About Mike McGuire
We have been traveling to Mexico for many years, and just by chance ended up staying on one of the beautiful beaches along Concepcion Bay. We fell in love with the people, beaches, fishing, kayaking, and exploring. We had been searching for the perfect 'dream home', and in June of 2010, we not only found it, we but bought it! It has been a bed and breakfast for the last 10 years. We will be renting it out, so that we can share the wonders of Baja with you! We have made many improvements and added many toys to complete your dream vacation. Our dream home, or Casa de los Sueños as we like to call it, translated in English is our 'house of Dreams!' Truly, a place for families to feel secure while making countless memories!
Mike McGuire purchased this Villa in 2010
Why Mike McGuire chose Mulegé Municipality
Beautiful views, beautiful beaches, and beautiful people! Way too many activities to even list. And we do major improvement every year to make this place better and better. This place is so relaxing you may not even want to go to the beach. Just chill out and watch everyone from the shaded balcony.
What makes this Villa unique
Private beach, private hot springs, world class kayaking, snorkeling out your front door, outrageous sunrises, scuba diving, cave painting, spear fishing, sport fishing, hiking, whale watching, dolphins, turtles, sea rays, sea lion, whale shark sightings, clamming, surfing expeditions, star gazing, and above all,.................. just relaxing while listening to the gentle surf! The McGuire Family are water people and world class spear fishermen if you would like to plan a trip while we are here you can join us on some fun spearfishing adventures. Spring for Yellow tail and Amber Jack. summer is Amber jack and Dorado. early fall we find a few tuna, wahoo, and the grouper are fun to hunt in these great visibility months. This is a kids dream home and area
Please take garbage to the big can up stairs. Toilet paper only goes in the trash. Limit your electricity use as we are on a solar, battery system.
All cooking scraps, oils, extra food needs to go into the garbage, not down the sink, this keeps our septic tank happy and working. Drink bottled wate
Water is VERY expensive to have trucked here, keep showers short every other day. Use outside shower when coming off the beach Good Rules = Fun times
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Beautiful property and location with lots to do for the water lover. Would suggest a swamp cooler for high temperatures since AC not currently an option. Would return many times over in summer if AC was an option.
The most perfect vacation spot we've found in years!
Spacious and clean, stunning location with total privacy on your own beach, and a sweet small "neighborhood" with friendly and engaging folks (seems to be mostly Americans who spend half the year there) about a 10 minute walk away. Not a hotel to be found here. Many balconies with seating to choose from to watch the sunrise, and great views from every bedroom. Mike was really helpful in answering all sorts of questions and providing activity suggestions in advance in response to my emails. We debated if the drive to the whale watching out of San Ignacio was worth it, and without a doubt it was - amazing to be in such a small boat with whales on both sides, peeking up to see you. It was unusually cool and windy when we were there so we did not get to enjoy the snorkeling and swimming, but this just gives us another reason to go back!
Wind normally stops In March
And April - May starts to warm up as all the fun spring things happen
End of Grey whales....
Beautiful house, exceptional location
We love the house and location. We had previously stayed in the casita and wanted to share this special place with our daughter and grandson. Although the house was really too big for us and price is high by Mexico standards, we decided to splurge. The private beach is so awesome with all of the kayaks and paddle boards. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in. The beds are comfy and the views are exceptional. We shared the house and kitchen with the owners and their friends and had some awesome fish dinners together. Mike arranged a day of fishing for us so we were eating fresh fish that our grandson caught. He couldn't have been happier. Stephanie and Mike were very nice to us and shared kitchen and food with us, so meals were easy. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was that it was disconcerting and inconvenient that the house was not ready when we arrived at check in time. Mike required we rent the whole house, but then emailed us that they would be staying in the casita, then a few days later that they would be bringing some friends, could they use one of the bedrooms. We said OK. Then day we were traveling there, email that they were in the master bedroom and going whale watching, put our stuff downstairs and they would sort out rooms later. They arrived home at 6 pm and asked if we wanted them to move out of master suite. We said we could stay where we were if he discounted house, NO discount. But, they would move to a different bedroom, to the floor of the casita, or even off the property if we wanted them to. We were very uncomfortable and didn't want to kick them out of the house. So, said we would move to master suite and they could stay in other bedroom. They said ok, but were going out to dinner first, so we couldn't move into our bedroom until about 8 pm. Everything else was wonderful. I feel bad about leaving this review and almost didn't leave any review. But as I write this I guess I feel strongly that they did not handle this situation well and should consider doing something different in the future.
Excellent experience! Great for a group!
We rented this villa for a reunion of exchange students and their spouses. It was perfect! The home is beautiful, having kayaks and fresh deliver us of fish from Carlos much appreciated(and enjoyed!) This location is great for privacy and a large group. Thank you for offering it!
Thanks for the great write up and glad you had a great time.
Let me know when your ready for another adventure.
Great Stay in Baja!
My husband and I stayed in the Casita for a week in May. It was comfortable and clean with a great views. We had a wonderful time kayaking and SUPing in the Bay. Perfect place to relax and unwind.
Glad you had such a great time.
Hope to see you again some time
You are welcome back anytime. and thanks for all the great pictures.
Canyoneering to cave paintings, several exciting geo caches on islands and mountains, snorkeling on a reefs and wrecks outside your back door, 8+ kayaks included to explore private beaches-mangroves-and 7 islands, world class sports fishing, whale watching and surfing on the pacific side, shopping, Old missions in the area.......And the whale sharks are making a come back every spring April -July, 7 in 2010, great for snorkeling with. You may also collect clams and scallops from the region.
