We've lived in Austin more than 15 years - love the city and love being in the heart of things. We're devoted Barton Springs swimmers + Alamo Drafthouse fans. I work in the music industry here + love to recommend venues and bands, always love sharing what our city has to offer and how to make the most of a visit.
Why they chose this property
Convinced this is the single best location in Austin - close to just about everything, with a neighborhood feel. We love to walk over to Medici for coffee in the mornings, love to head to the Alamo for a movie with no need to rush (we leave 3 min before movie begins!) and also no need to park - literally a 300 foot walk. We probably go to Barton Springs Pool 200 days out of the year - maybe more. Zilker Park is an easy walk & even ACL theater is just across the bridge, as is the gorgeous central library.
What makes this property unique
Not to be repetitive, but location is unreal!! We also love the feel of the home - airy, full of light, relaxed, remarkably private considering how close it is to the action. Also the home has so many usable gathering spaces -- the backyard is inviting, the living room with a fireplace and beautiful windows, the kitchen seating nook, the separate TV room / game room / reading room, PLUS the backyard cottage with its own screened porch.
