A rustic yet luxurious hideout, 30 feet above the ground, nestled within the trees of an exquisite 150 acres of rolling hills and ever-changing meadows.
We call this property The Bird House. This is a one bedroom, one bath cottage nestled 30ft into the tree line. Large picture windows and a private porch that overlook the trees where this one room cottage rests. Picturesque views of the nearby meadows where you can often sight our family owned bison grazing in the nearby pastures. This well appointed cottage includes two twin beds, a coffee and tea bar, a stocked wine refrigerator stocked (available for additional purchase) as well as a small private bathroom with toilet, single sink and shower.
Guests of the property have access to the walking trails that wind along creeks, through forests, ponds, meadows and the bison pastures. Bison pastures are for viewing pleasure only and guests are restricted from entering these pastures for safety reasons. This is a wonderful getaway for wildlife fans who want to see bison roaming in their habitat as well as so many other Ohio native animals and birds.
The birdhouse guest house is ideal as a quiet couples getaway. We are not set up for families or people traveling with pets due to the serene environment we have created. The guesthouse is not wheelchair accessible, and this property is adjacent to our family home. Guests will enter through the back porch steps of our home and walk along the back porch and over a high walkway bridge to access the private cottage.
Please note: there are no blinds or curtains, most guests prefer to wake up with the sunrise and enjoy the vast country views. Wifi is not reliable - this is a very rustic setting that sometimes includes visits from bugs and critters since the home is quite literally set within trees. 11pm to 8am is quiet time.
This is a truly unique experience, and one of the most beautiful views in all of Ohio. “To wake up to a sunrise, where are you enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sunrise from the porch that overlooks bison grazing in the field – it’s truly one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had “
