Swanky stay in Austin

Oh wow what a treat! The property was amazing. It has a swanky romantic vibe. The kitchen was a treat to cook in and the set up was comfortable and relaxing. The property owner Navid is so nice and very helpful making you feel welcome and giving suggestions on what to do in the area. 5 stars!!!

“Okay” Stay

The location and size of the house is accommodating. However, the house reeked of cigarettes [we are non-smokers], and you will not get 100% privacy. The two side windows and one back window do not have blinds, and there is a 2-in. gap between the blind and window frame in the front windows, so passersby’s can see you in the evenings.

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We love to hear from all of our guests. I'm sorry the home smelled of cigarettes. We found out that the guest that checked out the day you checked in was smoking cigarettes in the home. We did offer you a full refund, but you said it was fine and that you preferred to stay in the home. After you checked out a restoration company was brought in to take care of the smell. The walls were all painted and all new furniture was replaced in the home just to be on the safe side. There have been 5 or 6 reservations since your stay and nobody has had any issues, which of course can also be verified via Airbnb reviews. The front windows will not have a gap, and will have full privacy, if you pull the motorized blinds all the way down. You can stop the blinds at any height. The two side windows and one back window intentionally don't have blinds because of their location, high above the ground, and inability for anyone to see in. Of course 99.9% of our bookings are on Airbnb, more than 100 reviews, and we have not had any mention of any guests having issues with the windows. That being said, because we have never had any comments regarding the windows which anyone can verify, we do believe the comments regarding the blinds/windows were intentional and malicious because you were upset about the cigarette smell. The smell was out of our hands and you did decline a full refund and decide to continue your stay in the home for multiple days.

UT Austin Graduate

Needed a place to stay for UT Law School graduation. The Glass House was a great location with easy access to campus, downtown and the very cool Hyde Park neighborhood in which it’s located. As noted, everything was spotless. Check in and check out were simple. No long list of duties prior to departure. The best thing about the house is the design that gives you the feel of a very spacious home. Everything was well done, Generous supply of towels, nice bedding, and gourmet cooking/dinning ware. Our only problem was initial communication with the property owner/manager. It’s nice to confirm your rental is “real” as we’ve had bad experiences in the past. But within 24 hrs of our check in the property owner reached out with all the information we needed. I attribute the miscommunication to the fact this property is primarily active on another STR platform and relatively new to VRBO. Regardless, we are looking forward to our next stay in the glass house.
