July 4th Shenanigans

The location of the cabin was absolutely amazing! The place was clean and very welcoming with "treats on the cabin." Communcation with the manager was very easy and responses were very timely. I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking a delightful get away!

Our stay in the Pavilion cabin was great! The location is a bit remote, but accessible via a winding paved mountain road. The cabin is adjacent to a meadow with a wonderful view of Hermit’s Peak. The area is forested with opportunities to view wildlife. The cabin is rustic and might have been built 75 years ago, maybe more? Being older the cabin is not perfect but is authentic. It’s clean and cared for and solid. Newer flooring and bath fixtures are among the updates, with lots of caulking to make the cabin “tight.” The cabin does have lower ceilings, so someone over 6’2” might be uncomfortable. The kitchen has all the basics that are needed for cooking. Be sure to bring all the food you need! No issues with the WiFi or tv service. No heat or A/C but we were completely comfortable in late May. The hosts are friendly, helpful and responsive. We visited the Las Vegas plaza and museum, Fort Union National Monument, Las Vegas National Wildlife Preserve and drove the national forest roads including a drive to Johnson Mesa. We also went to Taos one day and hit Santa Fe on the way home. We had a great time and would definitely return!
