up that the coffee maker is a keurig using both pods and what looks like a single cup filter. Would recommend this cottage. We had 5 adults and one young child.

Lovely stay in Lakeside

We had such a wonderful stay in Lakeside! We visited during a very hot week, but the air conditioning worked great. Our favorite spot was the front porch. I love how perfectly it was laid out for family dinners, playing games and reading books. The location was convenient and the beds comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more.

We so enjoy staying at this cottage. It is a favorite for our family. We especially love the screened in porch. It’s conveniently located and has the amenities that our family looks for when staying at Lakeside. We appreciate the cleanliness and that the owners are quick to respond when we contacted them.

Lakeside Independence Holidays

We have relatives that own houses in Lakeside. This rental was for 10 of us from Texas and Tennessee who came to meet for a family reunion. We enjoyed our stay and the house was ideal for us.

Lakeside

The house is cute, clean, and close to everything in Lakeside. The screened-in porch is fabulous! Easy check in process; well stocked home; and the owners were easy to reach and responsive when we had a concern. Would highly recommend! Would also stay again.

Best parts about this cottage were its central location, the wonderful screened-in porch, and the A/C that kept even the 2nd floor wonderfully cool. 1.5 baths, so it is very helpful to have a toilet and sink in the laundry area. Renters should be aware that the upstairs bath is accessed through a bedroom. The bedroom with the 4 twin beds is spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped and was clean. LOTS of comfortable seating on the porch, and it was fully utilized for reading, conversation, and late-night games. The owners were great and communicated via email. There are 3-4 steps both front and back to enter the house. Lakeside is our extended family's favorite place on the planet, and we fully enter into everything it offers - shuffleboard, volleyball, tennis/pickleball, the Rhein art center, everything at Hoover, God Squad, the beach/dock/pavilion, mini golf, and always, lots of ice cream and bike riding. Thank you for sharing your very special home!

Lakeside Vacation House

The house is laid out well. The upstairs has three bedrooms that are set up with two full size beds and four twin beds (one bunk bed). Air conditioning was great since we visited during a heat wave. The wrap around screened in porch was nice. The location was only four blocks from downtown businesses and the park was close also. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would consider renting this location in the future.

Lovely home away from home

This lovely home was the perfect location for our family. The twin and bunk beds were great for our kids, and comfy beds for adults were appreciated. We enjoyed meals and board games around the table on the porch, which was also a comfortable location for afternoon and evening relaxation and conversation. The convenient location made it an easy walk to the Auditorium, Rhein Center and shops and restaurants, and to the band stand and park to enjoy vespers and amazing sunsets. The kitchen and large counter was perfect for preparing and serving meals. Having a washing machine, dryer, and air conditioning was also appreciated. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this lovely year-round home. Thank you.

Host was very accommodating and very easy to communicate with. Home was very clean and comfortable. As older travelers, the steps were a little steep but not enough to keep us from enjoying the home.
