We are so grateful for our stay at this amazing cabin. All of the visual touches are impressive as well as the comfort of the stay there. The was a scheduling conflict but David, our host, was amazing in accommodating us. I would definitely recommend this beautiful cabin. You and your family will love it.
Canât say enough good things about this cabin! Excellent location, great communication with owner. And that bathroom - just wow! Exactly what I was looking for, for a few day ski getaway for myself!
A great basement cabin getaway. Super close to Brighton, Silverlake and the hikes in the area. Owner was super helpful and responsive when we had issue with the door lock. We stocked and comfy!
We had a lovely stay at Davidâs. The place was well located, a 10-15min walk to the lifts. David was very communicative and helpful before and throughout our stay. He was kind enough to get a fire going for our arrival. Our favorite part of the rental was the large shower with many heads and the sauna!
This was a great location for our ski trip to Brighton (walking distance) and Solitude (5 minute dive). The apartment is clean and warm, and David was extremely welcoming and helpful. Make sure to read all of the info he has on the website. I will definitely consider staying here again.
A super nice and spacious property right near the Brighton loop. The living room, bedroom, and bathroom was very large and provided plenty of room to relax after a long day of hiking the area. An amazing place if youâre planning on staying in the canyon for a few days or longer. The property owner was super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. He was also extremely quick to respond to our questions. We would definitely stay here again!
This was a wonderful staycation for our family! The cabin has a warm, rustic feel and it very roomy. Great location at the mouth of Brighton Resort but you still felt like you were getting away from everything. Terrific kitchen with high-end appliances. Loved the deck and fire pit area. Several great hikes and lakes within a relatively short distance. Our host David was great to work with. We will be back!
David was extremely communicative, responsive, and helpful. He went above and beyond to make the trip as great as possible. Beautiful location. Check in process was ideal- he even made a YouTube video (which came in handy d/t all the snow). Walk right to the lifts. Brighton store just across the street. Personal touches. And clearly a good taste in movies due to the artwork in the bathroom đ.
The area surrounding the house is very beautiful, very close to Brighton Resort. There are no restaurants near the cabin. It is about 30 minutes over the mountain to Park City, but it is a very beautiful drive. The house is pretty much is shown in the pictures. I did not realize when I booked that this is the bottom floor of a two story cabin. We heard every footstep and toilet flush of the people above us. The water was not hot enough for the whirlpool bath . The host was available by phone to correct problems.

There are actually four restaurants within 3 miles and dozens more at the bottom of the canyon..
There were no guests staying in the top unit during the time this guest was staying and the property has been professionally soundproofed in the event there were.
Upon arrival for our stay, it was discovered that the owner of the property was not aware of our reservation and he was currently living in the unit we reserved. He offered us to say in the other unit above the one we reserved - he did let us know that it was not "white-glove" clean but only needed to have some bedding changed to get it ready. The unit he offered was not clean, many surfaces were dusty, the carpets needed to be vacuumed, and there were spots of dried food on the kitchen countertops. Although we did not get to see the inside of the unit we originally reserved, the outside of the property did not look nearly as nice as the pictures in the listing made it look. The lower unit we reserved had a door with a keypad, but the upstairs unit we were offered did not have any form of door; the unit was accessed by a spiral staircase in what seemed to be a doorless utility room just beyond the entry door to the lower unit. After letting the owner know that we would be passing up his offer to use the upstairs room, he became angry with us and questioned why - after we explained

