About the host
Hosted by John Ingersoll

Born and raised and educated in western PA . John's father, a blue collar steel worker, and his mother, an elementary school teacher, stressed hard work, organization and outdoor play. John arrived in Oregon in 1983 and fell in love with the Cascades. His mountain background started as a ski instructor in 1984 and progressed to snowboarding in 1989. He was the first PNW fully certified instructor in both sports and in 1989 he founded High Cascade Snowboard Camp on Mt Hood. HCSC was the first and largest snow sports camp in the world. HCSC's mission statement is 'Change lives through snowboarding.' His other passions are spending time with his daughters Jill and Kate, Bikram yoga, surfing, cycling, Nordic skating and carpentry.
Why they chose this property
I like to snowboard year round. Government Camp is an awesome one of a kind walking village, and a great location for winter recreation without the long drive. The surrounding Oregon Cascades are incredible for year-round outdoor recreation.
What makes this property unique
Close to downtown life in the village of Government Camp, all Mt Hood ski areas and cross country facilities. Good on site parking, kids can sled close to the lodge. Two Hot Tubs: one on each of the top floor decks!
