The Oriental Treehouse Loft

Experience the charm and elegance of Old Town Victoria in The Oriental, a restored 19th century Victorian hotel. Our quirky loft blends original features such as the high ceilings and exposed brickwork with cozy, colourful furnishings, and a stunning wall print. Relax on our plush cloud sofa with a martini and cheese board or take a stroll downtown or around the water’s edge of the newly renovated harbour. Whether seeking culture, cuisine, or comfort - you’ll find it here!
The loft does not have its own parking stall

Parking:
$17/day: Bastion Square Parkade across the street @ 575 Yates St (free evenings after 8 pm - 8 am and all day Sundays)
$4/hour: all meters 8 am-8 pm Monday - Saturday (free during evenings)

-Due to limited space the ceiling in the upstairs loft is height restricted. You cannot stand fully upright in the loft bedroom. I am sorry I do wish I could add 2 feet.
-Please note access to the loft bed is through a set of stairs with a very awkward height. Very tall, elderly and small child are not be the idle candidates for this space

Professional Cleaning and Sanitation
Our suite is professionally cleaned and maintained by a team of turnover specialists. They follow enhanced sanitation protocols and procedures to ensure your stay is as pristine and idyllic as the photos shown in this listing. Their commitment to cleanliness includes thorough sanitization for your peace of mind.

You'll be charmed by colourful, early nineteenth-century buildings which house unique and creative boutique shops. The neighborhood is riddled with beautiful pubs, amazing cafes, and Incredibly tasteful restaurants.
Guests have full access to the unit. Prior to checking in, we will provide a door code that will give you access to the unit and fobs.

The unit can be accessed at all times either via the keypad lock. Please use your FOB to access the entry point to the building as well as the elevator.

Guests also have access to the courtyard on the ground level. Garbage and recycling is located in the outbuilding.

Bike Lock Storage is there for your convenience be sure to bring your own lock, however.

The rooftop Patio with BBQ can be accessed by taking the stairs on the 3rd floor. Head down the hall and take a right. Go through the door and up the stairs. Voila, you've reached the rooftop patio.
The lofty life has many unique and authentic accents throughout the living space. Upon entry, you will feel the warm ambiance from the historic brick. The beautiful wood accents and hand-painted one-of-a-kind artwork. The space has been created and put together with lovely thought and creativity.

Bedroom
Leading up a winding staircase guests will find the cool and quirky bedroom which features a queen Endy mattress, towering above the rest of the unit. Cute and fun for many, we do advise the bedroom is height-restricted and so may not be suitable for the elderly or those with mobility problems.

Bathroom
3-piece modern bathroom with a shower/tub combo and toiletries provided including body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Freshly laundered towels are of course provided!

Kitchen
Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to whip up a delicious meal for yourself and loved one. Stocked with pots, pans, and cooking basics including, salt, pepper, spices, and oil. And to make your cooking experience even more fun, you can play your favourite tunes on our speaker and dance along whilst you sizzle and stir!

Lounge/living space
Our cloud sofa is so cosy and plush you’ll feel like you’re floating on air. Grab your snacks, a tasty beverage and choose your favourite film for a relaxing movie night in! We provide access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+, so you certainly won’t be short of options.

Bonus features
Access to the building’s shared rooftop patio with BBQ!

For those attractions that aren't so close:

- Victoria Harbour Water Taxies: Hop on and off at numerous points around the city's historic harbour. Be sure to check out the pickle boat ballet in the summer months.

- Transit: The public bus system will take you from the BC Ferries Schwartz Bay terminal to within 5 minutes walking distance of our place. Get bus #70 from the ferry terminal and get off at the 'Douglas and Cormorant' stop.

- Victoria Airport: No bus services here, so best to get to and from via taxi or shuttle bus.

- Cycling - The building is right near the Galloping Goose bicycle trail. At 60 km (36 miles) long, it connects downtown Victoria to Sooke. The trail is incredibly scenic, with access to many beautiful sites like Matheson Lake Park, East Sooke Park, Spirit Bay Park, Sooke Potholes Park, etc.
Bicycles can be rented at numerous locations nearby, such as MEC, North 48, Ride the Glide (for electric bicycles), etc.

Amazing loft & location!
My husband and I were in the city for a work conference. This loft is in the best location in the city. Close to great coffee shops and restaurants, within walking distance to a lot of great spots. The loft has everything you need for a great stay. We felt like we were living like a local! Would definitely recommend staying here if you want a fun stay in Victoria :)

The property itself is very nice - the loft style makes for a very unique stay. The location is great downtown Victoria, within easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions. The apartment was clean and well-maintained and had all utilities functioning. My main complaint comes with the terrible communication from the host/ rental company used by the hosts. The intercom on the building was broken when I arrived (not fault of the hosts), however there was no way for me to contact the hosts to gain access to the building. I was stuck outside for so long, until a random stranger who lived there eventually came out, took pity on me and let me in. I then I had to wait again to be able to use the elevator, because you need a fob to use that too and I of course did not have it yet. I emailed the only email address I had, an address for the company the host uses, and got no responses, even by the end of my stay. I only received automatic responses asking me how my stay was, and that I should contact them with any questions... This was a pretty terrible start to my stay and very inconvenient. I suggest this be changed in the future and guests be provided with contact info before arriving.