We totally acknowledge that there was a breakdown in communication on our part on this situation. We want the readers to know that we immediately attempted to resolve this problem by allowing the guests to stay in a unit that was three times the size and while it had not been Given our normal white glove cleaning treatment, it was still sufficient to stay in. These guests were very unsatisfied at any attempt that we made to make it right with them and they have a right to be. But this is a very rare occurrence and a result of a calendaring problem we had with the VRBO calendar synchronization we apologize to Samuel again and hope that he was able to find accommodations that were suitable.
My girlfriend and I stayed for the weekend for her birthday and snowboarding, we had an amazing time! Davidâs place is perfect, nice well stocked little kitchen, spacious living room and bedroom, and the pictures of the bathroom do not do it justice - you have your own personal sauna and whirlpool for apres ski! Itâs as close to ski in ski out as you can get for Brighton - we were sipping on coffee watching an endless line of cars come through, got ready and a short little 5 min walk to first chair. Easy ski in if you take the back roads which is very simple. No issues maintaining a comfortable temperature in the place between the wood burning stove and heated floors. David was always available if we needed anything, super friendly. helpful and flexible! We will definitely be coming back!
The unit is located on the bottom part of the cabin. We got there pretty late at night, and were having a rough time finding it but the owner had a lovely YouTube video with instructions which was super helpful.
We had a great stay and 10/10 would stay again.
The sauna is amazing đ
The bed was comfy.
The fireplace was cozy.
The bathtub was to die for.
I was overwhelmingly delighted to stay in this gem.
The owner of this property is directly engaged. We checked in with a few minor issues ( not of the owners doing) but they were addressed right away after a brief call with the property owner. David went above and beyond to insure our stay was perfect!
We loved staying at this amazing cabin! It's a gorgeous space and location. The details throughout the whole space are so thoughtfully created and not to mention fun! Led lights, hot tube, sauna, and if you love music, the speakers throughout are awesome. The living space and kitchen area were great to gather in and allowed for our group to easily connect. We loved spending time on the deck as well. This was a great space for our group but can also be a great space for intimate one on one connection. Highly recommend.
This cabin is so cool. If you want to enjoy Brighton and big cottonwood the best way possible, this cabin is the perfect home base. Itâs cozy, itâs cool, the deck is unbelievable to hang out on and the views are incredible. Itâs got everything you need, and the hot tub is the cherry on top for me! You wont be disappointed if you come up for a stay here. Itâs awesome. Right at the base of the resort for winter and there are tons of hikes and trails right around the cabin to enjoy all summer as well. This place is great!

Not what we expected
Located at the beginning of the Brighton loop. I expected ski in ski out to be just that, but you have to either walk or drive to the mountain. There is no ski out. Maybe with a bunch of snow you could find a way to ski in, but not the ski in/out place that was expected. Sinks look great in the bathroom, but difficult to get hot water and they splash water all over you when used. The biggest disappointment was that there were ants all over the place. I laid down on the couch to watch TV and found ants crawling on me and all over the floor. Texted David and he brought ant traps that did nothing. There were ants crawling in all of our stuff by the time we left. Door would not lock when we left the place and was not locked when we arrived. No way to lock place when you leave. Paid plenty for this place and had no control over the heat. Heated floor was not enough, so a fire was needed. Good luck finding a comfortable temp. Either way too hot with a fire or too cold with just the heated floor. For the price being paid, you should be able to control the heat. Not at all happy with our stay here, but the place looks great in the pics.

We investigated the ant problem and could not see the ants that were being complained about. The guests did leave food all over the floor which may have attracted some insects although we found none.
We have not ever had a âsplashy sinkâ complaint in 10 years. Not sure what that is about.
You will need to be an intermediate level skier to ski into the cabin and be prepared to walk 7 min to the closest lift from the cabin or ride the free shuttle. We will update the description so that all beginner skiers know in the future.
We stand by our representations however if you are the type of guest that looks to extort and threaten a bad review with the hope of getting a discount by making false or exaggerated claims please do not rent this property. You will not be given any refund.
Excellent location. Our stay was the first week of August. There is a lot to do from here. There are several trail heads with-in walking distance. We drove the pass over to Park City. The drive was great and Park City was okay but to be honest we decided weâd rather just stay local to the cabin location and enjoy the outdoors. We saw several deer and a mother moose and baby right next to the cabin. There was moose and deer sightings on the hikes. The cabin was honestly the cleanest VRBO stay we have ever stayed at. Iâm a big fan of radiant heating and this place has that. We will definitely plan another trip here.
Location was great as it was right across the street from silver lake and the Brighton general store. We got to see the local moose in the area right outside the cabin!

