Sam Gamgee has a special place in our hearts, so the hobbit hole he inspired is our favorite of the four: carefully crafted, elegantly appointed and as comfortable as any hobbit hole in the Shire or out of it! From the cozy loveseat by the wood stove to the sleigh bed with a sheer canopy, this place will transport you to Middle Earth. A substantial and delicious breakfast is included every morning during your stay. This is a true Bed & Breakfast Inn, so put on the bathrobe and prepare to be pampered! Our hobbit holes are a short walk from the parking area near our family's home. It's close enough to deliver second breakfast hot to your room, but far enough to enjoy your privacy. They sit on top of a hill with a broad view of the oak trees and open pasture below.
In addition to your own private hobbit hole, guests are welcome to wander the 40-acre property, keeping a respectful distance from our home and the other guest rooms.
Our property is on a private road, close to highway 299, but far enough away to eliminate almost all noise. Low light pollution means great opportunities for stargazing at night. You'll hear birds all day and the occasional coyote pack in the distance at night, but that's about all! You'll need a car to get to and from our property. We have plenty of outdoor parking near the rooms, but not right in front. We're glad to help with luggage when you arrive or leave - just let us know!

We were heading north on a ten day tent camping trip and needed a place to stay for a night where the loaded down truck would be safe over night. So glad we found this place. My 10 year old son and I very much enjoyed the stay and it is as expected, super cool. Staying in a hobbit hole has now been checked of the old bucket list. Definitely recommend staying here and I’m sure we will be back.
