Lovely home convenient to Asheville and mountains

Not one of the "oh shoot, this wasn't what it looked like in the photos!" The house was comfortable, lovely, decorated nicely. It was well stocked with small items that make life easier like oil, spices, even small creamers. They provided laundry soap, higher end bath supplies and thick towels. Quiet wooded neighborhood. Easy enough to get to the northeastern higher mountains, the city. Communication with rental manager was easy with quick responses. Great stay overall: wonderful place and well priced.

About the host

Hello! I love to travel and have enjoyed the warm hospitality of other VRBO rentals across the country. Now I have the great pleasure of hosting others in my mountain home in Asheville, North Carolina. The music and beauty of the mountains initially brought me to the area, and the community is what keeps me coming back.

Why they chose this property

Riceville Forest is a mountain community, just 7 miles northeast of Asheville, and provides the perfect balance of proximity and privacy. Riceville Forest's scenic, wooded setting with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains make it feel worlds away, but a short drive will bring you to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Riceville Forest boasts some of the most undeveloped land in Buncombe County, with a high biodiversity of flora and fauna. Riceville’s forests and streams are home to many species of wildlife. There are plenty of trails nearby featuring beautiful forests, cascading streams, small waterfalls, and some cliff-top views. Some of the neighborhood favorites include Shopes Creek, Warren Wilson College trail system, Haw Creek Valley Overlook. The 42-acre WNC Nature Center and Folk Art Center are also just down the road.

What makes this property unique

This home is located on a dead-end street with little traffic, so it is very peaceful - yet not completely isolated. Beautiful trees in the yard and surrounding the house. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walking, with beautiful mountain views in every direction.
