THE CABIN

The cabin was built with logs from the original farmhouse on the property dating back approximately 200 years. The original farmhouse was situated atop the hill and was moved down by prior owners. The cabin is warm and comforting. It has that old time log cabin feel but with all the modern conveniences and none of the mustiness.

The master suite is on the lower level. It has a comfy king size bed with extra pillows and blankets. A wood burning stove is available for guests. A bundle of wood, kindling, and Firestarter are provided.

A comfortable sitting are with a pull out sleeper (plus a comfy memory foam tower in the cedar chest) and two addition chairs, one is a glider rocker, round off the master suite. Your TV is in this area. With lots of streaming services ready to watch.

Upstairs you'll find a full kitchen with pretty much all you need to cook a gourmet meal. A 5 burner has stove and electric oven, full size refrigerator, kitchen utensils, etc.

Large dinner table with 8 chairs makes for a great gathering space. Games are provided for guests to enjoy. If you need to work, pull up a chair, there's plenty of space.

The bathroom is in the lower level. It is large with two sinks and a full size tub. Plush towels are provided. If you left behind any necessities, we probably have them for you. A hairdryer is also provided as well as an ironing board and iron (in the upper level closet).

The laundry room in on the upper level. All the essentials are provided.

Outside, enjoy the fire pit and birdwatching benches. Start your day with a walk in the woods behind the cabin. Surrounded by 14k acres of conservation land, birdwatching is spectacular. Ask about the Merlin app to help you ID what you hear. As the day fades to night, a bonfire sets the tone for the ideal evening.

There's a front porch with rocking chairs from which to watch the sunset. A charcoal bbq grill is outside the upper level entrance, next to the deck. Cooking utensils are provided.

SEASONS
The area has the best climate one could ask for. Moderate temperatures most of the year allow for great outdoor enjoyment. We have great seasons in the mountains of Saluda. Spring is bright green and filled with wildflowers. Summers invites visitors to the creeks and swimming hole at Little Bradley Falls, a short hike from the cabin. Fall colors are breathtaking. Time you're visit to harvest fresh raspberries from the bushes bordering the property. Or enjoy delicious pears from two large trees in front of the log cabin.

There are AC/heat units on each floor to keep guests cool during the warmest weeks of the year, warm on even the coolest nights. Heat is also available from gas heaters. Best of all, there's a great wood burning stove for that authentic cabin feel.

Mobile service is available. Best service is through T-Mobile and Verizon. WiFi is provided at 25mps which is great for the region. You can stream movies, work off your tablet/laptop, and chat with family and friends.

Access to the cabin is easy from Holbert Cove Road. There are no dirt roads or steep roadways to deal with. There's very little car traffic in the area, so be ready to enjoy a peaceful stay at a traditional log cabin in the mountains of North Carolina.

PET GUESTS:
Dogs are welcome, as long as they are well-behaved and house-trained. We do charge an extra fee of $25 for more than 2 dogs. Please message usbin advance. You can add them as guests when you book. The cabin is kept very clean for all our guests, regardless of how many legs. :) Puppy towels are available in case you left yours at home. We provide water and food dishes for our furry friends. Please help keep the woods natural and pick-up after your pups. Most places in town are dog friendly, as are most trails.

PHOTOSHOOTS & COMMERCIAL FILMING:
Personal photoshoots are welcomed. We host a number of engagements, anniversaries, and wedding guests. The grounds at the cabin are a beautiful backdrop for any photo shoot. Your reservation provides access for two guests and a photographer. If you are filming or photographing for commercial use, or bringing a larger crew or a film crew a commercial use fee will be added to your reservation.

Perfect for us
This wonderful cabin was the only thing that worked out perfectly for our trip to the Saluda/Tryon area. Unfortunately, I had a grade 3 sprained ankle from an incident a few days before we arrived so we did not get to explore the trails as planned, but they are right up the road from the cabin. We are so grateful to Esther for being an absolutely incredible host! The cabin was clean, well stocked, and let me tell you the pictures do not do it justice on how cute it is. We absolutely fell in love with the place and will be back soon, once my ankle heals and we can truly enjoy the area. The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and our two dogs. Everyone had enough space to relax, but still be close by. Thank you again, Esther! We really needed this!