Just OK - felt like a dungeon
I thought I was booking a luxury condo in Brighton, but this was far from that. The photos are very deceiving. I booked this rental for 3ânights for just me as I was attending a wedding at the Solitude Resort. I arrived at 10pm to pitch darkness. No lighting on the outside of the home except a small motion light by the âfrontâ back door. The check in process is not a really a process. It says the last four of your phone number is the code to get in. The key pad is inoperable and the unit was unlocked (on top of a âfrontâ back door that takes a wrestler to open! That âfrontâ back entry door doesnât lock and you enter into a shared laundry locker room area.). Who knows who and what was waiting behind the door? Iâm a woman traveling alone and I was scared! I opened the door while on FaceTime with my husband just in case.
Once inside I locked the small deadbolt. You canât lock door when you leave!! Scary. Turned on kitchen light, half are burnt out in wagon wheel light and one ceiling light is half burnt out as well. I went through the whole place turning on every light I could. I couldnât see my hand in front of my face. The only good lighting is in the bathrm so I kept them on. The only lighting in the living room is a string of outdoor lights above your head. 3/4 of that string was out as well. On top of all the burned out bulbs, the ones that work are Edison bulbs which are very dim. It was just as dark in daytime! No light!
Refrigerator had a gallon of past dated milk. Probably from the last renter. I did not cook, but the kitchen has a few pots and pans but only 1 glass & 1 plastic drinking cup. There isnât a dishwasher and the sponge wasnât new(didnât touch it). There wasnât any cleaner. There are no amenities available except a roll of tp and pt, not even hand or bath soap. Luckily I had a bar of soap in my bag from a recent hotel stay. There was a hair dryer & enough clean towels. I didnât use the jetted tub or sauna, no operating instructions. Knowing which handle does what in the shower would be nice so you donât get a cold pre-shower before getting in. I never got any hot water in the bathrm sinks. Bed is comfy. TV and wiring hangs from ceiling. Only operable windows are in bedroom. They have shutters and are dirty. Slider in living rm is off limits. The wifi worked fine. Guests upstairs last night came at 11pm, very loud. Host responded timely when messaged, he was pleasant. Couldnât find trash dump. Brighton store has a snack bar.

We take these comments very serious. We have rectified the following issues.
1. All lightbulbs have been replaced
2. Milk removed
3. Some of the dishes from the downstairs unit were in advertently relocated to the upstairs unit by a guest that rented the entire cabin. This was explained to the guest and the guest was told they could get any dish or kitchen where they needed from the upstairs unit. There were no people staying in the upstairs unit except for the last night and the guest had complete access to that.
Other issues:
The property has a motion light that adequately lights of the area in front of the door. Not sure why the guest felt that was in adequate.
There is a complete checklist of checkout tasks that is emailed to each guest that specifically states where the garbage dumpster is. This is also easily found on the VRBO website.
We have not had problems in the past with people not knowing the difference between hot and cold water in the shower. The handles are however labeled with a snowflake icon and a sun icon etched in to the fixture if the guest gets confused.
There is only one instruction for the hot tub usage. It is one button that you push that says âonâ. Again we have not had anybody get confused with this in the past.
The keypad has very specific instructions that are simple that are provided in your check in email. Whenever you deviate from those instructions and just start pressing buttons it will freeze the pad for security purposes. We have updated the instructions to tell people tonight just start pushing buttons randomly over and over again or it will freeze.
The units have their own separate entry however both units share a common area we called the âmudroomâ. This is where the washer and dryer is located. This is clearly stated in the listing information and should not have been a surprise.
The units have been professionally soundproof to include a 6 inch thick wood floor/ceiling, soundproofing membrane, And 2 inches of cement. Significantly more than any hotel. There is a possibility that the guests upstairs may have been doing and insanity workout.
We have a bottle of Dawn dish detergent on the kitchen sink that is used for the dishes and doubles as hand soap for most people. If you have special needs for hand soap you will need to provide that.
Brighton simply is know as one of the two best places for quality snow in Utah. (the other is Powder Mountain). Our children are avid snowboarders (one is an instructor at Brighton) and so when this cabin came of for sale, it was a dream come true to be able to buy it!
What makes this property unique
This cabin has the best of all worlds. Not only is it one of the most luxurious (which it better be after a 300k face lift) it is right on the main road which means to skiers no need to rent a w wheel drive. Only a handful of ski in ski out cabins can boast this and none nicer than this one!
