This was the perfect accomdation for our DC vacation. Not only well situated in a great neighborhood, but very convienient to mass transit. The apartment itself was extremely clean, well and thoughtfully appointed, and very comfortable for two couples. I appreciated the small car parking space behind the unit, or the option of a parking garage across the street, however, we could have easily done without a car. The owners were always available, easy to work with and helpful. Do read the reviews, it is a basement apartment with lower ceilings, so a very tall person might not be comfortable and the steps to the apartment are steep if you have bad knees or mobility issues. But I would not hesitate to recommend it or stay here again

Dirty Dingy Basement
Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay and cannot recommend this accommodation to other travelers. What was good: location, prompt responses and generally kind hosts.Bad: everything else. Mold in the shower (hosts said "you can throw out the mat and it should rinse away" when asked to clean it). The shower curtain was so rusted and full of mildew that we went out and bought a replacement for the month we were there. Dust, dead bugs, dirt everywhere. The lighting was extremely dim. No natural light, windows were dirty. Weird smell. EXTREMELY uncomfortable beds. The wifi did not extend to the back room (to the hosts credit, they did come fix it and it worked for about 4 days before not working again). Limited cell service in the apartment. The hosts asked us to let a potential tenant in to tour the place while we were staying here to which we declined. Water damage in the kitchen and rusted dishwasher. At the rate we were paying for this place, "luxury" is absolutely laughable. Everything is outdated and uncomfortable and not clean, it all made for a rather unpleasant experience.

Cute area but very dirty
While the neighborhood was wonderful and the owners seem nice. They were not responsive (action wise) to our concerns. The apartment's dishwasher had black mold the entire time we were there (10 weeks). If the dishwasher was opened it would make the entire apartment smell like decay/mold. When we asked for it to be fixed--the first week--we were told that we were just not using the garbage disposal correctly (this happened twice) and that we should clean it out ourselves. We were hand washing the entire time. The rest of the property needs to be revamped. The bedding and the couch has the slight smell of body odor that does not go away. The shower mat also seems like it has not been cleaned in years and there were bugs everywhere. The wifi did not work in the back part of the apartment. We also met our upstairs neighbors and they were paying a lot less for a backyard, full kitchen, and sunlight. Overall, while I did love the location, the basement apartment itself needs a lot of work and updating. This basement apartment could do well if it just had some investment.
We wanted a place to relax and feel at home with shops and restaurants close by. This place was perfect. Great neighborhood. I liked the easy access to the zoo for getting some exercise.

Family-friendly DC basement flat
Spacious, well-appointed DC townhouse basement flat in a walkable, safe neighborhood. Close to the Metro and plenty of restaurants. Causal interior, good for kids and adults. The assigned parking space in the alley came in handy. Very responsive and helpful owners. My wife and I will be recommending this property to our freinds and family.

Great location for DC
This apartment is situated perfectly in Adams Morgan. There is entertainment and food all around and it is a quick and easy Uber to anywhere in the city for sightseeing. Everything is clean and well kept. If I had to give one negative, it would be that you need to watch your head in the shower if you are taller as the ceilings are low and there is a box for the vents, but then again it is a basement apartment. My family enjoyed our time here greatly crashing after long days of walking around and seeing the sights. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Very nice place in a cozy neighborhood.
We had a very good experience. Our family was in town for a DC vacation and spent the bulk of our daytime downtown. We were a 10 minute walk from the Woodley Park metro station. If we were in a morning rush, it was a $10 Lyft ride to the White House.
We were pleased with the amenities. You are in a basement flat, so you can expect to hear the upstairs neighbors during normal waking hours. We slept good, but the beds are really firm.
Communication with the host was very good. We had all the basics needed for cleaning dishes and clothes. The hosts also checked in via email regularly to see if we needed anything.
I was very happy with our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

just ok
The location was good for us. The space was fine, but were not told that it was a basement. The floor had some water issues that need to be addressed. The upstairs people did NOT follow the rule on being quite from 9am and again at 9pm. That was the only issue with noise and running and stomping from 6:30 am until almost 10am. We called and that just seemed to make it worse.

Clean, well-furnished, comfortable.
Our host was accommodating and responsive, and allowed us to leave bags in the apartment for 4 hours after the 11AM checkout on the last day. This was huge as our departing flight was not until late afternoon. A few minor issues we encountered on the first day were addressed right away. The only problems we had are intrinsic to the location of the apartment and not really correctible- because it is on a busy street, there is street noise until late. And because it is a basement apartment, there is noise from folks walking around above us.

Amazing location and very roomy two bedroom!
You can't really beat the location of this property. It's a 10-minute walk to the Metro and surrounded by a ton of yummy restaurants. The place is in a basement, so it's definitely not a sunny place. The beds are comfortable and the linens are fine. The pullout is from IKEA and pretty comfy for a pull out. It had everything we needed as far as towels and kitchen stuff. I would definitely stay here if you are looking for a convenient, walkable location!

We were very happy with the accommodation as it suited our needs perfectly. The location was close to the Metro, buses, places to eat and buy supplies. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process of booking and staying in the accommodation and there were clear instructions and information. The apartment was clean and tidy with plenty of linen and supplies to help out a busy traveller. We could hear people at times walking around above but this really didn't disturb us and we slept well.

Great location and property
We traveled with our two kids (ages 12 and 16). The basement apartment was the perfect size and had everything you could need. We did not need a car. There was a grocery store, a Starbucks and a McDonalds within 2 blocks. The subway station was about a 10 minute walk. We also easily walked to the National Zoo (15-20 minutes) and the National Cathedral (this was about 30-40 minutes). Allen is also a great host. Very personable and responsive when you need him.
